  1. . Apology accepted. While I may have only made a handful of comments in this discussion of wwf, I have visited Warner Bros Movieworld quite a number of times between 1998 and 2015, and have been on wwf ride a few times each time I came to Movieworld. The last time being January 2015. As I haven't been on it since then, but plan to later on this year or next year. It's been interesting to hear everybody's opinions and thoughts regarding the ride. Hope to see more opinions and thoughts on wwf from a wide range of people - members to this forum or not.
  2. Rio Bravo was actually a really good western movie featuring John Wayne. Also you used to be able to hear the widely quoted paraphrase dialogue from the 1948 film the treasure of the Sierra Madre, "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!" inside at the top of the mountain at the turntable, before going down backwards outside. Could also hear the theme from How the West was Won as you drift through the ghost town. Are various western movie themes still played at these two particular locations of the ride?
  3. Was wondering the last couple of years if they were going to replace the canvas for the Indian tee pee's. Looked a bit weathered, so some new canvas with painted Indian drawings in it would look nice and updated. I wonder if Warner Bros Movieworld have read all of the comments in this discussion, because it helps them to get an idea from different people as to what the general public want for future add-on's to wwf.
  4. Was just wondering if anyone can share a little bit more information of how the ghost town at the very top of wwf is looking now. Was wondering if any work had been done on the timber buildings up there, like if any repairs had been done, or bits added on, or painted. I also recently watched on YouTube a video of the wwf ride called Rio Bravo at Movieworld, Madrid, and was wondering if they too, will upgrade their version of wwf ride. In the ghost town at the top of their version of the ride, there is grass along the sides, instead of a dirt like appearance. Here is the YouTube address to a video of wwf ride, but named Rio Bravo, Movieworld, Madrid. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ_8MKJUllI&feature=youtu.be
  5. In regards to a previous post that I had put on here, I mentioned about getting some people to dress up to look like famous actors of many popular westerns, such as Clint Eastwood, or John Wayne, to be strolling around the wild west falls area leading up to the ride, so that people of all ages can get their photos taken with a lookalike John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. People of all ages, have a favorite movie character or actor, that we would love to have a photo taken with. Who wouldn't want to have their photo taken standing next to a lookalike Clint Eastwood at Movieworld. And, as you are strolling around the wild west falls area, take in a bit of the background music, as some of the background music featured in this area, and while on the ride, was in movies that John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were in. Hey, if all of the looney tunes characters can stroll around Movieworld to meet and greet people, and photo opportunities, what's wrong with western movie characters from famous westerns, loitering around the wild west falls area? To keep the wild west falls area open in the long run, there needs to be a drawcard, otherwise it will end up going the way of the old west in the movies - a thing of the past.
  6. I went on the Wild West Falls ride last January (2015), and before that, way back in 1998. When I went on it last year, I felt as though the speed of the ride was a little bit faster then when I had gone on it back in 1998. The Indian tee pee's in the area before the ghost town looked a bit worn and weathered looking, due to age and Queensland's hot climate. would like it if perhaps in the ghost town area, perhaps they could have had statues of cowboys and horses standing outside the buildings, but I guessing that because it is meant to be portrayed as a ghost town, only the buildings are there. The buildings themselves could do with a coat of clear estapol or something that would protect the timber from further wear and tear. I would also like to see a bit more action in the Wild West Falls area leading up to the little shop and the entrance to the ride. Can't they have a fake statues of cowboys and horses? Maybe even somehow make the old western shops little places that you can walk into, or you can just peer inside the doorway and see a display of how one of those little shops looked back in the 1800's.
  7. I have been to Warner Bros Movieworld on the Gold Coast, QLD, three times now. The most recent time being this year, January 2015. I have to say, my most favourite ride that I continuously go on there, would be the Wild West Falls ride, mostly because I am a huge fan of Western movies. I do however really wish the Wild West Falls area and the ride itself could be upgraded, a bit more. I am guessing they are trying to portray the village and the ride itself as an old wild west ghost town, where the occupants are long gone. But, why can't they have people dressed up as John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, or Gary Cooper strolling around the Wild West Falls village to meet and greet people, especially people who would love to have their photo taken with their favourite western movie actor. How about a couple of lifelike horse statues outside, the ones made out of fibreglass type material. They could also put some props inside the windows of the false front buildings of people playing cards or drinking, or sound effects of an old saloon piano playing, or bar brawls, the typical wild west town. While on the Wild West Falls ride, I noticed while going past the section where there is an Indian reservation, that the tipi's look rather worn and faded probably because of Qld's constant hot weather. There doesn't seem to be any Would it hurt to put a coat of clear gloss over the timber to give it a little more life. I also noticed how the flickering lanterns inside to mineshaft are no longer flickering. When I went on the Wild West Falls ride back in 1999, they were flickering, but I guess they removed them after the minor fire damage. I really, really, enjoy this ride, but I am constantly wondering how much longer this ride will last for. Its been in place for quite a while now, and I worry that one day, they will say, nope, its been here too long, lets either give it a complete makeover, or pull in down and reconstruct something entirely different.
