  1. Statement from Dreamworld: "The new car is definitely lighter and faster. These days materials no longer need to be as big and bulky to do the job. Take mobile phones for example." And Dreamworld has been saying for a while that it will be lighter... It seems confirmed but I'm not sure, so I wouldn't go saying that they haven't said anything yet.
  2. Yes, I'd like to see these added to the list- also, Illuminate *should* count as a show shouldn't it?
  3. Must've been denied then. Personally if it was charged entry I wouldn't think it would be worth it- 7 RESTAURANTS. COME ON. Not to mention most likely upcharge go-karts and an arcade... well okay so I love arcades, but I hope they don't just go and slap a bunch of run-down crap games in there, and I also hope that they don't make %90 of the games those motorcycle ones (if they did go ahead with this).
  4. Yep sure, just give me a minute and I'll find it.. AH YES! it's called a 'pipeline' coaster here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pipeline_roller_coaster They seem to be an extremely rare coasters, so if you can go on one, tell us all about it!
  5. Don't think I'll go to this- I'm VERY faint-hearted XD If I did, though, I'd probably cosplay a bit(working on one now)... Screamworld IS on during Halloween, right? I'll go then instead (i prefer dreamworld anyway)
  6. Oh, that's good- seems they're giving it the much-needed refurb. Having never been on ToT before I've never seen the queue but I've heard it's rather bad... So excited for the relaunch ^O^
  7. Ah, okay. The first time we thought we heard loose bolts, my friend in the back (who was holding on to the door) thought it slipped open for a moment. We only heard the sound once completely upside down, when the wind was whistling past. Next time I go on if it's still there I'll tell the op, thanks for the advice Yeah, I wish... I wish WWW could expand... (first park EVER that I went to, love the memories XD even though the park isn't very old) Actually, that doesn't sound like they're copying WnW, isn't WnW getting 2 FlowRiders? WnW seems to be making WWW look bad by copying their rides but making them more extreme. Besides, where did you get this information? I don't really believe this story...
  8. Haha, yeah... I think I saw a bunch of wood planks on top of the structure as well, so that made me think that they were removing parts.... Also I hate to be off-topic but I don't want to start a new thread.... today on the Reef Diver with my friend, our first and second ride of it was fine. But on the third and fourth time, we heard the sound of loose bolts (her dad's an engineer or something so she knows the sound)- is it something to worry about or if we experience it again should we tell the ride op?
  9. Ah, I see; I suppose I was overthinking it too much. Thanks for the heads-up.
  10. Today I needed to go to the toilet before my first time on the Claw (which was AWESOME) and noticed that the Flowrider was fenced off. Near the bathroom entrance you could peek through a bit, and from what I remember the surface was pulled back, and the bottom half was bare so you could see the wood structure... Would this mean they're removing the Flowrider? Don't have pics yet but a friend lost her favourite jumper at DW so we may have to go back again this weekend, and I may be able to take photos then.... Do you think they're going to put a different attraction in to outdo WnW and MW in some way? Do you think it's a good or bad move?
  11. Hmmm... my friend (who's the one that's trying to force me on ToT) said that if the line's too long we don't have to do it That's good- we were hoping to go on rapids and log ride once we're done with www, since we'll still be in our swimmers XD That's what we've been hoping for- we hope that we can practically get the whole of www to ourselves for the day weather over here in brissy looks nice and sunny, too~ Considering how long you were there for, it sounds like you could get on the rides in a good amount of time Going at 10 today- so excited!
  12. Thanks for the helpful advice! Might pop in to Dreamworld first and do the log ride and river rapids and check the status of the queues for the other rides and if they're not too long we might as well go then
  13. Haha, personally I don't think any of us want to go on the Giant Drop- though the 'thrillseeker' in my group of friends is thinking about it XDD Would any other of the Big 6 rides be a bit busy? (I still think Motocoaster will take forever)
  14. So tomorrow, when it's still the Ekka holidays, 2 of my friends and myself are going to Dreamworld + WWW. First; will it be quiet? I'm guessing it will at WWW (which is why we wanna go, heheh), but one person in our group has never been to Dreamworld before, so, as much as we hate it, we're taking her on the Motocoaster- which will (maybe) take forever, considering it's the Motocoaster we're talking about.... Also, how should we go about making a custom itinerary of sorts? We can go on any of the rides at WWW with ease (except for the girl who's never gone before... she's so tiny, only 139cm! X3), but what about DW? We want to go on the ToT before it's closed for a bit (yaay refurbishment), and we want to go on the Claw, the Cyclone (well, i might not do it... still a wuss! >_<)... The only ride we're not very comfortable going on is the Wipeout and Giant Drop (though the OTHER girl can ride the Wipeout w/o problems)... Is there a peak time for each of these rides to go? We want to visit the Game Site too (we love DDR)... is this too much in one day, or since it's the Ekka holidays will it be fine? Speaking of the rides- how will I get over my fear of big rides? I'm scared of heights and I REALLY want to go on the Cyclone, but whenever I watch the rollercoaster from WWW the height and the screaming scares me off a bit- I almost went on the Claw once too, but didn't for the same reasons. Is there a way to somehow 'delude' myself into jumping into the line and riding the rides without hyperventilating? Haha sorry for my questions XD I go to DW about once a month and always go on the same rides, I just want to venture into new ones
  15. Heading to DW tomorrow with a couple of friends, guess we better go on it before the backwards car is gone forever, huh? XD
  16. Oh, get me a Hatsune Miku figma while you're there Nah jk. (need to save up for a miku figure though...) Japan has some pretty cool rides, like this one I saw on Wikipedia (forgot the name of it) the coaster is basically a "cage"... but it's still a coaster. ...that doesn't make much sense, does it? On another note, yes they need to fix the Motocoaster! If that's the case, the whole of Rivertown should be refurbished... seriously, I love DW and WWW so much but their theming is a bit... wack They need to fix the capacity on the Motocoaster, it seems even on quiet days it takes about an hour to get onto the ride...
  17. XD I never found any rides over $10 (though it says on the website that there are). The max I've ever had to pay was about $5.... but since it's the Ekka and I'm moving away next year I might as well enjoy it
  18. Hey all! I was surprised there was no topics about the Ekka yet, since it's coming up... I'm a Bris person, and I was a wuss about rides until the beginning of this year, so I never really went on Ekka rides.... What's your favourite ride at the Ekka, and what's you favourite thing to do there? Let the discussion begin!
  19. I went to Dreamworld on Saturday and noticed the frame for the new tunnel too. Surely if they're going to do these refurbishment, the ride would be closed for at least a week? Not many people were on from the looks of it though, when I was watching it from the Motocoaster only about 6-8 people went up... Maybe that has to do with it?
  20. Ah, I see That makes sense. The way I saw it, adults with kids would probably go a lot since right now Dreamworld is the fashion with kids (well in my suburb at least ) Thank you! That's more out of habit then anything else :3
  21. I'm surprised there's a decline- maybe it's just with my group of friends but all my friends are always talking about the wanting to go on the Wedgie and are always talking about how awesome DW rides are (I love the park too )... I'm in Grade 6 at the moment (yes I'm 11) and Dreamworld and WWW is always the more preferred choice than MW or WnW, though most haven't visited WWW I've also noticed a lot more birthdays coming up for me at DW/WWW... If the kids want to go, wouldn't that mean adults would want to go, too?
  22. Oh, that's good! Makes me feel so much better about the ride Oh god yes, I remember when I last went I gave it a shot- I only started screaming when my seatbelt came off, haha But after that ride I left, it was getting late and I felt pretty sick as well (not to mention my hands hurt like hell trying to hold on). So... if I can survive the Reef Diver, I can survive the Claw, which therefore means I can survive the ToT? ...Geez, Reef Diver should be replacing the MotoCoaster on the Big 6 XD
  23. Oooh, okay. That friend of mine is going on about how the Claw is 'relaxing', I don't believe her anymore, haha. When I went the other day the big scare factor for me was that it goes most of the way up the tower (that would be at least 30 storeys up, I think?), but I have an Annual Pass so next time I go I'll give it a spin
  24. Ah, thank you! Yes, the one I went on was the one in the second picture... I think I went in either 2006 or very early 2007... Wish it was still there now, not the best fun there but I still liked it! Thank you so much for the information! As for the ToT, I think I will go on it next time (need to force myself on the Claw first though!) Do you 'lose your stomach' on that ride? Oh, one more question, is the Claw similar to a "pirate ship" ride? If so I don't think I should go on it, those rides make me feel sick
  25. Several years ago I remember going to WnW for my birthday and going on a ride... you entered a cave, and I think the slides were light blue, and I think it was close to the racer (can't remember the name of that either). I know it's not much information, but does anyone know what ride it is and if it's still available there? I don't think I've seen it anywhere on the website... Also, what would the experience on the Tower of Terror be like? I used to be a wuss about going on any rides and have 'started' going on rides but right now the most I can force myself to go on is the Motocoaster and such (and everyone knows how crappy that is). A friend tried to force me on when I went yesterday and I just couldn't do it... for someone like me, how would that feel? I have a fear of heights as well, which also doesn't really help much... replies to the second paragraph have been relocated here http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=5206
