  1. I haven't been on HWSW since it was called the Cylone in 2008. I rode it on the weekend - It is a lot rougher than I remember - it reminds me of the Thunderbolt in its last years. I wouldn't ride on it again, it was not fun at all and it gave me a headache. I'd love Dreamworld to rebuild a Thunderbolt II, faster and smoother, including the iconic loops. Doubt it will ever happen though.
  2. Also if you do go to Lego Store in Abu Dhabi, it's at Yas Mall, which is adjacent to Ferrari world. Two of the best rollercoasters I've ever been on (Forumla Rossa and Flying Aces). So it might be worth it!
  3. No, you missed my point entirely. Of course Lego is a popular product, but it's future lies in being in major shopping centres (eg Bondi Junction, Parramatta, Chermside, Carindale etc). I don't know why you'd make a special trip to Dreamworld when you can buy everything online. I'm not saying there shouldn't be a store at Dreamworld, I just said I don't get all of the hype. This from a kid who grew up playing lego (do let me know if they start selling vintage 80s space lego)
  4. I don't get what all the fuss is about. I (literally) poked my head in on the weekend and it's just a standard lego store you see overseas, such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. They also aren't letting customers in from the park side, so you have to get a stamp out and line up outside. I couldn't be bothered. I know I saw the opera house pack in Dubai last year, and I remember it being a lot cheaper than A$500
  5. To be fair, I think there is something wrong with the Giant Drop. I don't believe it's unsafe though (maybe too safe if anything) I was there on Sunday, the GD was closed about 12pm due to "engineering issues" and they told us to come back later in the day. After a few hours in the waterpark we came back and it was open. When we were about to launch the computer said no, the operator was very frustrated and he explained it had been happening all day. When the engineers came they said something about the ropes not retracting properly? Not sure exactly. They did a test run and then let us ride it. We were at the top longer than normal, maybe a minute or so, but I think they were just checking every thing was fine. I've got no concerns about safety but seems there are some issues with the giant drop. Maybe they rushed the reopening of it.
