  1. Given the orientation of the park and location of the hotel, there is unlikely to be any shadowing over the park whatsoever in operating hours
  2. Looked to me like a lot of the chains wrapped in and the crushed structure
  3. Little sad to see the old Sword Swing in a pile of rubbish in the graveyard (easy to view from the GC queue) I know it was getting on in years but given the simplicity of the ride design it would have been nice for a small regional park to pick it up
  4. Imagine a holidaying adult who just bought a day pass. 5 rides open in the entire park for you. So you paying in excess of $20 per ride. Worse than the EKKA
  5. I believe it’s one of the ancillary services at the studios - could be production offices, costuming, editing etc
  6. It’s working now as there isn’t an entire world of entertainment at the other end of it. When there is in 18 months time, the way it was previously was far better than scooby alley, and far more prominent and easy to find.
  7. Where were those things being stored prior to being dumped in the lane way for the near 2 decades it was a public accessible area? It’s not like the park has had an exponential increase in the number of food carts, mops and buckets, and bread dollies. It’s likely one day someone dumped something there out of a minuscule amount of convenience, and it started a chain reaction. what has been done can be undone
  8. As a kid and early teen I was petrified of the ideas of going upside-down on a ride so it held me back from riding Demon & Bounty’s at Wonderland. Eventually one I muscled the courage to do Demon, realised my fear was silly and I‘d been missing out on a great experience and since then I’ve never felt “scared” about going on any ride. of course there is an amount of nervous energy you feel before going on a new big ride like maybe your first hyper or launch etc, but it’s not a scared feeling for me. If I felt actual fear now, I don’t think I’d ride something as that isn’t a natural emotional response for me to any rides, so it would have to be coming from a place of concern about safety (maybe if I was travelling and in another country where I’d have concerns about maintenance or compliance etc) As for DCR backwards, definitely had nervous excitement the first time but I lent into that and loved it. I’ve done it 3 or 4 times now. I couldn’t do it multiple times back to back as the disorientation throws my head out a big (a little like spinning rides do - something things come on with age with me) but it’s a bunch of fun.
  9. You didn’t really miss anything (imo). Had a lot of cultural info about indigenous living, interactive displays (basic swipe screens etc). At one point they were doing some form of “show” in there, but I never caught it
  10. I have a key. Mainly due to FOMO in case it turned out great. I’m yet to use it for anything including the in park discounts as it is never front of mind.
  11. The only thing that’s false is that statement.
  12. Why would I be saying that? congrats on it being available when you went. That wasn’t the experience when I or many others have attended in holiday periods
  13. VQ may be an advertised inclusion but I can state categorically that at least 80% of school holidays visits it is unavailable. They may put it down to some form of tech error/glitch, but when it happens more often than not and is in correspondence with peak periods, it’s strategy. They get away with it due to this small t&c in the VQ FAQs: Please note: Any operational hours and service availabilities are subject to change without notice.

  15. That “strategy” is straight up queue jumping and why queues jump up from estimated wait time. I’d understand if it’s a parent taking their kid to the bathroom or go grab a drink in a long line, but to purposefully skip the queue is akin to those morons who go and stand in a vacant car space waiting for their friend to arrive with the car
  16. How in the world is this thing going to take another 9 months to launch?
  17. By all accounts it was only operating at 50% rotation for that time, so should probably only be considered as 4 days….
  18. Why? So it can be closed for 10 months a year?
  19. Half a Q1 or 54 Shaq’s stacked on top of each other…. Maybe the printer is an American bloke or they have their spell check set to English (US)? American English is story, and stories. Not correct here where we use British English, but given how American spelling & phrasing is continually seeping into mainstream language here, it’s not surprising
  20. At least they didn’t put it in front of ST. and no unsupervised kids can fall off it at the markets anymore…. credit: DW Golden Years
