Not sure when this happened, but it appears the three tiers of Dreamworld annual passes have increased in price. With the Saver Pass $129, Value Pass $139 and the Locals Pass $149

At least they're starting to present a product worth those prices. I feel we got cheap until now, because they knew they couldn't charge full price.

I'd be happy to fork out $149 once Jungle Rush & Rivertown have opened.

Yeah that’s new, when it first opened the pre show if I’m remembering it right would play when the load process started. That’s one very long dispatch cycle then if they are waiting to play the pre show after the restraints are locked.

May have started during the lock check process, we were second last row, I was definitely seated and harness across.

I was watching the queue length and it was holding steady at about the same length. Throughput was definitely low, but it also was a Monday.

as of my most recent visit, Leviathan no longer waits until the preshow is done to dispatch, the preshow now just plays as the train is boarding, making the queue move a lot faster,

When I rode it today, pre-show started once harnesses were locked. Queues were slow, but only two loops of people around the central funnel thingy so not busy either.

First time ever riding it. The story/theme suits that ride perfectly, it's really well told. The 'cave paintings' in the circular queue set up what's coming. And f*ck that coaster is full on. Definitely how I'd imagine trying to ride a sea monster might be. I regret not buying a pass when it first opened now.

I hope both major parks exceed that level of story telling with their new rides this year.

  4. Flash was never going to sell passes leading into Christmas, it's filler at best.

Wizard of Oz and Jungle Rush both will drive sales. Comments on the Movie World post already have people wanting merchandise.

Both also have the same company on theming construction, we'll get to see a very good comparison between the two parks designers and budgets.

With both precincts due around the same time, I think both sites will throw money at it if necessary, to be completed on time. They won't want down the road getting a leg up.

Should be able to manually add the barcoded number in the VRTP app and add your photo in after selecting that ticket on your profile.

No option for photo on the Android version. It just added the ticket, tapping the ticket then just loads the bar code full screen and brightness.

I'll allow extra time to do it at the gate.

  6. I was considering buying passes as Christmas presents, but the prices were too high to get five. All recipients live an hour north of Brisbane too.

Loosing the events they'd probably not attend anyway, has this back on my radar. Visiting at the peak of peak also doesn't appeal either, so I'm sweet with the block out dates and $200 saving.

  7. So there's been a bit of discussion on the ride building and its location. I haven't gone back through it all, so this may have been discussed already.

Looking at these photos, to me the placement of the ride building blocks the view of the out of place Sky Voyager design from the ride and more traditional designs of the entry building, the shops under the shade, restaurant and ice cream parlour, from the new ride.

Is it the best solution? Probably not. Sky Voyager should have better fit Dreamworld. But the new ride requires a building for its equipment, so this is a solution. Viewed from Sky Voyager looking back towards the Claw, it probably fits in quite well too.
