  1. Close the park and put Kenny & Belinda to work on the Gold Coast as Meter Maids. Dreamworld legacy intact!
  2. Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but the Wonder Woman film is released in Australia on June 1st. I believe this is the coaster theme and think Movie World will make an announcement to coincide with its release. So expect an announcement then. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451279/releaseinfo
  3. They're donating $25 for each guest. Seems kind of wrong. Would have thought they'd be donating 100% of all admission tickets and $25 for passholders over the re-opening weekend. "Over this charity weekend, Dreamworld will donate $25 for every guest and passholder through the door to the Australian Red Cross. These funds will be distributed to the families and those most affected by the tragedy through the GIVIT Appeal Independent Distribution Committee." https://www.dreamworld.com.au/park-info/dreamworld-reopening
  4. A full-circuit thrilling Wacky Worm for the kids - at least 3 laps. You heard it here first. It will be placed in the new Wacky Worm Land and will be Australia's first Virtual Ride with VR Goggles making the ride the most thrilling in all of Dreamworld.
  5. Good news for Sea World - there's a cheap B&M that's for sale that would be perfect for the space. It's hardly been used, in excellent condition, has on-board audio and would be the biggest looping coaster in Australia. And it's painted white :-) http://www.italintl.com/detail_page.php?record_id=1793
  6. Not sure the date you're visiting but keep in mind It's Thanksgiving week from November 17 to 25 so lots of people will be on holidays. The park will likely be very busy on Saturday unless it's raining. Get the Platunum - It's $105 (only $30 more than Gold). I'm guessing you wont be visiting the park in the next 5 years so just spend the extra $ - you wont regret it.
  7. Another Atlantis..the cheaper version.....from Sea World San Antonio.
  8. Having ridden Leviathan and Behemoth over 10 times last Saturday, I can confirm the ride experiences are nothing alike. Leviathan is all about height & speed, while Behemoth is about the airtime.
  9. With the direction Dreamworld is going, I'm sure it'll be a disappointment.
  10. They couldn't go wrong with this. Costs about $20mil. http://rcdb.com/4147.htm
  11. Is Ardent managed by the Sunway Hotela & Resorts jokers or maybe they are DW's "consultants"? Sure looks that way!
  12. Consumers are waking up to the rip-off that Dreamworld is. They are finding better things to do with their time and money. I agree that DW are resting on their laurels and are just not investing in decent attractions anymore. Considering you can get a days ticket for $45.99 (which is about AU$50) at o/s parks like Cedar Point!
  13. This whole downward spiral has really irritated me over the last 10 years. It just breaks my heart to see how this once great Australian theme park icon has turned into this dump. This is just my opinion and why I think that Dreamworld will probably not be around in 10 years time. While Ardent/Macquarie continue to own Dreamworld, don't expect any major capital injections for things like coasters or expansion. They're shackled by their ownership structure and have to pay rent to their trust every year no matter how they perform. This probably precludes them from investing large amounts of money. There just doesn't seem to be a proper master plan in place, other than WWW's next phase. The place will likely continue in its current direction. A new owner (not a listed unit trust that it has to pay rent to) needs to take over. Anyway, I'm not sure about the zoning situation and whether the council will alter it, but as I understand it Dreamworld has a lot of undeveloped land that is just waiting to be developed. As a previous poster mentioned, the place will probably turn into another Wonderland. That is, it'll likely shut down and land sold off for a residential/resort development and/or an extension of the Sanctuary/Hope Island golf resort complex. The land is just too valuable not to go in this direction. What a great return for unit-holders that'll be! The writing is on the wall for this place. Anyone who doesn't see this happening in the future is a lot more optimistic than I am. As I see it the theme park will probably close down but WWW will remain. I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong but this just seems the direction they're going.
  14. Gold Coast..... "Nominated by Walt Disney Attractions, we were appointed by the Star Land Company, the Australian Government JV company, as the masterplanners and concept design architects for the proposed Disneyland Australia set within the $2.7 billion Star Land Project located on the Gold Coast Highway and rail-link between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in South-East Queensland" http://www.jpi-global.com/design_information.html#disney
  15. Back from the dead...now with pictures and masterplan.... http://www.mousetimes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39186 and this http://www.jpi-global.com/design_information.html#disney then this http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2009/09/...proof-that.html
