  1. People think it has happened because people are gullible, plus they don't understand amusement rides in general. They think that they're in actual danger, when in fact they aren't. I'm actually surprised by the number of people I know who think that rides are dangerous.

My advice, agree with them. People like that don't deserve to be part of the 'knowing that rides are safe' club. Let them be scared while you sit there enjoying the ride and pissing yourself laughing at them fearing for their lives.

Sounds like a good idea! I'll do that next time :)

whoever told you this OP get them and slap them across the back of the head

There are quite a few people who believe that! It's crazy how these falsified rumours spread!

No this is not true. Who told you this?

No one on here, just some other people that I know.

  2. working in retail people complaining about queues really gets to me haha - we have 4 registers open, but everyone lines up at the one nearest the exit and complains. Or they complain that's is to busy and we should get more operators, just wait 5 or 10 minutes and it will be dead quiet again. Most annoying is when they ask why we bother having 10 checkouts when only 3 or 4 are open at a time.

Sorry about complaining :/ the main reason for the lines was honestly the fact that the TOT2 was declared out of service just around lunchtime, and everyone left to go there. I saw quite a few of the people who were around me in the TOT queue later lining up for lunch. So I really do apologise!

  3. I think that scooby doo is due for a revamp, much like the wipeout is receiving now. If MW put in new animatronics and theming just to spruce things up it would add to the popularity of the ride and give it a longer life span for the future to come. The show room needs an complete overhaul with new lighting and effects. But that so just in my own opinion. And if they closed the ride for six to eight months this could be done quite easily.

It would be really good if they changed some of the track as well! It would be a welcome surprise to anyone who has been on it many times before

  4. That sounds like a good idea - it would allow them the freedom to move away from a strictly immersive adventure, and implement some kick-ass coaster-time (with associated storyline of course).. something HKDL at the very least desperately needs (or they could stick with immersive and go with something in line with Transformers)

I imagine Iron Man and I just see similar storyline to Superman Escape... underground tour interrupted by token bad guy or event, subsequent rescue by superhero (*cue launch), followed by relevant twisting and turning, diving and looping coaster elements before returning to the station...

If you have seen Iron Man 3, it could be based on the part where 'the Mandarin' blows up his mansion.

  5. I hope they don't build Doomsday as it will make Superman Escape and Batwing Spaceshot seem very small. The plan is for a soft style that will slowly go up the tower and slowly come down suitable for people who would like to see the view who aren't thrillseakers.

I understand the idea, but for older people and children, the harness is still probably not appropriate as they would still get scared. If they instead walked up on solid ground I think it would attract a lot more people

  6. To be honest, I think Dreamworld will use the section out the back for a 'Marvel World' to rival MW and DC. The Marvel movies are hugely popular at the moment and as they are stocking their stores with marvel gear, I think the big 10 ride will come sooner rather than later. Maybe in time for Avengers: Age of Ultron? It could just be a licensing agreement (all the merchandise in stores) but I believe it could be part of a bigger plan.

  7. I went to Dreamworld yesterday, and the situation was pretty woeful. Food station near Mick Doohan was closed for an unapparent reason, TOT2 was closed after 45 mins in line and obviously the Wipeout was still closed. Pandamonium also had an issue with getting the harness to lock around an overweight man. This took 10 minutes in itself to sort out. That left 5 of the major rides that were functioning correctly. Although there were the other smaller rides I just ended up leaving at about 12 :(

Just to clarify Tower of Terror 2 broke down

Thanks to Rac2703 for helping me out!
