  1. I know personally know one of the former lead designers from Premier. He used to push for shuttle launch coasters and was the person who mostly looked after that side of things. As I mentioned, former lead designer, he was poached by another popular company in recently years *cough* Intamin *cough* so Premier don't work as much with the shuttle coasters anymore.
  2. I just checked out the Proslide flying saucer. Oh man! I'm not a water park guy but that looks like loads of fun. If AW did something like that, I'd make the trip to WA.
  3. Every other rapids ride in the world has either extra slats or a rubber conveyor belt. Why Dreamworld thought it was a great idea to remove the slats is beyond anyone.
  4. I'm planning on going down again in the next day or two. I'll check it out and take a video so everyone can see where it's at.
  5. I was there and rode it a couple of days ago. It's making more strange noises in this video than it was when I was there. I thought the creaking and groaning was supposed to go away, not get worse?
  6. This is a very interesting looking ride. The gondola is spinning a lot faster than I would have expected which looks like many funs. I'm undecided about the slow swing time though. It's slow to ramp up to full force which means it has a longer ride time but also means it only completes 1 full revolution. I would have loved an extra revolution or more swings close to a full inversion but overall I can see this being a massive thrill drawcard for Aussie World and I can't wait to get up there and ride it.
  7. At the press conference Craig mentioned that they had the ability to change aspects of the film if required to suit differen't situations, e.g Christmas message and added scenes or effects. So hopefully they have changes in mind for later down the track.
  8. TOT2 also has metal wheels on the metal track which causes the super loud roar. Rivals has polyurethane(?) wheels like most modern coasters these days, which makes it a lot quieter.
  9. I'd just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year! I hope it's been a good holiday season for everyone
  10. The Film Theorists also just did a video covering the old Rankin and Bass Christmas cartoons and it explains how bumble got his name
  11. I remember there was a sign on the temporary fencing to call them for salvage enquiries. Maybe you might be able to pick something up?
  12. Just to clarify, they weren't abseiling cables, they looked like pulley cables and they were just flapping in the breeze. I would have just thought it was maintenance but it was strange seeing the catchcar sitting on an angle half way up the tower. I just wish my phone wasn't flat so I could have taken photos. I saw a couple of people taking photos but I was hoping they might make their way here.
  13. Does anyone know what was going on with the Giant Drop yesterday? The catchcar looked like it was on a strange angle and there were cables dangling from the tower. The other side of the tower was still operating along with the TOT, didn't seem very safe but i'm sure Dreamworld know what they are doing...
  14. If I have the spare $10 I'll get on backwards but I'm fine with going forwards because it's still just as fantastic. I'm waiting for the point where they lower the price to Arhkam levels and it's $5 per backwards ride.
  15. When it comes to the GCB, it's always a slow news day...
  16. How did you find that video? It's unlisted.
  17. With roaming staff to assist, that should cause less problems if one of the wristbands stops working.
  18. I fixed your Tailspin link. The link you included is to edit the video which can only be accessed by you.
  19. I feel sorry for the poor guy. Shows up to work one Tuesday morning. Left work by Tuesday lunchtime with a drill through his crotch
  20. I swear I remember hearing somewhere that there were delays because of the swanky updated themeing.
  21. Is that a wall mounted ride? That would be perfect with the huge amount of space left by emptying out the existing seating.
