@Dean BarnettDo you know what a family coaster is?
What would you consider Hagrid’s at USO to be? Widely regarded as a family coaster and has a spike w a switch track…

It’s interesting with WWF. They can almost get away with the awful nature of the effects on the ride considering the theme.
Definitely agree it’s in major need of a re-haul. Easily one of the best themed rides in the country and it’s in a sad state of affairs..

Flash has started going vertical within the past day, my guess is it will all be up by the time Superman reopens.
My god Superman needs a repaint.

Really clutching at straws there with the “first ride within a ride in the southern hemisphere” remark…
They’re not wrong, but really? 😅

Been almost a year since i’ve been here! Thought i’d throw in my two cents..
Surfrider going to either MW or SW is a big plus for either park, but the idea of putting it in the middle of Superman? Awful.
When you walk into the park, the first thing you see is Superman’s huge top hat standing tall and proud - it’s the signature entrance and what everyone knows the park for. Why ruin that with a tacky one-trick-pony that will stick out like a sore thumb? Will totally ruin the aesthetic.
Sea World is definitely the logical option here.

If White Christmas and Spooky Nights were selling out every night at a rapid pace, and carnival isn’t, that’s not something to blame on covid, it’s obviously lack of interest within the public. This is obvious when looking at how well White Christmas (which was only a month ago) went and how fast the tickets sold, the last nights of the event also had the exact same covid restrictions we have now, so that definitely would’ve effected the final nights of the events which it didn’t
White Christmas wasn't plagued with Omicron. We didn't learn much about it until just before Christmas. Cases weren't in the 50,000+ and we weren't losing any lives. Totally different ballgame now.
Not to mention the vaccination mandate wasn't introduced until halfway through the event.

Are you referring to Corroboree that was initially funded by the govt and now that the funding has ceased has recently been removed from the park with no references to it present anywhere anymore? If DW was truly interested in First Nations matters, it wouldn’t have rebadged Corroboree as “Wildlife”. If they want to make a stand on the Aus Day issue - don’t do it silently - explain why you are ignoring it and state your corporate support for #changethedate.
To my recollection none of our parks have ever had any Australia Day festivities, so there isn't a need to make a stand on the issue. No need to poke the bear.

Seems quite strange that, to my knowledge, they didn’t offer any Australia Day events or activities but are putting on a Waitangi Day event.
Considering there is an entire area dedicated specifically to the Indigenous Australian culture, I think it would be in incredibly poor taste to host an Australia Day event given the current climate... wouldn't you?

Boy oh boy i cant wait to ride the Stell Tiepan 360° Tailwhip!
Considering in peaks backwards for DCR can hit $25, this is totally justifiable.

Fantastic news, this will be an incredible ride.
Thought it's worth commending Dreamworld and their marketing team for this one - they've truly set the standard on the proper way to market rides in Australia from here on in. Everything has been executed perfectly and they haven't missed a beat. Really hope this is a fresh start for the park and just a taste of what's to come.

Would have to be over 27m at least? Gravity Wave down in Funfields clocks that...

Rivals is sitting at $20. I haven't seen any one on backwards in awhile. price must be too much for the GP to even bite.
Last time i visited only 1 seat was operational... which is also a huge deter for people.

That's pretty fair. Considering DC Rivals backwards seat has seen the $25 figure before. Correct me if i'm wrong but that's what it currently is?

Can you blame them though? They'll be wanting to get as much return on their investment as possible - not sure they'd love sending out half empty cycles a week after opening a la Vortex. March/April is a solid bet that domestic tourism will be back in full swing.
I'm genuinely surprised DW are pushing ahead with ST's opening this year.
If i'm honest, i think DW might be on the money with this one...
Both VIC and NSW are hitting their vaccine targets 1-2 months before Christmas. There genuinely could be a good chance the borders open for the fully vaccinated - and if that happens in time for Christmas, there'll be an enormous influx of tourists from the south. I can dream right?

Hamster? So it’ll be a powered spin? I thought it’d work with the gravity, speed and movement of the train
It's a joke. It's a free spin.

Do you think LPM will respond with Sydney getting the Big Dipper back? Like they torn down the wooden one in 1989 then they thought about replacing it with a boomerang but that fell out at the last minute and it went to Wonderland Sydney.
But I wonder if LPM will respond with a new coaster? Like would they get another single rail coaster just to compete?
Why? They aren't competitors.

When did all this happen? I must've missed it.
Seaworld rented the Sky Flyer for a period of time as (jet rescue?) was closed for an extended amount of time, and the only other "adult" ride was Storm.

An apology letter has just gone out to all Passholders explaining the large number of rides down for maintenance.
Passholders have been given a free Winterfest Park After Dark entry as an apology gift.
Wow. Kudos to Dreamworld for that kind of response.

but it’s an average hyper coaster by world standards
I would argue - judging just the coaster itself, it's one of - if not, the best - hyper coaster out there. It is absolutely a world class ride.

Is Dronkey back?
I just can't shake this feeling like maybe the dreamworks agreement is coming to an end...
I'm not sure i agree. Typically contracts would be on a year-by-year basis, right? Dreamworks opened in March of 2012, t's almost June 2021. Would it be normal for an agreement to end at a different time of the year to when it was instigated?
If the agreement truly is coming to an end though, that's a massive blow for the park. It's easily the best kids area in Australia, both attraction wise and theming. Hopefully something decent enough would be lined up to replace it..

Seems they’ve dodged any of the *actual* problems.
Unless i’m confused, what would be the benefit of closing batwing to “align with the construction”? Is it not just a footpath in that general area?
Keen to know what all of these theming enhancements supposedly are too..
