  1. I agree with most on here, the 3pm to 8pm hours are just plain dumb. They will attract only the season pass holders during this time (of which I am one). Why would you not try to attract more visitors, word of mouth and most importantly for them more revenue by having 10-5 or 10-8 in Feb. I understand that school goes back end of Jan but so what, its still a Summer month, there are 6 million people in Sydney let alone tourists and surrounds and they seem to be just catering towards people who go there every day. I had organised to take a day off work in Feb to get on most attractions but 5 hours in afternoon I will get on 4 rides in that time lol. I would have thought that a park in its first season of operating would be trialling things. How do they know that numbers will slow down, yes they could base it on their other establishments around the world but we are a pretty big city, who knows what numbers they may attract in Feb unless they trial it one year. Let alone that we are charged full price for a season pass and yet the season only began mid December. Its crazy! I went last Thursday (my third time) arriving at 6pm staying to close and did the Surf Deck for 45 mins + 6 rides. I still haven't gotten on the T5 as it was broken down again when I tried to line up. This has happened all 3 times I have been there The queuing system still sucks and needs major fixing in the off season. Now with the fast pass on 2 of the towers they take up half of the stairs. On the towers the fast pass lane should be just wide enough for one person. The T5 Tower should have a dedicated line right from the beginning with a person manning it on beginning entry to the line and at bottom of the stairs. Amount of people just using it to walk halfway up the tower is crazy. We also had the usual kids trying to do the old 'my friends are up there' and push in on the non-fast pass line (they weren't going past us lol). Boomerang Bay is just sad, way too small, too boring. Why not build something like the Atlantis Current, there's is 1 mile long, excellent theming with action currents, waterfalls etc and able to go on rides. I would like to see Sydney's wrap around at least half of the towers, you could go around the outskirts with exits that are near each of the queues. Anyways I'm just hoping Jamberoo's Giant Action River gets built over the offseason. Lastly like others I cannot imagine any work other than minor improvements will be done in the off season, surely with Sydney planning they would have had to have the development application in by now and as far as I can see there is nothing new as yet.
  2. I think you will find one of the main reasons this was cancelled is that WnW still don't have their liquor license. When I went 2 weeks ago they had alcohol in the surf club but weren't allowed to sell it. Feel sorry for all those peeps that made plans to go tonight. Any money the Australia Day 'replacement' will be canned as well who would trust them now lol
  3. Thanks Bussy, I thought as much, Im guessing they are just digging up old articles. re staff levels, a few people have made comments that the reason 'The Boomerang' is not operating in full is due to staff, plus they always seem to be advertising on job agencies and there is a cap on attendance (something about 1 lifeguard per 100 people in attendance). There is also talk of staff being brought down from GC parks, but I find that hard to believe with the wages they are paying...
  4. I have read numerous posts on facebook stating that they think that this is only Stage 1 of Wet n Wild and there is another 2 stages to come. But from what I can see they were originally going to build it in 3 stages but went against that and put it all into one, there doesnt seem to be any development applications either supporting any new additions as yet. Does anyone know/think that they will be adding any extra rides over the winter break? I just cannot see any logic why they would seek to update it already, when they are currently doing a roaring trade and struggling to attract the necessary staffing.
  5. Hi Guys, Went back on Tuesday 17th for the first full day as I knew there would be a couple of school excursions but I thought what schools would have a school excursion in the first full week of a new park opening?? Firstly I will start on the bad things: Arrived at midday and place was pretty full. I counted 15 coaches (school buses) + there could have been others that had been dropped off. Attempted to put money on band but in first store all there systems were retsrating, moved to the next shop and again all four systems down and some pretty frazzled young staff being overrun. Managed to put some money on the band but no receipt issued so was concerned if money was actually there (It was I asked for balance after every subsequent purchase). Next proceeded to the lockers, they worked the first time but then couldnt relock it, so had to use the master key, and as there was only one master key available in the park, we had to wait extended periods everytime I wanted to re-enter or lock it. The amount of line cutters was bordering on ridiculous, myself and my partner made sure to turn them around, get in there way etc etc but nobody else seemed to care or was to afraid of confronting these kids. Poor staff are too young or scared to do anything and after 5 hours of this I was getting so annoyed/angry of attempting to stop all these people that I gave up as it was bringing my enjoyment down. They need to put more chains in especially on the family slide tower of 3 and the T5 tower. I shudder to think what it will be like with fast pass as this appears to start at the stairs of the tower, but the queuing area is pretty long before this, so whats to stop people cutting in then?? Average wait time was 40 minutes per ride except for the T5 tower which was much longer. I joined the queue at 5.30pm and 1hr and 40 minutes later finally got on Bombora. Between Tuesday and preview day the only ride I havent managed to get on is T5 as I didnt want to hit that line again! Luckily on preview day I got a bit done. Also the Boomerang bay was cut in half, I so wish they had have created a true rapids like Atlantis Bahamas or Schlitterbahn, could even have it link to over slides Boomerang bay is just too short. Please dont let my story put anyone off, a lot of my issues are teething problems that will get better after the first season. I probably wont go again till school goes back in February as school holidays will be insanely busy. Hopefully in Feb there wont be much school excursions either. I am so so happy that after all this time we have a world class waterpark in this city. I just hope management are out there taking feedback and constantly making changes to make it more awesome.
  6. No idea how. I was at the top waiting and there was a delay. They then told his friend about it, dont think it was too serious though as we were going again 2 minutes later. I managed to somehow cut my finger on the half pipe (though I didnt notice till a few minutes later). Im guessing there are a few uneven edges.
  7. Went to preview last night and it was great though there were a few teething issues. I arrived at 5.30pm and managed to get on 6 rides. There were apparently 7000+ there last night so wait time was about 40 minutes for most rides. Issue is the way the towers are set up. For instance the Whitewater multi-slide complex has 5 seperate slides (including the four lane Breakkers). Now everyone was lining up to go on The Rattler and The Halfpipe and there was no line to get on The Breakers or the other two but you couldnt get past the people and their tubes to get on them until you were three quarters up the tower then it was pretty much walk straight on. I hope they can look at changing the entry point for these rides. There was also the usual kids who get to the very top via their pushy parents and then freak out lol The T5 was broken down the whole night I believe so lineup was huge for the other two. I overheard there is also a weight restriction on the tower complex so they only let so many people onto the actual stairs at a time. That whole 'T5' complex was down for about an hour and a half too. Half pipe and H2GO racers were great but highlight was 360 Rush. Though the guy two before me split his leg open... Will go back again soon I just fear what it will be like at capacity of 20,000 Lastly the carpark at night was so dark. They need a few more floodlights in there and also would love to see them put up some signage along the roads directing people to the park. Other than that though its awesome and should be fantastic once they have had a month or so of operations.
  8. Thanks for the reply Julys. Still no email and by the sounds of others the dates are almost full. Tried calling but after 15 minutes phone cut out twice. Anyhoo will call them in the morning. Have a great time on Wednesday!
  9. Hi Julys, Did you receive that in an email from them? Purchased mine in October but still awaiting the email to book...
