  1. Good luck getting 50 dude, Wipeout.
  2. Hey, you have to admit that John Menzies is looking pretty darn young in the ‘interview’, though the cameraman seems to think he's really filming Blair Witch Project. Truth be told, the person who wrote that site would probably be either banned or flamed heavily had they posted on this site (which reminds me, Superman_escape, punctuate properly, or go over to the official site), but guys, right there is a shot at two free tickets to check the ride out. It’s a skill game, there is no chance involved, so the person who gets the word out the best wins. Tell your friends about this cool new ride, and the really awful website in one go.
  3. Two at Wonderland and the one at Aussieworld for me. Aussieworld's mouse all the way to number one baby!
  4. Apparently the pony rides are so good they have to mention them twice. Still, it sure beats the toilet with a weather cock on the roof
  5. You know what, its great that your so enthusiastic, but how about taking a deep breath, turning off the computer and coming back tomorrow rather then starting a bunch of new topics so quickly. In answer to the question, the people who live in Studio village, behind Movieworld, don't get free entry, nor is there a secret entrance behind Wild West.
  6. If the transfer track is anything to go by (and I know your all thinking WHAT transfer track. I am of course referring to the secret transfer track ), then there should be at least 2.
  7. The first ride I'll have on it will be with someone else at work, who has told me I'm not to go on it without her, so either the staff event or first day off we both get. Hopefully before the boxing day rush all things going well
  8. Drove past today, and yeah, pull through happening, quite cool to see I must say, I was just thinking we were due for a pull through, and there it is . Things are really coming together quite quickly as you can imagine with not much more then a month to go before media day, just hanging out for the staff night now
  9. It’s a very sad passing, and one that certainly hasn't gone unnoticed in the park. Many people who still work at SW remember him, and the positive impact that he had on the park when it was going through the "glory days" of the late 80's. He truly was a great GM and a great man, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, and worked under him.
  10. The last 3 lines of Gazza's post pretty much sum up my feelings on the whole record thing. Rather then the tallest, fastest, why not just focus on best? Superman has hype around it because its a good ride, not because its got the words "Tallest" and "Fastest" stamped all over it, and I think thats something people here really need to have a look at. All DW needs coaster-wise is a smooth, fun coaster with a creative layout. If they can do that, then they'll be pretty set for a while.
  11. If the cable did snap (unlikly, but still...), wouldn't the brake person be able to stop the train anyway?
  12. That sort of thing happens, and is not a big deal even to those involved, much less to anyone not working there. An extinguisher had to be replaced; it’s called day-to-day operations. As such, we don’t really need posts about every aspect of park operations.
  13. Thats so funny Kyle, I really thought you were being sarcastic. Best post so far! Claw is a good ride, but worlds most powerful pendulum was just hype from a press release (and not just any press release: this was really one of Dreamworld's finest creative efforts ever), and here is the offending press release in all its glory: Pure genius.
  14. I say get the kiddies visiting the house get some exercise. Its probably a further walk from Ocean Parade to Blue Lagoon but that doesn't need a buggy service does it? I see your point, but its a bit of a silly one.
  15. What'd they blow that truck up for again? I can't remember what they were trying to prove on that one. Made for good telly though.
  16. It'd be a tight squeeze. Perhaps starting near the skylink station (though that area is tiny, so not sure if anything would fit there) and heading towards the vintage cars and back again.
  17. You have to sit in a simulator to see if you can handle the forces? Ok, so do you have to sit in a different simulator to see if you can handle the G-Force simulator? What a crock, and since those rides only got for about 20 seconds why have a longer simulator ride to check out if you can handle it? I like the changing what the 200 is for too, very classy I must say. If I were you, I would've said that its 200 feet, and apologize for that. Slightly more believable.
  18. Never had that problem on claw. What did it smell like? Coulda been the gardens?
  19. This isn't a real time chat, its a message board; there is ample time to construct proper words here.
  20. You can these days... My favorite has to be the big Potato. Very classy indeed!
  21. Too scary a ride system for a movie like Charlie . I figuered something like a Batman, but with more emphisis on the walk through rather then the simulator. You get given a tour of the factory, and at the end go into a Glass Elevator simulator. Nothing to scary, perhaps a room covered in screens, on a motion base.
  22. Seen a photo of it Paul, don't think I'll tavel up to see it though It’s sad what’s been happening to the Big Pineapple, it’s really not the same place it used to be. Harvest Boat ride was probably the worst $2million any park in Australia has ever spent, as its not exactly the sort of thing that draws people from far and wide, though it should, its so appallingly bad that it was worth at least twice the price to go on it. The place decided to stick true to its educational roots, and it seems in hindsight to not have been the best move. Sadly now its got to the point where the only hope for the place is for Warner Village to buy it and turn the excess land into Wet ‘n’ Wild
  23. Its still there; where the entrance to Harry Potter walk-thrus were, there is now a Harry Potter shop, so it fits in well. Agreed though, something different for the Matrix building would be nice. Matrix was never the strongest attraction, and now that the Matrix craze has come and gone, perhaps its time to move on to something else for there (I still say a Charlie and the Chocolate walk thru would go quite well. And not taken behind the scenes of the movie, but rather into the actual chocolate factory itself). I personally don't think Police Academy should go anywhere, its just too good a show. Maybe update parts of it, but seriously, why fix something that isn't broken? Police Academy is a real "Hole in one" attraction, as it took only one go to get it just about perfect. Even though there is a fair amount of room tied up in PA, I think keep it at least for now. As for actual expansion, you’ve gotta think behind Maverick all the way to the back of Wild West, and depending on if there’s a drainage issue or not, out the front of Batman. As much as I’m not a fan of the studios, I don’t think getting rid of them would be a very good idea. Moving the smaller buildings to the other side of the studios might free up some additional theme park land, but I think we are more or less stuck with those sound stages where they are. Really, even if they aren’t making any major Hollywood films there, quite a few local productions still go through the studios there, and without those studios, the Australian Film industry would be even weaker.
