  1. I haven't had a chance to check out Green Lantern since the 23rd (the first and only day I've ridden it - I rode it 4 times), but from what I've heard it hasn't had a lot of luck (from what I've heard on the forums and at work). There's been quite a few mentions of it being shut on certain days (like most of today).
  2. I'm short-ish, and I was able to hear the audio fine. Maybe it has been turned down since I rode, but then that just goes to show that it can be turned up.
  3. I have the same problem the further back I go on the train. I think it's the sudden change in force - I think it goes from 4.2g to -1g in that section. The only reason I could think going further back in the train would alter that is simply the speed that it passes different track sections at. For example, going down after the top hat, the front moves slowly, whereas the back moves quicker as the front is 'pulling' it down.
  4. That's weird. I'll have a look what the go is now when I get to work tomorrow. Were the rash shirts a light colour? Because I only glimpsed over at Aqualoop while I was handing out surveys to guests.
  5. I couldn't see Big Brother 'fitting' Movie World anyway. Movie World is more of the 'higher class' (couldn't think of another phrase) movies and TV series, not some controversial reality show. Apart from the attention it'd draw to Movie World, I don't think they would want that name associated with them after some of the controversy that came up in the previous series. I'm not saying it's a bad thing for Dreamworld -- Just saying that it suits Dreamworld better.
  6. Yesterday I saw people going into the Aqualoop capsules without rash shirts? So I don't know where you got this from? Did you see people riding it with a rash shirt?
  7. Tough call. I loved a lot of the rides there, but my tops would be California Screamin', Grizzly River Run, Hollywood Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones and Space Mountain. Also a note worthy ride is Toy Story Mania. I had so much fun on that ride and I could see myself riding it over and over again. As for worst, for me it's the Pinocchio Ride (I forgot the exact name). I hated that one so much. Quick Question, Jacko (or) maybe you prefer just Jack. Why do you put or in brackets? It's annoying the hell out of me.
  8. The parks have been extremely busy (with the exception of yesterday at Wet'n'Wild due to the rain). Wet'n'Wild has been hovering just below 10, 000 guests on a given day for the past few days with the expectation of over 11, 000 today. If the council was smart, they'd head down to Wet'n'Wild and Movie World and book all the illegal parking.
  9. February is probably the busiest non-school holiday period of the year. Just go during weekdays and you should be fine.
  10. I thought it was on a probational period and depending on the response to Nickelodeon at Sea World, it would either keep going or be scrapped.
  11. It doesn't NEED to go. It simply needs some lovin'. Dreamworld proved that some lovin' can revitalize and old ride & be of enormous benefit to the company - TOT to TOTII. Even though it was a basic idea put into motion, everyone loved it and it renewed the old icon of Dreamworld. When I went to Dreamworld before the original TOT closed, the lines were always very short. Since the upgrade, the lines are massive, and people love the ride. Obviously some of the longer queues would come from the new cheaper passes, but still, it goes to show that no ride needs to be removed, just needs to be fixed.
  12. There was a guy working on it (seemed to be trying to get it focus correctly) and he finished his work. The camera was flashing, but the screens in the DC store were turned off.
  13. ... Do you mean the leaders of this site don't like people who share their views? But I think you're being very hypocritical, Wyncenuros. If you post an opinion, and people disagree, they're not allowed to post their own opinion? So instead of it being a discussion (with people discussing and finding flaws in other opinions and suggesting their own opinions), it's simply a statement by yourself -- or as you think of it, a fact (when it isn't always). ------ Oh wells, back on topic. I don't see what the problem with a park focusing on things other than coasters is? Amazing experiences can come from dark rides and flat rides also. Some dark rides can even be thrilling, and flat rides can have amazing stories also (take Hollywood Tower of Terror for example).
  14. Green Lantern was open all day today. Rode it 4 times - I love this ride! The front right seat is the best IMO because those corners make you feel so vulnerable.
  15. Ok, so I got to take a look at the queue line, but once I sat down and got the harness down, it had 'technical difficulties'. The queue actually has much better theming than I would have expected.
  16. Yes. Maybe that's how it usually is, but I still think it's weird to let people ride that much earlier before it's officially open. Like, why not just make that the opening?
  17. I find it bizarre how early it is compared to the actual 'official' opening.
  18. So they're trying to open it today but the 'official' opening day is boxing day - how bizarre.
  19. I didn't see anyone on it today?? Maybe I missed it. All I saw was heaps of testing with no one on it.
  20. By 'our booth' I meant the one I was working in with others.
  21. Not a lot. We were struggling to keep our booth for admissions open throughout the whole day - it was so quiet. The lines for admissions rarely ever got larger than 2 or 3 families (even at like 10am). Edit: And the turnstiles didn't have long lines either. It was weird for the holiday period.
  22. I think a lot of people on this forum have actually traveled overseas and visited superior theme parks. I'm one of those people, but I still think Superman Escape is one of the best rides I've ever ridden (because it has everything. Amazing acceleration, good theming and a good story-line). Superman Escape came in at #17 around the world. Just a note on that though. This is what it would have ranked if it had enough opinions put in. Because, obviously, it's in Australia and didn't have many riders in the poll, they put it in a separate list and said 'here's what it WOULD have been if we put it in'. http://www.ushsho.com/detailedsteelrollercoasterpollresults2010.htm
  23. So the ride isn't opening tomorrow (that's good, I guess?) - so perhaps there's still time for theming? They could be going with a Boxing Day opening for all we know (gives a reason to the '12 days of Green Lantern' thing they've been doing on their Facebook).
  24. May open this Thursday? Everyone knows that already.
  25. My thoughts on White Christmas. The rides, great. No lines (due to most of the crowd having small children) and rides which could were running 2 trains (Superman Escape & Road Runner). All rides were a less than 5 minute wait, EXCEPT Scooby (which was a 20 minute wait). The light were amazing - I wanted to take them home and set them up at my house! There were a couple of let downs though. The first, not so major, was the ice skating. I didn't end up doing it, but it was waxed ground you can skate on with blunt skates for 15 minutes for $10. But, it was fun to watch both kids and adults fall over. The second let down was the parade (sort of). It was good at some parts, but it wasn't the big finale to the night I was expecting. Whilst I didn't mind the girls in short skirts, seriously, it's a family night, there should have been elves and what-not instead. The parade was small, and it was hard to see if you don't have a pram and can't ram the crowd and you are short. Overall, I'd give the night probably an 8/10 due to the fact that there were amazing lights (which freaked me out when they all came on at once) and night-rides on Superman with no line. If you're on the edge of going or not, you should go.
