Every now and then I get bored, fire up rct3 and mess around with some stuff.

I'm looking for a prison set for RCT3 which has a decent barb wire high security type fence but the only one I found has no download link any more. Anyone know of a decent working one?

Well I get that it was put on, but I wasn't sure if it was scripted like that or if the chick had decided to do it by herself for the sake of it. It might sound silly, but if I was to be running a show like that, I'd keep trying to change it slightly to keep myself entertained too. I think it still would have been non-gimicky if they had made the seats vibrate or something during the explosions and not just for a drop once. It's not like they didn't have the money or technology to do it. I would have loved to have seen it again but once we were on the studio tour, next time we were down in the back lot and wouldn't have made it back once we realised the time, and last time we were watching terminator or something. Time gets away from you in places like that, especially when you can't use the sun as a guide. Sounds like you're saying Waterworld and Jurrassic Park are the "point" of universal and Space mtn and BTMR was the "point" of Disney? If I've seen things before I would rather spend the time seeing things I didn't last time than miss out on them again. -

Yea the drop was a bit surprising, feels like if you aren't concentrating you could easily bit your tongue I hope they didn't spend too much on the seats just for them to do that -
Maybe we should all spam Six Flags and Cedar park amusements to see if they can buy DW Also, standup isn't really that great IMO, would much prefer a flying coaster

So it's been a while since my promised reviews. Sorry about that. Universal Studios was a pretty entertaining day. It was also the first time we met a coca-cola freestyle machine. ~160 different drink choices from the same machine.... As with the other parks I've reviewed the order in which I went on things makes no real difference so I again review in order of appearance on the website. Studio Tour - This was actually the first thing we went on for the day. We arrived about 10.45 and after having a quick breakfast - I must say the breaky burrito was awesome - we waited in line for almost an hour before finally getting on the tour. It was quite impressive, much of it being the same as it was a few years ago when I was there this time with the impressive addition of the King Kong 3D show. It really is amazing the way they have done it, you drive into the building and inside is a dome completely surrounding the cars. The entire thing is a 3d screen with an impressive show of King Kong vs some T-rex's with movement and water effects. It's quite interesting to see all the different movie sets and props and the effort they put in to rebuilding them after the fire a few years ago. I feel sorry for the poor guy who plays norman bates though, he is the only non-automated attraction and would just have to do the same 2minute skit over and over each day (obviously there would be more than one actor, but still, a 2min skit over and over for a couple of hours would still do your head in). The only downside of this was it was "hosted" by Jimmy Fallon so you have to endure several lame skits during the tour. Revenge of the Mummy - Eh, it had a short queue, but the ride feels like it only lasts about 1 minute if that. It's a nice fast dark ride though but once we got to the end we couldn't help the feeling of "oh, is that it?" Jurassic Park - Another water ride in reasonably cold weather and a bit of wind. A few people were braving it and the queue was around 30mins or so. Terminator 2 3D - I don't know if it was just the actors' improv or if it was scripted but damn I'm sick of the word "super" now, or should I say "suuperrrrrrrrrr" It was the end of every damn sentence she said. As for it being advertised as being some sort of well not 4D, but lets call it a "force-feedback" show, we were really unimpressed by the "effects" in the seats. At the end of the show we got lifted up 10cm or so once, then dropped back the normal height shortly after that. Not sure again if that's normal or something wasn't working. Overall I wasn't really impressed by the show as it seemed really dated and you could see how much the technology has improved since it was made. House Of Horrors - We had planned on visiting this on the way out but ran out of time. It's a scary walk-through attraction. Animal Actors - Due to us seeing Terminator we didn't have time to see it. Wish I'd skipped T23D to check it out though. Universal Experience - Wow, that sucked. It was just a few props in some glass display cabinets. Not really the "Go behind the scenes of Universal's film legacy in this interactive exhibit featuring authentic props, wardrobe and artifacts from past, present and upcoming Universal Productions. Movie fans of all ages will see displays from many Academy Award® winning films like Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Jaws and Psycho. The Oscar® statue for 1973's Best Picture The Sting will also be on display." that sounded interesting from the website. Simpsons Ride - That was awesome. The wait time was 15mins and the ride is a motion-simulated-non-looping-coaster. Once we were sitting in the cars we were wondering what was going to happen since there was no obvious screen in front of us. Then we were lifted through the roof and into a surround dome screen like King Kong. We loved the ride and would have done it several more times if time permitted. Shrek 4D - Universal had it years before movieworld made their clone. Adventures of Curious George - A nice kids water play area. Waterworld - We were supposed to see it but didn't get a chance to due to being caught up watching other shows or being on rides. I'd seen it before but was a little disappointed to miss it. Special Effects Stage - Wasn't as interesting as I remembered it being a few years ago but wasn't bad none the less to see how some effects were made before the CGI era. Blues Brothers - Just some musical show we didn't bother with. Overall 8/10 Rides 8/10 (Only thanks to Simpsons and the Tour - but this isn't really a ride park) Food 7/10 Theming 9/10 - Well it is a movie set after all so the backlot tour was really well themed and the simpsons queue and ride was excellent. On a side note - There is a lot of construction going on near the back of the park behind a massive wall showing a Transformers logo so it will be interesting to see what happens there. Ok - a quick bit of google-ing show there is a ride going in there in which case for a ride announce in 2008 I would have expected work to have started before 2010, but still they've done quite a bit to remove backdraft, relocated the special effects show and remake the buildings. Not something you'd really want to advertise... And finally...... "OMG THEY'RE LOOSE!"
-
As per your suggesting, I am currently rendering a video comprised of all the footage I took from the trip.... at 600x and will be uploading it to this post later today or tomorrow depending on file size and upload times (no music added yet though)
-
Version 1 - Just the normal ride http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xjooqh_autopia_travel Other versions coming soon assuming I can work out how to use the program properly
-
But without the music it's meh lol. I wasn't sure how the filter worked if it just checked for ID3 type tags or if it checked the actual music. Stupid copyright. I'm still looking for an alternative edit - trying Dailymotion now - should take about 3hrs to upload so I should be able to show it here later. It's really not all that great lol, it's just a full onride of one of the Autopia tracks with some music.
-
OK, so youtube didn't work, and I though this was a video sharing site too, but it's not. So if you want to see it, a ) Download it here http://www.4shared.c...xY/Autopia.html b ) Tell me a youtube alternative
-
Present for you edit- assholes blocked the video because of the music I chose. feel free to watch through a US proxy though I'll see if I can upload it somewhere else Interesting they emailed me this but I can still watch it As a result, your video has been blocked in these locations: Australia, New Zealand - edit: just tried once I was logged out and I can't look at it. Uploading to photobucket now in the hope that works
-
But then you wouldn't be nekkid? Yes I would pay more than $50 if I had it available at the time
-
Ride Lethal Weapon nekkid!!!

$21 USD to be custom made for the park. I would assume it would cost some more to ship to AUS, plus, lets say it's $25m to AUS, that's $5m on theming so we can show the actual parks how it's done -

The op on Tatsu actually started to sing, and he was damn good. The op on Ninja did the ninjaaaaaaa thing. The op on Goliath used his phone to convert the height of the drop into several different measurements. The rest of the ops were pretty normal. I found scream to be fairly smooth actually but it just didn't really do anything for me as a ride compared to a steel enclosed car coaster. Don't get me wrong it is an excellent ride, it's just a bit over-hyped. Now, who wants to pool $30m+ together and build a Tatsu clone over here? -

- Just on the wait times, they are about what I was expecting, but with limited time you really don't notice how quick the day disappears. If I was to do the same trip again, I would have doubled my stay in all the parks. Now to just win the lotto.... It's a real shame we didn't realise the way to get the dodgy fastpasses for all the parks. ***TIP FOR ANYONE VISITING A US PARK AND WANTING TO SKIP ALL QUEUES BY BEING A DODGY BASTARD*** Go to guest services and tell them you have an anxiety disorder and freak out standing in lines. They will give you a medical pass which works like a fastpass but you can use it for any ride at any time and they usually add your whole group to the pass. Annual passholders do this all the time, especially at Disneyland -
Just saw this on facebook...

Yea I had hard time getting the harness to drop down too and had to actually jump and push it down before I stood there, and I'm 70kgs. It wasn't that bad that I missed it really, to use it on the flashpass iirc you have to pay an extra fee (after already spending 150+ on the pass) and it turns out the ride was only open for around 3hrs in the morning, which was before I even got there. Overheard the photo attendants at Tatsu saying it was too windy to keep it open but the wind kept dropping and coming back and they just got sick of opening and closing it all the time. Which would they be sorry? Silverbullet and Batman? If so, only one of them was by somewhat of a choice. -

This one got no comments? LOL oh well.. I've still got Universal Studios, California Adventure, Legoland and Seaworld to go -
Today I review my new favourite park ever. Six Flags Magic Mountain. So the day didn't get off to the best start as on the way out the relatives decided it would be great to stop at targer. We have those in Aus for shits sake. Anyway we got to the park around midday for lunch. Now as I don't really remember what order we did what, I will write this review in order of the rides listed on the SFMM website. But first I must mention something my awesome wife did for me. We were in the line for Ninja (already waited 40min or so) and get this call from her telling me while we were in line she decided to go and buy me a platinum flash pass. YAY!!! Basically what that does is cut the queue times for all the rides from 2hr+ to 2-5 minutes. On to the review. Apocalypse - A nice wooden coaster, (used to be Terminator) still has nothing on Ghostrider though. It was still good fun it just lacked that pants-packing feeling of Ghostrider. Atom Smasher - Matterhorn ride. Can't say I actually remember seeing this one in the park. Batman The Ride - Looked pretty cool but was closed for the construction of Green Lantern (at least I think that was the reason) Buccaneer - Pirate ship. I was considering riding but then remembered the amount of coaster I was there to ride Canyon Blaster - Looney Tunes themed coaster which I didn't go on as I didn't actually wander through the kids area. Colossus - A nice fun dueling wooden coaster - surprised the track is still standing with the noise it makes, especially on the chain. We figured if it managed to stay in one piece to the top, we'd surely be deaf by the time we got there. Cyclone 500 - Go Kart upcharge. I think it was about $8 which wasn't too bad but I didn't go on. Deja-Vu - Wasn't available on the flashpass so we didn't bother waiting in the queue, I mean sure the ride looked cool but the queue-to-track-length ratio wasn't worth it for the time we had. Daffy's Adventure Tours - One of those school bus ride things for the kids. Dive Devil - Sky Swing upcharge thing. Was either $8 or $15 I think. Elmer's Weather Balloons - A not-too-well themed balloon ride for kids. Foghorn Leghorn's Barn and Railway - Kids train ride. Goldrusher - Another one not on the flashpass so it was passed up. Looked to be a junior coaster winding through some trees. Goliath - That was fun. ~137kph down a 26 storey drop into an underground tunnel. What's not to love? Pretty decent ride time on that one too as well as nice fast chain to get to the top of the 1.3km track. Loved it. Grand Carousel - Well it goes around and around and well....yea. Green Lantern - The track looks pretty cool because it's so different to a normal coaster, should be a good spin-and-spew coaster once it opens in a couple of days. Grinder Gearworks - Pretty sure this was also closed due to GL. Not really sure what type of ride it is. Looks like a gravatron in the open but you're strapped in? Jet Stream - Log flume in the cold? No thanks. Seems a lot of people felt that way too with a maybe 5 person deep queue. Log Jammer - Another flume.... wait, there was two? Merrie Melodies Carousel - Kid version of the main one. Ninja - You know, this ride was good as it was something different. Not really sure of the correct name for it, but I think rollercoaster tycoon always referred to them as a suspended swinging coaster or something. So yea that's basically what it does. You sit in the little car with not much needed for a restraint although they give you an over-the-shoulder harness. After riding, which I might add was maybe 40sec I really can't see what would have warranted the 50minute queue. Also, those poor bloody ride ops of that one. The guy would have been about 50+ and for each train he launched the speach was the same. "Welcome to Ninja! Hi-yaaa, hi-ya, hi-ya.... for EACH CARRIAGE that passed his booth. Not only that he was saying "Welcome back and thanks for riding Ninja, hi-yaaaaa!" Pepe Le Pew's Tea Party - Kids teacup ride. Reveloution - Wasn't sure if this one was running or not but somehow we never stumbled past the entrance. It's (I think) the world's first looping coaster. Road Runner Express - I think it might have been rethemed from something else, but yea it's a kids coaster. Roaring Rapids - Surprisingly for a rapids ride, didn't have a decent viewing area that I could find. Again there was no queue for a water ride. Sandblasters - Dodgems. Didn't even notice it really. Scrambler - One of those travelling type rides that always seemed to be called Sizzler. Scream - A floorless coaster. It was a great ride and I would do it again but the floorless part didn't really seem to add much to the ride. It just felt like a wide sitting coaster. I didn't even really notice my feet flying around at all. Sky Tower - Would have done it, but no real time. (Observation tower) Superman Escape from Krypton - Think a dual TOT2 but a bit faster and higher. Didn't bother as we have a close equilvilant here. Swashbuckler - Chair-o-plane I didn't know existed. Sylvester's Pounce and Bounce - A kids bounce tower thing. Tatsu - Mmmmmmm one hell of a ride. Coastergasam? This now tops my list as favourite coaster ever. Suprassing the title previously help by Ghostrider. I don't know where to start with this ride. It was amazing from start to finish. The only thing I didn't like about this was the amount of gum that was on the catwalk up the lift chain. Everything else was awesome. The initial feeling of being lifted into the lying down position was weird and that feeling of flight you get is unbelievable. Taz's Trucking Co. - A kids truck ride. Just like vintacge cars but trucks. The Looney Tunes Lodge - A kids play zone. The Riddler's Revenge - AKA The Ball Crusher - Don't ride this if you plan on having kids any time soon. Also don't make the mistake of jumping like the poor bastard did in front of me who had to stay in a lifted up position for the ride duration which is around 3 minutes of ball destroying madness. For anyone who doesn't know, it's the worlds tallest and fastest stand up coaster and it's an excellent ride. The first time we queue for this it got stuck on the chain and took about 30min - 45min to reset while the people had to sit there waiting. I liked the ride and it was actually really smooth. Tidal Wave - This wasn't closed, I don't think, but it never seemed to go anywhere and there seemed to be some people waiting at the station. There was a few curious people waiting to see if it did anything. Oh yea, while we were waiting a family of ducks wandered past. Tweety's Escape - Cage ride thing for kids. Viper - Managed to get front row with no wait thanks to the flashpass. It was also an excellent and exhillerating ride, even though up the top it was so damn cold I thought ice would form on the track As part of the rides 7 inversions, it boasts the world's tallest vertical loop standing at 14 stories and another two at 9 and 6 stories. X2 - I don't do spin-&-spew rides and this coaster was no exception. As well as that due to the wind it was being opened and closed throughout the day and was not on the flashpass. Yosemite Sam's Flight School - Kids up-and-down aeroplane ride. Overall: 10/10 Rides: 10/10 Food: 9/10 - I don't remember what we ate, but I know it was good. Theming: 8/10 There wasn't too much theming however they make excellent use of the trees and landscape to make up for it. I would love to live over there and work at the park. I'd say if I had the money and was single I would do so. And now for the pics.

This took a while for me to get around to posting the review, I did have intentions of having them all done last week but some stuff came up. Anyway, enjoy Knotts Berry Farm - The first non-Disney stop on the trip. Initial impressions? Not good. But for some reason I walked into the park and didn't even notice Ghostrider off in the distance. Yea, I don't know how I missed it either. After wandering around the park a bit my impressions quickly changed. For such an old park, it isn't really showing its age too much. Anyway, firstly to get there we took a bus from near the hotel which cost us $1.50 each way. Turns out $1.50 will get you anywhere on the route one way. Pretty damn cheap. Anyway back to the park. As we were travelling with kids, we spent a bit of time in Camp Snoopy. Pretty decent place for kids with a mix of rides to keep them entertained. Not really much else to review about it. I didn't bother with Sierra Sidewinder as it wasn't really a drawcard for me. There is one place there I'm not really sure if it's in Camp Snoopy or just past it but there was a building there which would have previously housed some kind of coaster but has now been turned into a food outlet. Any ideas what was there? Fiesta Village is your young teen type area with a couple of carnival type rides as well as Montezooma's Revenge which was closed at the time, even if it was open, for what it does I don't really think I would have bothered to wait through that queue. On to the rides I did go on, and firstly Jaguar. For a kids ride it's actually pretty decent. Almost 800m of track winds around some trees and through the loop of one of the rides. I was actually really impressed with the ride. Xcelerator - I really liked this one. Think superman escape but 130kph in 2.3sec and 62m high. Very good fun and if time allowed I would have ridden it many more times. Ghostrider. At this point, my new favourite coaster (keep in mind I hadn't done SFMM yet). This is the only coaster I've ever been on (incl SFMM) that has given me the "OMG holy crap I'm going to die!" feeling on. It was an unbelievable ride. First wooden coaster I've been on and the experience is something I recommend every coaster fan do. Unfortunately due to time contraints I could only do all these rides once. I wouldn't have minded riding Windseeker however that would have been a little difficult as the tower wasn't even finished being constructed. Not really sure how to describe the ride, so I'll let Knotts do that "WindSeeker will feature 32, 2-person gondolas that will ascend to a height of 301 feet. Once it has reached the top of the tower, WindSeeker will spread it's metal arms swinging riders for a 60 second flight at a 45 degree angle at a speed of 8 rotations per minute." Not really much else was done at the park apart from eat at the "Coasters" cafe. Pretty decent standard theme park food. The rest of the rides there were either closed, too busy (Silver bullet had a wait of over an hour and a half or I would have done that) or water rides which it was too damn cold for. Overall: 8/10 (Thanks to Ghostrider) Rides: 8/10 (Again thanks to Ghostrider and Xcelerator) Food: 7/10 Theming: 6/10 (Really the only themed area is Ghost Town but it's done well) And some pictures...
