I've seen people riding at the front, but has there been testing with people on the back seat as well? With such a particular first drop *and* the backwards seating, that seems like a really particular experience to test out!

There was a guy sitting in the backwards row on that first day of testing:

  2. Motocoaster at Dreamworld had a front line up, anywhere line up and sidecar and after awhile the pole position (front) was removed as having a line like that you do wait alot longer and people in the end didn't want to wait plus it's a crap ride too

I really wish our Aussie coasters would incorporate front-row queue lines. I noticed when I was in USA that many of their rides has a separate front queue. Always thought it would be a good idea here too.
  3. Longest would be Manta at Sea World Orlando, 2 hour wait not long after its grand opening. In Australia I've waited for superman on a public holiday for 1.5 hours. Not really that long but when they're only running one train it takes forever to move through the queue. Shortest would be heaps of walk-ons, Superman, Scooby, Batwing, WWF, TOTII, Claw, Buzzsaw, Cyclone, Jet Rescue ETC ETC ETC :) I love quiet weekdays, and the early entry at DW ;)

  4. The entrance si in fact the old way to the batman shop, it is what i wanted to show you with my photos...and along the queue there is some extract from the comic book GL ( but i couln't take photos of this) So the queue is under the palm trees for the first part and continue on the bridge of the studios entrance...

I'm a little confused as to where the ride exits then..? In regards to theming: at least they painted it the right colour! :)
  5. .... and that ramp?! leading from the bridge all the way to the ride?

Do we know that this is the entrance? Makes more sense to be the exit ramp, with the entrance on the side with the stairs. I'm assuming we will see lots of switchbacks put in place around the lead up to those stairs...
  6. They have decided but they run it on different cycles depending on the day. it all depends on how many people are waiting as they want to keep the queue down.

On our very first ride of Buzzsaw they sent us on 2 cycles. It was a busy day and the queue was in the big switchback section. I certainly wasn't expecting it! Heck, I'm not complaining… :D
  7. Fixed. But yeah, that pic is from www.nearmap.com ... Better than Google Because they update their Australian images about every 2 months.

Oops, sorry themeparkgc. Well spotted on the supports, I agree it looks like the XT150 is the likely model here. There go my hopes of some extra elements :( Yeah I will check nearmaps out, google earth has such old images whenever I look at theme parks.
  8. Here are some photos of the ride as well as a POV: article The section at the very start looks a bit like the beginning of Saw: the ride. Except I can't tell if there's an inversion in there. It's a bit different that the big lift hill is the SECOND part of the ride, after the initial dark bit and launch section… And that drop looks pretty steep in the video, I can imagine it would be insane to ride!

  9. AGREED, and that's why I say a standup would have the most impact with the australian audience. But a flyer would kick but as well. I agree Gazza, that would be another great coaster, and their recent installation shows they can have a great layout too.

I think a flying coaster would really 'take off' in the Australian market ('scuse the pun)
