that’s the thing, compared to previous years the queue times and crowd levels weren’t bad at all.

Like he said, IT was 1hr (2-3hrs previous event), Conjuring was only 20mins, Death Row was 15mins, Zombieland walk on (around 30mins-1hr previously) and Doll Haus was 20mins (1hr - 1.5hrs previously.) These times were in peak period as the mazes lines start shrinking towards the end of the event.

With those wait times, they can all be done in 1hr and 55mins (excluding walking to and from), whereas last time people were only getting 1-2 mazes done in the entire night.

    Touché

In saying that ‘It’ maze wasn’t necessarily 1 hour to be exact, I’d say 1.5-2 hours. I was told by a worker that the line would be “well over 1 hour”. I should’ve specified that clearer.

Maybe they did cap the capacity at a lower number this year, I just personally didn’t really notice a difference at all to a sold out night in 2019. For example I remember waiting 2 hours for the “It” maze, but walking straight into Leatherface. I only remember waiting around 15-20 minutes for HOK.

The car park was full and cars were parked on the grass when I left just after 9. To say it was a “quiet night” is a ridiculous assumption to make.

  2. Extremely busy tonight.

‘It’ maze  had a  1+ hour long wait all night. The line stretched from the funhouse all the way to the stunt driver entrance and back. When i first walked past I thought they were doing HSD2 shows until i realised it was for the It maze.

Conjuring 6/10 - the same as what they showed up 9 news, was okay in my opinion. Good amount of scare actors. I liked the crooked man projection on the door although the actor wasn’t present when I passed by. This maze was giving homemade. 20 minute wait

    Death Row 6/10

Good amount of actors again, lots of recognisable sets and costumes from previous year mazes. The ending was lacklustre so left feeling kinda disappointed. 15 minute wait

    Zombieland 2/10

Literally no scare actors, sets were meh, practically walk on.

    Doll House 7/10

Pretty good set designs, personally I struggle to find pretty girls in doll masks that scary so this was a bit of a disappointment for me. 20 minute wait.

I really don't believe they made less tickets available than previous years because of the price increase, seemed the same as 2019 crowd wise.

DC and Scooby were 75 minutes, Superman 30

This year kinda seemed like a cheap out to me, but understandable considering they lost 2 years to covid. Hopefully they use the extra $$$ they’ll make due to the price increase to up the quality next year.

Main street atmosphere was fantastic, as were the other scare zones

All the rides closed at 9pm, I left at 9.10 so i’m not sure how the lines held up after.

  3. Not only is this year drastically more expensive, this is also the first year VRTP have offered team members no free tickets for Fright Nights, instead only x2 50% off tickets for the first 3 nights. Which still adds up to almost $40 a ticket each.

Team members also pointed out they still had in staff discounts on the employee portal that team members are entitled to x2 free FN tickets a year, to which they just responded “sorry that hasn’t been updated”.

    Map is up

It does appear the precinct section and the location for Bloodlust on map is misleading

I’m pretty sure this will be fixed soon

    Wait what?

    1. There is no 'Day Of The Dead' Precint on the website

    2. Where did the 'Halloween' Precint come from? Wasn't that last year

    3. 'Dark Arts' Precint is on the website but not on the map - and is said to be on Main Street  -> Practitioners of the Dark Arts have descended on Main Street

    4. Shouldn't ' Gothic Hall' be next to Scooby?

    What a mess! Lol

Let's hope they don't repeat that cringey dance/moshpit at the end of the night to a corny EDM song like previous years

No its not, this is such a MASSIVE, HUGE thing. A whole family have lost their lives and Dreamworld is to blame. How can they ever recover from this is beyond me. This is a massive, long lasting stain on their history/legacy and if they're not shut down by the government then they'll be shut down from the massive legal costs which will go into the tens of millions.

Touchy subject but yes I'm sure it could have been avoided if the ride was better assessed and operated. I guess it's just something no one would have thought to happen.. I also believe it probably happened because someone stood up on the ride

They were there doing it last night as well.

When I first entered MW last night, one of them slid up to me, expecting me to be like everyone else jump out of the way in fear. I didn't. Which ended in him subtly crashing into my leg and a bunch of nearby people laughing.

    Awkward moment, haha.

Atmosphere looked great in that video!

Anyone else agree that movie world should upload the mazes to their YouTube channel in HD once they know they won't return? I always feel like it's such a wasted opportunity. I would love to look back on previous mazes like Saw, nightmare on elm street, arkham asylum, evil dead, wolf creek etc but there is no good footage of them to be found online! They should definetely do that from F13 and wrymwood this year as we know they won't be returning.. Just a thought

  7. So corny, unprofessional and stupid. Can barely even watch that cringe fest. Really takes away from the whole eerie aesthetic that they should be going for. Clearly they are trying to impress the younger generation but common, who is coming up with this shit? How about less shows like that and more like this >

I know they are changing they're makeup designs and going into prosthetics this year, and changing the consistency of the Blood, so it doesn't melt off!

2016 FN is Huge for Warner Bros.

Terror Tram ?, using the old Trams from Back Of House Tours

Hopefully they are going to start making their zombies look more like Universal's, I remember last year they didn't look scary at all..

I think a scare zone based on just horror movie icons would be fantastic!

Dear POP, do this forum a favour and go make an account on BreatheHeavy.com and join all of the other hateful, annoying users that are there. And this is coming from someone who is on GagaDaily. :flop:

I was just about to say I feel like a user like POP belongs on exhale not Parkz ?

  10. They also mentioned they're looking at trying to secure rights to one of the biggest, if not the biggest horror franchise possibly as soon as next year. In my mind I'm thinking that's Scream, Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, Nightmare on Elm street or Blair Witch. In saying that I may be completely wrong as I'm not really into horror movies much.

American horror story perhaps? I believe that would be a pretty hard franchise to gain the rights to as it's very popular nowadays.. Also probably the most requested maze by the GP

  11. Fright nights was scarier prior 2013 when they had the horror icons like leather face roaming Main Street with the chainsaw and Michael Myers. They seem to just reuse the same characters nowadays as well as picking teenagers off the street and slapping blood on them and calling them zombies and clowns.. The streets felt very empty last night. It was very rare to see people running and screaming like they used to.

there's definitely no denying that the Fright Night team reads this forum as they literally brought back Leatherface and Michael Myers just last night after I posted this ? Hope they keep it this way for the rest of the nights to come!

  13. No need to get so heated. I'm not all too chuffed with what we've got, but at least we have something. They could've easily given us half-assed mazes like "The Darkness" for all four. Instead, they've given four highly detailed and effective mazes. I don't really know Wyrmwood, nor do many people I know, but I'm not a horror aficionado. While I enjoy Fright Nights, I don't have my finger on the horror film pulse like others. Maybe that's their target audience?

not heated at all, just my opinion.

  14. I find it funny how they advertised it as "4 new mazes" when they knew full well it was only 2/4. Wish they would stop introducing stupid mazes no one asks for like Wrymwood (who has even heard of that movie?) and instead introduce Hollywood horror classics or actually relevant movies that people would be able to say "hey I know that movie". Friday the 13th is the only decent one this year.. I hope they have a horror icons scare zone.

  15. An ambulance car and 2 stalls (same as carnivale but halloween themed) have been added outside the bank to sell the signiture foods and at starts cafe a sign has been added for ultimate terror tour. There's no cages outside anymore for dancers either.

There's also an old style black car outside stars cafe (don't know what kind ofcar but it's new and for fright night)
