Yeah well I keep track of their maintenence all the time and basically the corkscrew is closing for just 4 days, the first closure since 2015 when the rainbow was painted on the track. By the way, if you look at Rainbows End park map and park signage you will also notice most of the signs just call it “roller coaster” with only some references to the name Corkscrew on their website. So yeah definitely needs to be renamed rainbow rider as suggested.

Theme Park Maintenance Schedules 2017

Went in the pouring rain in June. Was operational. Last 2 months not operational. Sucks -
Well. Their Gyro swing is awesome, brings in so many people to their park. Nothing is down for maintenance very often, around 1 week maximum per ride per year. It's looking far more cleaner, the corkscrew recently got a paint job to get rid of all of that rust, but it's still as bumpy as it used to be. You should visit the park sometime, it's much better than it was 10 years ago.

I always find it so sad when the Corkscrew at Rainbows End is simply referred to as "The Roller Coaster"

Does any one know why the bucket no longer tips water out at Pipeline Plunge? -
I went to whitewaterworld once in june with those kind of forecasts except it actually did rain (poured in fact almost the whole time) and there was literally only ONE other family of 3 at the park. Not even joking. Compared to going to wet n wild in that weather there are still waits. however lately it seems to have improved, went to WWW last week, hydrocoaster had queue to the BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS. Compare that to the wedgie which had no one. Lifeguards are always so happy when someone goes on the wedgie, normally they Hi Five you.

I hopped on the Dreamworld express a few days ago to check out the current state of the log ride. It is looking very reasonable. No maintenance crews seemed to be there the day I went (although it was a Friday) HOWEVER a lot of the wood on the drop section looked as fresh as a daisy which is awesome to see. The bottom of the drop is cut open and there is a MASSIVE hole there. Also a bunch of bits cut open around the rest of the visible track however it looks like progress is being made. Perhaps the first school holidays of 2018 it might reopen? -
So you would rather me take a picture of the vomit then?
-
I have been at MW for the last 2 days and have had a total of 4 people vomit while I was in the queue over the day. You can see all the things they have been eating all over the floor of the train. It looks yummy.
-
Rivals closed completely today due to technical issues for about an hour. Only one train operating. Lots of people vomiting so large delays.

By the end of the year according to DW -
Going to Gold Coast on next week. Can someone please let me know about how busy the parks have been lately? Went to Dreamworld in June and it was deserted, no waiting, just what I wanted. Now I am thinking about Movie World and Wet N Wild with a 7 day pass. Have these parks been busy lately? How long roughly would the wait be for Superman or Arkham? Obviously DC Rivals will be a long wait, so I won't expect much there. I am aiming for a maximum of 15 minute wait on each ride. If I go on a weekday could Movie world achieve this? And has dreamworld still been deserted lately? Thanks in advance.

And there goes another big thrill ride, which was supposed to reopen in 2 weeks. Honestly I'm starting to get quite frustrated with this theme park. Especially with the Wipeout, yes it will probably reopen, however they are just taking way too long to do it. It doesn't take them that long to reproduce components even if they are making them overseas. They just seem quite understaffed in their engineering department. They have way too much to do, and are just being very slow at completing everything. The Tail Spin, a ride from 2014, should not take three months to maintain. I bet the TOT won't reopen anytime soon either, I am waiting for that to get pushed back also. -

More pushing back dates for major Dreamworld rides. TOT was due for tomorrow. This has now been pushed to the 1st October. Wipeout due for 26th October, pushed back to 31st October. Gingy's pushed back for 1st October, was due tomorrow. Honestly Dreamworld has some of the most inconsistent maintenance schedules. Very disappointing. -

The website was updated frequently yesterday. This includes the removal of the Vintage Cars dates and also the removal of the Pandamonium closure day, and also they pushed pack a date on one of their kids rides. -

The vintage cars are now CLOSED until further notice. Someone told me they are going to be open once a month like how the steam train used to be? Is this true? -

So how were the vintage cars today? -
This is off topic which is why I am posting it here. I have a couple of questions regarding employment at GC theme parks as I plan to attend Uni in the GC in 2020. 1) Is there a large waiting list? For the ride attendant, cleaning and desk jobs (the low paying jobs). 2) Are the hours generally suitable for a Uni student? As most want large flexibility. 3) How often do jobs come up for the low paying jobs? 4) If I start learning mandarin now would I be far more likely to get a job? Thanks.

Exactly right. The ride was apparently just down for maintenance. -
A memorable ride at Rainbows End will be closing at Rainbows End on the 19st of Aug, the Pirate Ship! This is a sad time for many New Zealanders, as for some of us this is our first theme park ride we had ever been on. I personally are shocked that they would announce a closure so suddenly. On the bright side though, they will be building a new attraction there which will open in 2018. Remember when Chris talked about adding a dark ride? Perhaps it could be built be on this site. I hope whatever will be put there is as good as some of the major thrill rides! (Let's hope it's not a kiddie ride like AA). I am very pleased to see that Rainbows End is expanding and improving quickly. It's just so sad seeing such a fond memory go. Very little pirate ships left in the world now.

Question: is the Wedgie only open on Weekends or is it down for maintenence? It's been like this for around 2 weeks now. By the way, TOT and Hop and Hoot closed early!
