  1. it opened like dec 1975 or something. i think it pretty much was THE original ride
  2. i didnt even notice. anyway i emailed them back.....
  3. yea but i thought they would just turn on the maintenance lights
  4. apparantly they had to evacuate the people off the ride, clear the queues and that first door as you exit the station was left open and lights were turned on. although apparantly the staff went in with flashlights. and they sent some empty cars around before closing the ride completely
  5. weird. does that mean that one engine will be left? i might email them back.
  6. for anyone else interested..... Dear Jason Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately a decision has not been made as to what attraction is replacing the pirate ship, however I do suggest visiting our website on www.myfun.com.au for all the latest updates on our theme parks. Also the red train ride is also no longer apart of Sea World, we still do have the monorail that goes around the park which is included in the entrance fee. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us here at Guest Services on 0755882178 Yours sincerely Guy Belle Guest Services Duty Supervisor Sea World PO Box 190 SURFERS PARADISE QLD 4217 T: +61 7 5588 2222 F: +61 7 5591 1056 E: guy.belle@wvtp.com.au W: www.seaworld.com.au ---- umm, i thought the train was blue? or was there two engines?
  7. family were at the park today and said spooky coaster was evacuated but there was no reason given. anyone shed some light please?
  8. not looking good. i just found the updated park map with the pirate ship removed and the train track is still pictured but there is no mention of it in the attractions list. they could always extend the jet rescue
  9. wait... The Pirate Ship is closed until further notice. - its leaving.... does that mean........ The Grand Central Train Tour is closed until further notice. is going too? or is it jsut until the remove the ship? and how long has the train been down? also just out of interest.... The Flume ride will be closed 25 May - 7 June inclusive for scheduled maintenance. didnt they just recently remake/upgrade that? and finally... The Sea World Resort Water Park will be closed from 25 May - 18 September inclusive. new rides or just maintenace or closed for the colder months?
  10. ummm..... and put it where exactly?
  11. went on it for the first time today. WOW! i wasnt expecting it to be that good. its a great little ride, very fun, not much point trying to theme it anymore as you dont reallly have a chance to look around anyway
  12. i did email myfun a few weeks ago and all i got back was their standard 'thanks for the email' reply. i pointed them to this forum and in particular this thread. maybe we should all send in a collective email somehow.
  13. my family went to seaworld yesterday and apparantly the jet rescue was closed. this wasnt listed at the front gate or online. just wondering if anyone knows what happened and if it is operating again?
  14. he is supposed to move!!?????!!!! hasnt anytime ive been there
  15. i did notice too the whole ride seemed brighter as i could see more of the track than usual lol, i think one of the staff recognised me the other day. i have been to movieworld about 5 times in the past month and a half and the guy doing the unloading of scooby was the same guy i had seen each time working in shrek4d.
  16. i forgot to mention that movie wasnt playing in the queue area either (on either projector)
  17. was the same people on both rides with the boat balanced. anyone working there shed some light for us curious ones?
  18. we are pretty sure it did, because the water seemed to be moving faster as it was causing larger rapids in the backwards section the 2nd time around, as the queues were nearly an hour long, i think they must have been pumping the water in faster.
  19. does anyone know the ride times for WWF and average speed of the ride in both fast and slow modes? today, we went on it at around 10.20am (went straight from scooby at 10) and it was a nice slow ride where we got pretty wet on the backwards drop and soaked on the main one. we went on later in the day (about 45min-1hr in line - i didnt even know the queue extended out of that room before) and the ride was a lot faster and we didnt get too wet on the first drop due to the speed but still got soaked on the main one, and there seemed to be more water on the main one this time.
  20. went on it about 3 times today (i think? it may have been 2?) anyway, the light on scooby at the end of the ride points to his chest and his face is still unlit. while the smoke was enough to see the lasers slightly, it would have been so much better with a lot more smoke. also, when i went on it the first time a few weeks ago, the lap restraint locked down further at the bottom of the backwards drop. today, it did not. getting slightly airborne in your seat is certainly an interesting feeling. the empty seat beside me however locked down so much it was touching the seat. and the 2nd time i went on today, the restraint didnt lock again either, but my friends did.....on that last drop just before you get back to the station.
  21. yea it was glossy paint when i saw it. was going to go back on thursday just gone, but it was raining all day and my friend was sick. ill be going again soon (within 2weeks), but im sure one of you guys will beat me back
  22. shot of the rear tyre during the parade. doesnt seem to be running on slicks
  23. thanks for that info a few more questions sorry, 1.how often do they change tyres? 2.any ideas of an approx cost of each show? 3.has there ever been any problems with the bike? the first time i saw the show after driving to one end of the arena, something fell off the bike (a white panel or 4.something, i couldnt quite tell - this was about a month ago). 5.got any photos of the backwards car? 6.what do the drivers do between shows? (although i did see once a couple of them being interviewed by that asian radio thing) 7.what are the chances of getting some behind the scenes photos of the rear of the set? or is that for some reason off limits? (if it is, i cant really understand why?)
