  1. Have to agree with @Locke here. Would love to see expansions to the African wildlife around Queensland. Sure we have native Australian zoo's but nothing like the expanse of Taronga. If it could be done it would be amazing for the wildliife conservation projects. Possibly a little prejudice though as in my eight years in Australia I've never been to Australia zoo! Yet Taronga was first on my to do list in 2010 haha. And Queensland zoo although a nice attraction I feel it could be a lot better.
  2. Soooo gorgeous! I can't wait to go and see them this weekend. DW got some heat when they announced it (uneducated animal activists screaming that transporting them would be stressful) but DW handled it brilliantly. And @Theme Park Girl thanks for the photos...those Lions do not look stressed in the slightest!
  3. A job well done @docoaster your rendition immediately came to mind when I first saw the ad some great skills there my friend!
  4. It was an absolute blast tonight. The park staff were friendly as always and it was great to see so many people in attendance! I have one criticism - went on shockwave and felt the additional harness is a little OTT safety wise. Used to go on that all the time and the back rest was always sufficient IMO. Took a lot longer to start also as the two staff member have to go around and strap everyone into the seatbelt style harness. I'm all for safety I just didn't think in having that added it made me any safer... Obviously with so many in attendance the ride wait times were longer which was expected. Fully behind the marketing team for putting on a great event and I thoroughly look forward to the next one! Longest I had to wait was around 40 minutes for sidewinder. Personal highlights - Kevil Hill was awesome and I feel the claw was going for a little longer tonight which was great
  5. As a 'plus' size gentleman I've always found DW rides a lot more accommodating in comparison to MW rides. Having played rugby in the past I have large muscle build legs which prevents me from riding Scooby doo for example. I have monthly premium passes to both and will continue to go to both. I actually prefer DW for the whole experience and friendliness over movieworld. I mean there is more than just a few decent thrill rides there. It's a day of family fun. And I for one am actually really looking forward to the reopening of some of the other attractions there I never got to ride in the past. Sure Ardent and the DW board need to do *something* but I agree with the many that making it a more family friendly environment will pay off more than a new hyper (as awesome as that would be to see two hypers within one city) long term.
  6. Let me be the first to squee with excitement!
  7. Possibly people passing through that either don't wish to use the service station or delve in to Coomera and surroundings? (I know the roadhouse cafe is there but its a little further out) With the right amount of advertising this could be a success!
  8. Oh wow. It looks amazing and definitely made good use of the space from the looks of things, thanks for the photos magician! I'm planning on visiting DW tomorrow (who wouldn't for 501st Legion??) and hope it is fully open for pastries.... *drools* Sorry, long time browser, first time poster, I'll do the obligatory hello in the proper post.
