  1. The haunted house is ok as far as haunted houses you find on the road go - a few decent scares did it a few years back. Haven't done anything else on the list, I don't know why I haven't done Skypoint yet honestly - although I still can confirm a storm from there is pretty spectacular - was staying in Q1 a few years back and there were a bunch of storms - even from a lower floor they were amazing to watch.
  2. For us of course - the weather was pretty good actually, just looked pretty miserable. Made the mistake of driving back to Brisbane right in the middle of the storm though.
  3. After visiting today it's certainly strange when the Pandamonium soft style queue is longer than the hard style queue (and I mean, much longer seeing it was almost running with full loads at one point and the hard style queue only had 4-5 people in it). Park was pretty deserted overall. WWW had a few people, most slides were walk-ons, I think the rain drove a lot of people away today. Supertubes was open too despite being closed according to their website.
  4. It certainly sticks out doesn't it... I'm surprised it's even been approved with the height restrictions that I think are in place along there.
  5. Threads like these pop up all the time so probably yes
  6. You will find me at the parks in the coming days then
  7. Very strange to see it like this on a school holidays Saturday! Guess everyone is at the shops or watching the cricket or something
  8. As long as the 'fire' isn't borrowed from Storm I think it'll be amazing
  9. Yeah, Supertubes appears to have been closed the past few days. Strange to see Pandamonium has closed again.
  10. Pandamonium is officially open according to the Dreamworld website, hopefully that means we'll get a few more thrill rides opening in the coming days.
  11. You should be more careful POP, Movie World is in the same theme park chain as Sea World. I'm sure the money you spend to get into the park could go towards any of the four VRTP parks. Beware ?
  12. I could see the coaster as an Aquaman coaster - there is the swamp next to it (we just have to believe it's the ocean), plus a bright blue coaster would look nice at MW. Theming the ground beneath the coaster to a shipwreck or something, have the coaster dive through rocks and stuff, it could work well. How on earth do you ride Storm on a sunny day if that's the way you think?
  13. 100% agree Brad, the Movie World sign needs a bit more life
  14. Lightning bolts for a flash theme perhaps? Stars for WW? Hopefully that means we might be getting some more serious work soon.
  15. N o Go get them yourself if you want them so badly
  16. Ha, if @SunshineTom thinks we're cruel to trolls just wait until he meets Robb.
  17. Nope, it's not a good indication until all the rides are open, peak season starts up, and people actually know the park is open again
  18. Not necessarily, I'd prefer something like lightning run or maverick over MM's goliath.
  19. I don't mind where Surfrider goes At SeaWorld - it fills the blackhole they currently have. But moving it there does cost money and take time. At Wet n Wild - some say it's out of place, but I think it adds a nice bit of variation to the park. When you're sick of all the waterslides, you go ride Surfrider. Plus - it gets any credit whores through the gates to ride surfrider and just surfrider (chances are they'll probably already have a season pass of some sort though) I don't really mind what they do, it could work at either park
  20. I'd be totally up for a helix-esque lighting package. That thing looks awesome in night photos!
  21. People move on. Those who say they'll never go again probably aren't regulars anyway. Today most of the popular rides were closed. I think once these rides are opening, attendance will increase significantly as Dreamworld begin to attract more from the teen and young adult demographic - you need to remember today was probably mostly only those who want to show their support and families with younger kids - that's only a portion of Dreamworld's total attendance. Plus, peak season doesn't officially kick in until boxing day, holidays or no holidays. Within 6 months I feel Dreamworld will be thriving once more. Probably more so than they were before the incident by 2018.
  22. From 7 News: So it looks like Sea World do have plans, and seeing it's two years after MW's coaster it could be big. Definitely many opportunities for Sea World here, if they're only using the land from Vikings I'm thinking along the lines of a family attraction or a small thrill ride. Looking forward to any details we get (although still waiting on MW's announcement ? )
  23. Whether or not you are POP, maybe this isn't the right place for you to be. Parkz is meant to be a positive place to talk about theme parks, not disrespect them like you are. If you are so anti-Dreamworld go join the angry people from the GP who would agree with you and stop wasting our time by reading about every problem you have with the Dreamworld incident.
