  1. All parks excluding SW are closed again today
  2. Sea World was the only park that has remained open today, but Leviathan and Storm Coaster. And with Vortex still closed, that only left Trident and Jet Rescue as the main attractions. Trident has been over an hour and Jet Rescue ranging from 30-60 minutes.
  3. Due to todays severe weather, so far Movie World, Wet n Wild, Dreamworld and WEW have confirmed they won’t be opening today.
  4. Surfrider did have 140cm height requirement and a max of 200cm I believe. You are right about Vortex, however I also think it comes down to it doesn’t look like an enjoyable ride and it just isn’t. It’s uncomfortable, jolly and lacklustre.
  5. Tiger Island has reopened at Dreamworld, leaving the Vintage Cars the only area that hasn’t reopened
  6. It definitely does, and I’m glad they haven’t just left it to continue rotting away (even if it did take them 7 years). Areas like this were much needed at SW, hopefully they add some seating and umbrellas because it’s a very exposed area in the summer. But you know what would’ve been even better there, an Intamin Half-Pipe Shuttle Rollercoaster
  7. The more permanent looking construction walls have been removed and the construction fencing has returned to make more room in this area of the park because of the crowd levels (Photo: TPSN)
  8. That’s a shame to here because management seem to be really pushing operations and making DW the best possible park, while WWW might be getting forgotten (that’s being a bit extreme because they spent a lot of time and money repainting all their slides, etc). However, when the park used to have very good operations and queues were generally very quick, it’s disappointing to hear.
  9. Curious to know why? Not saying you’re wrong, just want to hear your explanation for why you think it’s better.
  10. They did have some when it opened and according to their online store, some of it is still available: https://shop.themeparks.com.au/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage%2Ccollection&options[prefix]=last&q=Rivals* Maybes it’s still sold in park but only in one store and it’s limited stock
  11. I remember it getting 2 hour waits, which was usually to the entry of the indoor queue, but 3 hours… damn I know a lot of people thought this was one of the park best rides, so maybe it’s removal really did have a large impact on guest numbers. But realistically, the ride didn’t have much life left in it anyways and I imagine the cost to bring it back to its day one standards would not have been worth it
  12. It’s been a few years since I visited WWW to ride any of the attractions, but that definitely sounds painfully slow. It definitely never used to be like that. Were they short staffed because they got confirmation that morning that they could reopen? Or is that just how that park operates now?
  13. It has indeed @rappa but for as long as I’ve been going to the parks, I don’t ever remember getting queue wait times like this, even in the peak of summer. Or is my memory deceiving me? DC Rivals had a 4.5 hour queue during the Easter holidays last year. It did only have one train operating, but can you remember in any GC parks history, where a ride has got that sort of wait?
  14. It will be interesting to see what the wait times are like once both Flash and Wizard of Oz open because they should take quite a bit of the crowd, but unfortunately Flash will likely have slow operations due to its low capacity. But it is a fair comment about the lack of Scooby, when that ride is operating at full capacity it can churn through people very well. And considering the indoor queue can hold up to a two hour wait, without it, the park definitely feels it. But also, WWF used to be the highest capacity ride in the park because of how quick they could load/unload, but now it’s probably one of the worst. And on the day that video was posted, WWF wasn’t operating
  15. @Brad2912 how were the crowds/wait times for WWW, considering it was only announced a couple hours before it opened?
  16. According to the Energex website, power has been restored for WWW, so I wonder if the park will reopen today?
  17. Which is probably why (this year in particular), we’ve seen a lot of annual pass and multi-day ticket deals to help get the visitation numbers up.
  18. Gold Coaster is closed today, so that theory of it being on the WWW grid could be true
  19. Apparently (don’t know the full truth to this), the Gold Coaster operates on the same grid as WWW, so we won’t see it reopen until the waterpark does (which I suspect would be by the end of the week)
  20. WWW will be closed tomorrow and ‘some’ wildlife areas will remain closed
  21. Paradise Country to remain closed until further notice
  22. Busy first day of peak period for MW with most rides with a 60-120 minute wait. At SW most rides have an hour wait, but no surprise, Vortex and Trident aren’t operating
  23. Gold Coaster I assume was impacted by some of the fallen trees. Dreamworld Express I’d say will be out until the wildlife reopens. Vintage cars might take longer than the wildlife to reopen due to the smaller trees around that area. Shame DW Flyer is closed, I wonder if all the seat chains got tangled in the wind
