  1. I'd love to see a return of some older characters from the parks history like Gizmo and some of the lesser used Looney Tunes like they did with older Batman characters for DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains. Maybe some temporary information plaques about former attractions outside their old entrances making up some sort of in park historical walking trail type thing? As much as I'd get a kick out of the idea it might just end up bringing awareness to the lack of magic the park currently has.
  2. Was in the park briefly this morning and saw this.
  3. If that is the actual new disco room, I am beyond excitement
  4. I like the look of the waterfall theming but that entrance looks like a train station
  5. I recently bought a VR One Pass and was extremely disappointed it was printed on the same flimsy plastic film as the VIP pass. I'll give them the benefit of hoping they are just trying to use up existing stock before they order more but I was expecting something more solid for such a price increase.
  6. I think announcement video did a better job than this one. It spends more time highlighting the rides weak story line than the rides many awesome strengths.
  7. By the looks of this the theming seems like it will be in a similar fashion to Green Lanterns flat cutout style. Hopefully there might still be a surprise or two up MW's sleeves for the inside.
  8. I'm personally not a big fan of it as I'd rather have the money spent on something that enhanced the experience (like head chopper scenery, tunnels etc) than something mainly just acting as a glorified billboard.
  9. I just love it! Great concept and a nice change. @Slick Can you convince them let you re shoot Superman MRT video while your at it?
  10. It looks like Sky-Ads has a history of Sea World protests http://www.sky-ads.com.au/?D=58 My personal favorite banner is the Justice for Captives favorite saying "Google the Cove"
  11. Agreed it does look quite cheap. You can see skin between the gloves and the suit.
  12. I could be completely delusional but there was talk about a go-kart ride inside the Hollywood student driver set in between shows. But it does now sound a lot like WnW Buggys. On second look It does make a lot of sense that this is the next toilet block to be referbed.
  13. This couldn't be related to the planed go-karts attraction? Like an up charge booth?
  14. I would have loved to see what could have been done with Storm if Sea World went with an Intamin water coaster instead of the mack model. Think of the lift coming out of the show building then dropping back in and out of the show building superman style. If Dreamworld went in this direction I'm sure they'd have a superior attraction on their hands.
  15. I was stupid enough to drop in to Movie World today to check out Scooby and after two hours of waiting understood the necessity of opening this attraction. It's ugly and disappointing and feels like some temporary fairground ride set up in an empty show stage but I guess they had no choice. The park is packed and anything to suck in a crowd is a good move. A-frame signs are now full size and in multiple locations using very similar wording to as what has been suggested on the forum. Some of the fake wood paneling that was rife with graffiti and general wear has been nicely repainted during the down time (correct me if this happened earlier) suggesting that the station is not an issue.. It was darker inside than the photos but the temporary construction fences were very fairgroundy. A few sounds still played like the laughing guy that spins around and I believe the "scooby doo where are you" in the elevator. The ride camera was still snapping photos leaving the flash to illuminate the building . I saw one "animatronic" in the darkness eerily just sitting there giving a five nights at Freddy vibe which could be said of the whole attraction. It reminded me of when I went on a near abandoned flume ride at night at jerudong park brunei in 2005 but that is another story for another time. The disco room remains as is which leads to the rude shock of tribal music playing as you enter a square black room that over looks the rest of the track. After the final drop the ride halts leaving plenty of time to look over the rest of the ghost train section track until it's time to unload and in my case listen to the lady behind me try to convince her friend that this ride used to have things in it. I'm glad I got to see it in this strange state (it's like ridding it while it was being tested for the first time) and it was truly a spooky coaster making me feel uneasy seeing something so familiar gone without replacement. The sad part was hearing exited children talking about seeing monsters and scooby doo in there and as a kid I would have been greatly disappointed having two hours of a themed queue (and that awful video sans the AOL logo) hyping me up to see nothing. It's all temporary and will be back but I feel it may have been a better used opportunity to remove or cover the scooby branding for this holiday season and have some form of temporary generic name for the attraction and add more lasers/atmospherics projections? something and sell it as a new limited time experience. Again I don't know how much time there was after the decision was made but I feel it would have been cool!
  16. I just feel gutted (no pun intended) I had no idea this was happening! Does anyone have the story on what went down? Can it be shared now it's out in the public? I'm quite shocked that it is running to the public appearing like this, they could of at least shoved some tacky disco lights and smoke all over the place to hide the mess instead of worker lights (as a temporary measure obviously). I get it that they need this open for boxing day crowds but without signage or forewarning it would be quite a spooky coaster finding everything gone! But of course the enthusiast in me wants to head on down to see it in person out of morbid curiosity!
  17. Perhaps the "revenge" in the title is too aggressive for a family water ride in the current climate? Hopefully just a major re-theme? Very confusing, I hope we don't lose those 70's brown fiber glass boats It feels like sitting in a piece of theme park history!
  18. It does sound rather lucrative for repeat visitors like myself but I’m sure there would have to be some form of fair use clause to stop people abusing the system. I thought the link was broken too but it turns out if you hover your mouse over the top the information pops up. No real surprise in the choice of food outlets, I may have just dreamed it but previously did they offer a similar deal but for only ricks cafe? How did that turn out?
  19. I was on GL on Tuesday and had Audio 2 out of 4 times. All the carts I had a chance to look at had the switch set to off but there must have been one turned on. The soundtrack really adds to the experience!
  20. I'd say it's a printed wrap instead of a paint finish. The hatched sections look rather detailed to be just painted on.
  21. Woah! That first version is drastically different than the second! I don’t which one is more cringe worthy but I feel foreign tourists would probably have enjoyed the first one more because of its more Australian feel compared to the vaudeville showbiz revue style of the second. I never knew Australia once had animatronic pizza restaurants.
  22. There is a bit of a facade going up near the toilets. But that is about all I can see thats different! I might be wrong so please correct me this attraction probably doesn't have a roof so won’t the seats be exposed to the elements once it’s installed? But regardless you would cover it with something at close of park. It is really odd they are sitting there like a bunch of old Looney Tune Boats.
