  1. See here's the thing with this (and I've seen this spoken about with Memberships before, so excuse that the following rant doesn't quite line up with your comment): I have a membership with Jetts gym. I got it about 10 years ago and pay around half of what it costs to go now. I wouldn't for a second describe myself as loyal, I keep it because it's cheap and sometimes it rains for weeks at time and I need to stay active. If they said 'We're changing it so that you now pay slightly less than someone who signs up today, but there are cheaper plans than that you can get", I wouldn't jump onto workout forums and complain, I've been on a good deal for years, and I know full well I only keep it to take advantage of the fact I got a deal when I signed up. If i couldn't be bothered to see if there was a cheaper way of doing things, that also wouldn't make me loyal. Of course everyone on here with VRTP is in the same boat. I also have a similar situation with Telstra where I'm still on some plan that is much cheaper than what you can get now. When they change it, that'll mean I'll have a look and see if there are plans that are better. I'll lament that it I'm sad I have to pay more now, but know I got a good deal for an unreasonably long time. Not act like they need to offer me a better deal than what they're giving me because I've been signed on with them for so long. Guess what? Passes aren't cheap anymore. They've nearly tripled in price since memberships started. The parks are still packed, the peak periods are longer than they've been, and you've been getting a deal the whole time. I hope all people on memberships can adjust to paying close to what everyone else pays. If not, well fair enough. I'm sure they've run the numbers and know that paying the normal price won't be for everyone, and many will drop out, and have decided that is OK, it's worth taking an attendance hit of the people who pay the least. Ultimately, I think the reason I don't care is this: Your complaint shouldn't be that they're doubling the price now and bringing it in line with their other prices, your complaint should be that they haven't raised them in 10 years, which has made it difficult for you to manage your expectations. Just quoted this because I think the outrage committee probably needs to reflect on what things cost.
  2. Honestly if you can't recognise Surfrider is something different, you don't deserve to go on the ride.
  3. I get that this is meant to be a joke, but the peak headway between trains on the NYC Subway are 6mins. I dunno man, I really get the impression that you're one of those people that isn't happy unless they're complaining.
  4. Eh, what? Which capital investment do you think is most reactionary? WoO was in development and announced before DW revealed their plans and it's clearly not in response to ST but has to do with the balancing MW, the Hotel has been on the boil for a good decade now, Atlantis is from the time you say Village weren't investing. Scooby being pretty much completely rebuilt clearly isn't an answer to anything, and Surfrider and Marvin seems entirely to be in response to Scooby's closure and strain on the rest of the park in terms of line up and capacity. All of this is happening at a time when attendance is well above the long term average, and they clearly aren't suffering from competition. The only thing you COULD say is in response to DW is that with DW's low attendance, they're overwhelmed with how many guests they have, and that also they no longer feel WnW needs to compete with WWW so move Surfrider to the dry park that needs the capacity. Like I'm sorry but you're talking out of your bottom here.
  5. You know there's no reason you couldn't put the mid park station next to the plaza too if the redevelopment plans for the middle of the park are yet to be finalised
  6. Roller Coaster of Thesus. They should reassemble all the old bits at Aussie World
  7. That's properly shit if the unique uniforms for Superman and West are gone. The others literally don't matter. Not sure who needs to hear this, but a generic polo that says 'Storm Coaster' or 'Green Lantern' is not a themed uniform. I'll also say, I've HATED the teal trimmed shirts for a long time, along with the dark navy shorts. Worst uniform by a mile, so while i still despise the Generic branding, I much prefer the plain black with the bright shorts. The old black on black looks like something that only a cleaner or a warehouse person should have worn, and the teal didn't really add anything. If the trim was in other colours, and it was park/department specific it could work, but not a fan of just the teal for everyone. Plain black is significantly better for my taste. Still not what I'd go with, but I prefer it. As for non park branding, welcome aboard the bandwagon! I've been driving this thing since about 2010.
  8. Look I think asking how long between dispatches is totally a valid question. Saying thatthe length of the queue is irrelevant, is also kind of stupid.
  9. I feel like the first one is less. I also have no interest in splitting hairs either, I could well be wrong
  10. Bermuda had 2, and WWF has one under 90 degrees. I don't get the hate either tbh
  11. Surely having only one reversing point and starting every second train backwards is stupid? Is this an actual thing or is this people flinging themselves waaaaay off the deep end with speculation based off of essentially no information?
  12. The Intamin curse is a thing, but I feel it's a rather outdated idea these days. It kind of came from that era in the early 2000s when Intamin rides had this nasty habit of ejecting people. Occasionally all manufacturers will build something that turns out to be an absolute biscuit, but Intamin are fairly solid these days.
  13. You can be pro DW and Pro Village. Or be pro one or Neutral the other or pro one and against the other, or negatively inclined to both. It doesn't matter. You want to say that 'you're more neutral than pro' then have at it, you may have a point there. The thing is your tone was off when talking about the map thing. You sounded EXACTLY like a DW simp. You said you couldn't see the map, that also explains it in quite a satisfactory way so fair play really. 👍🏻
  14. @DaptoFunlandGuyWhat i dont understand is what this has to do Village though? Whataboutism is a logically fallacy as much as a strawman is. Also when it comes to the issue of Blue Lagoon, someone posted a map which featured it, and said it's smaller now. It is. That's not a debating point, that's a true statement. That's honestly the answer. That's all that needs to be said. But the modern map at one point did have Blue Lagoon on it, and it was, to be fair to modern Dreamworld, a horrible map then too.
  15. Physically the park is smaller, and the attraction count is reduced. Also building a seperate park next door does not mean the park has expanded. Like I get you want to be all pro DW and whatever, but you can't just Trump it and ignore reality. They're pretty upfront about saying they're reducing the attraction count and land area "right sizing". You can make a good argument for why that's justified, arguing that it isn't a thing makes no sense. How about this nice and simple: the map used to need space for Thunderbolt and Blue Lagoon Rocky Hollow. It doesn't anymore. Also what used to be a themed land is now a single roller coaster, and many places where there was stuff, there now isn't, so as well as actually no shit being smaller, it also feels emptier. The only thing I think is being missed that I don't think you've said, is aside from the point about why its justified, the new map sucks the big one. The design is stark and makes the place look empty. They've used it for years and when it came out I made the comment that you look at it and wonder how you'd fill a day there, and that was when the park had a much fuller attraction count. Look at old versions of the modern map from pre 2016 and you'll see what I mean.
  16. Yeah cool knock down Batwing, part of Superman, and block most of the path to Rivals, and still end up with a slightly smaller space. Nice! Dr. Who ride looking better by the min
  17. I think a Dr. Who ride, because according to most of the suggestions here, that building is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside
  18. Least they didn't let it sit for long and it was super quick. Also not every thing needs an app. Enough already. Also I don't like that cloud!
  19. The thing about public art is sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's not, but 100% of the time stuff designed by council committee is shit, so you have to take a chance, this chance just didn't happen to come off. It was fairly predictable, I mean I saw it coming and commented on what it would look like when you're driving before they built it, but so what? It cost a million or so bucks, which a lot to us as individuals, but it's nothing I'm the grand scheme of things. Not sad it's going, it was pretty shit, but was never outraged by it either. As an aside the one at the airport looks good 👍🏻
  20. Mustn't have looked very often. I work in the area and rarely noticed it not running both sides.
  21. Do you ever worry that you've got to a point in life that you've run out of real shit to worry about, so you just worry about anything, and the stuff you're worried about actually doesn't matter? I worry about this a lot. Maybe I shouldn't or something. IDK
