  2. COMPLETE THE COLLECTION The Leviathan Quest has begun! A limited number of Leviathan eggs have been unearthed. Within these eggs lie the extraordinary beings known as Leviathans. Each egg cradles one of five distinct types of characters, with various rarities increasing with the specific oceanic depths in which they were discovered. Each Leviathan possesses their own captivating specificities, encompassing their Belly, Body, Eyes, Horns, and Tail. These distinguishing features make every Leviathan truly unique. Every Key Holder will get the chance to hatch their very own Leviathan. Your egg is sitting in your Village Key right now! What will you unlock? To complete your collection and win the legendary Fathom, you need to finish in the top 100 of the Leviathan Quest leaderboard! HATCHING PROCESS As a Leviathan Keeper, you are tasked with nurturing your egg to hatch it and unlock the hidden character within. There are two ways to hatch your egg and reveal your Leviathan! 1. Guardians Watch: To keep your egg safe, Keepers are required to share their unique code with a friend who will pledge their support and become a Village Key Holder too. This code can be found in your profile or on the Village Key Homepage by tapping the '+ Friend' button. 2. Birthplace Journey: By venturing to Sea World and riding the mighty Leviathan rollercoaster, the egg will hatch after three rides and reveal the hidden Leviathan within. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Who'd have guessed that they would couple in some way to try to make more money by you referring a friend haha Surprised you dont get bonuses for joining their TikTok channel

  4. Still think we’re a long way from ground being broken. you may have a bed there by 2028, maybe.
  5. Who said it was a teaser for a specific maze? Just looks like it’s a TVC/Ad for fright nights itself.
  6. Councillors at a planning committee meeting on Thursday were unanimous in supporting an officer recommendation to approve a $333m hotel development at Movie World. Plans by Village Roadshow Theme Parks show a 22-storey, 600-room hotel featuring a “panoramic sky deck”, infinity pool, bar and restaurants on its 21st level at Oxenford. Gold Coast City Council received 22 objections with residents concerned about building height and scale, the impact on traffic and localised flooding. The mega development on the theme park’s existing carpark, fronting Entertainment Road at Oxenford, will include stand-alone entertainment and function facilities. Councillor Peter Young voiced concerns about the removal of long-standing trees which provided amenity to the front of the car park. He also asked for officers to address the acoustic impact from having the hotel at a precinct surrounded by residential properties. About 20 functions a year are planned and their approval supported by officers. But area councillor William Owen-Jones successfully argued for only 12 a year. He said the Oxenford community “after 20 years in training” acknowledged the theme park performed an important economic function employing staffers and they expected activity on the site. But he admitted there was a “wrestle” about how many functions could be staged. Deputy Mayor Donna Gates said the project was a “good indicator of the city’s growth”. “I think it will be a fantastic addition to the northern Gold Coast and one everyone will admire,” she said. Committee chair Mark Hammel said the hotel would add to much needed convention space for the city and give a $100 million uplift to the economy during the construction stage. He said 500 jobs would be provided at the hotel in what was a $100 million boost to salaries in the longer term. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/gold-coast/councillors-support-approval-for-333m-sixstar-ritz-carlton-movie-world-hotel/news-story/4794ab1d8614687968d7eebc5b27d10d
  7. Given the orientation of the park and location of the hotel, there is unlikely to be any shadowing over the park whatsoever in operating hours
  8. Looked to me like a lot of the chains wrapped in and the crushed structure
  9. Little sad to see the old Sword Swing in a pile of rubbish in the graveyard (easy to view from the GC queue) I know it was getting on in years but given the simplicity of the ride design it would have been nice for a small regional park to pick it up
  10. Imagine a holidaying adult who just bought a day pass. 5 rides open in the entire park for you. So you paying in excess of $20 per ride. Worse than the EKKA
  11. I believe it’s one of the ancillary services at the studios - could be production offices, costuming, editing etc
  12. It’s working now as there isn’t an entire world of entertainment at the other end of it. When there is in 18 months time, the way it was previously was far better than scooby alley, and far more prominent and easy to find.
  13. Where were those things being stored prior to being dumped in the lane way for the near 2 decades it was a public accessible area? It’s not like the park has had an exponential increase in the number of food carts, mops and buckets, and bread dollies. It’s likely one day someone dumped something there out of a minuscule amount of convenience, and it started a chain reaction. what has been done can be undone
  14. As a kid and early teen I was petrified of the ideas of going upside-down on a ride so it held me back from riding Demon & Bounty’s at Wonderland. Eventually one I muscled the courage to do Demon, realised my fear was silly and I‘d been missing out on a great experience and since then I’ve never felt “scared” about going on any ride. of course there is an amount of nervous energy you feel before going on a new big ride like maybe your first hyper or launch etc, but it’s not a scared feeling for me. If I felt actual fear now, I don’t think I’d ride something as that isn’t a natural emotional response for me to any rides, so it would have to be coming from a place of concern about safety (maybe if I was travelling and in another country where I’d have concerns about maintenance or compliance etc) As for DCR backwards, definitely had nervous excitement the first time but I lent into that and loved it. I’ve done it 3 or 4 times now. I couldn’t do it multiple times back to back as the disorientation throws my head out a big (a little like spinning rides do - something things come on with age with me) but it’s a bunch of fun.
  15. You didn’t really miss anything (imo). Had a lot of cultural info about indigenous living, interactive displays (basic swipe screens etc). At one point they were doing some form of “show” in there, but I never caught it
  16. I have a key. Mainly due to FOMO in case it turned out great. I’m yet to use it for anything including the in park discounts as it is never front of mind.
  17. The only thing that’s false is that statement.
  18. Why would I be saying that? congrats on it being available when you went. That wasn’t the experience when I or many others have attended in holiday periods
  19. VQ may be an advertised inclusion but I can state categorically that at least 80% of school holidays visits it is unavailable. They may put it down to some form of tech error/glitch, but when it happens more often than not and is in correspondence with peak periods, it’s strategy. They get away with it due to this small t&c in the VQ FAQs: Please note: Any operational hours and service availabilities are subject to change without notice.
  20. Hoarding update. photos courtesy of GC Theme Parks fb page
  21. That “strategy” is straight up queue jumping and why queues jump up from estimated wait time. I’d understand if it’s a parent taking their kid to the bathroom or go grab a drink in a long line, but to purposefully skip the queue is akin to those morons who go and stand in a vacant car space waiting for their friend to arrive with the car
  22. How in the world is this thing going to take another 9 months to launch?
