Today I learned that Dreamworld is located on the Gold! Coast.

The problem with the island is that it's now classed as a wetland. Getting approval and provisions in place to build something like a coaster on that is a nightmare and a half. With the rails still sunk in the river though, it does make things a little easier to to put another boat style ride. The whole thing is essentially just a write off though which is why it's become the way it has.

There isn't too much information out there about the Creature Cruise but what is available, is being tracked down and put in one place.

This is definitely something that's being looked at because, as you said, they desperately need a water attraction. It's just a matter of finding the right one. If not a well themed log ride, a chute type ride that provides some moisture and fun for the whole family would still work. Also I think they want to avoid any free floating vessels after TRR so any new water rides would be ones that run on a track.

So... can we visit carparks again?

Also the 3 stage roadmap has been updated twice since it first got released so they are obviously still figuring out the best way to go about reopening. Things could easily change. Hell, for all we know, this could lead to round 2 and even worse lockdowns than the first round.

It's a lot easier to update the image of the map and reupload it to the website than to order 100,000 more maps. If you want to be technical, it would be even easier again to just get it right the first time... but we all know Dreamworld are still working on that whole "getting it right the first time" thing

Also the new government regulations regarding amusement devices and their maintenance aren't affected by Covid. If the ride isn't operating and the park is closed but plans to re-open, they still need to complete their mandated 6 monthly and yearly maintenance
