I wouldn't be making those allegations publicly, but I want to keep my house.

Only need to follow local journos and radio hosts on socials to see them out and about at SW Resort, TG etc - often with or tagging and thanking high ranking VTP employees.

I'm sure they'll call it friendship, but its friendship that comes with perks and understanding.

It's not illegal, its smart business if you want favourable media - but that doesn't mean DW deserve to be drilled regularly for not following suit.

I think DW being reminded how badly they failed, keeps the pressure on DW from going back there.  Makes me feel safer going to DW.  If it’s forgotten and never talked about, DW have less reasons to keep me safe.

The people who failed are no longer there. The people running the joint now are the most scrutinized or any theme park in the country, and don't deserve to be continually tarnished by the same brush their predecessors rightfully were.

VTP largely gets free reign by the GC media because they wine and dine anyone and everyone from local paper, radio stations etc constantly.

It's funny how just a couple of days out of from peak easter holidays, we get a rush on "Don't forget DW killed people" articles.

In a couple of weeks we'll no doubt get a front page headline about how great The Flash Ride is too

I can see where you're coming from Brad, but Mr Dorsett's mother, Mr Hanson and Mr Haber have all willingly spoken to the media about this. The former has taken this as an opportunity to honour her son's legacy. I don't think we should be speaking on behalf of the bystanders, the victims or their families. There is an interesting dichotomy in these situations where a preventable tragedy occurs; we want those affected to be able to move on with their lives, but importantly we still need to acknowledge the failings and hold the appropriate parties to account. As for the media's role, yeah sure, we all know they profit off clicks, but at the very least these recognitions of bravery were newsworthy and the article is not the typical clickbait shitpost the media usually loves to capitalise on.

Yeah, and maybe i chose the wrong article of the 3 to be critical of. In isolation, its a worthy article, but on the back of 2 others by the same media organisation in the preceding 24-48 hours - thats planned.

Tassie Devil was a similar model at Wonderland too, and it was always popular.

Was probably my favourite flat at Wonderland - in a close way finish with Wizards Fury

It would be fine as an attraction to fill a gap in their offerings - but i wouldnt be taking up valuable showstage realestate with it - it's would be just fine outside.

I'd hardly call Doomsday a major attraction.

when you only have 2-3 rides operating in your park suitable for anyone over the age of 5 - they are all major.

Doomsday now has no reopening date. Could this finally be the end of the rides life?

    We can only hope..

And then tear down the whole area, and re-purpose the sound stage. I understand Batman Legacy will be heading off at some point this year, and with it the end of the  WB Showcase concept.

With lightning-inspired aesthetics, the theming works will continue until late March, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure into the Speed Force, coming soon to #movieworldaus

Doomsday’s maintenance schedule now has no reopening date and just says “From 5 Feb 2024.”

this is what they did to Arkham before silently closing it, maybe they finally decided to pull the plug on Doomsday.

The entire area is in disarray, when it could be one of the best themed lands/worlds in our parks.

Theme giant Village Roadshow tells Taylor Swift if you loved us in 2015, you’ll be stoked on 2024

A Gold Coast’s theme park giant is joining Queensland’s push to attract Taylor Swift for her downtime week by reminding her of the great time she had on the rides nearly 10 years ago.

Swift, who has a week off from shows after tonight’s fourth and final Sydney concert before her tour continues in Singapore, had a ball at MovieWorld in 2015.

She did multiple rides with actor friend Blake Lively as well as enjoying getting up close and personal with marsupials at Paradise Country.

Village Roadshow CEO Clark Kirby said plenty had changed at the parks to give Swift new thrills in the nearly 10 years since she last visited: “We would love to extend an invite for Taylor and Blake to visit our parks and create some more amazing memories with their family and friends.

“Our theme parks are the ideal place for some downtime following an intense performing schedule where they can enjoy our world-class rides, attractions, shows and characters,” he said.

“Since their last visit in 2015, we have a host of amazing new attractions at Warner Bros. Movie World including the DC Rivals HyperCoaster - the tallest, longest and fastest HyperCoaster in the Southern Hemisphere - which would provide the perfect adrenaline hit.

“Over at Paradise Country, we have also welcomed some inquisitive new animals including meerkats and marmosets and they would love to meet Taylor and share some of their conservation efforts.”

Mr Kirby’s Village Roadshow invite comes as Queensland clamours to attract Swift and NFL star partner Travis Kelce. Tourism and Events Queensland on the weekend unveiled an audacious bid to convince Swift to have her downtime in the Sunshine State by signalling it would rename stunning Vlasoff Cay on the Great Barrier Reef – unofficially at least – as Tay Cay in a tribute to the music icon. TEQ has offered to put together a ‘Tay Cay’ package with helicopter transfers, a champagne picnic and opportunity to snorkel amongst the stunning coral and marine life. The invite also includes a luxury stay on a nearly exclusive private resort island, with a public ad campaign showcasing what’s on offer in the tourism hotspot until Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Mr Kirby said like the rest of Australia his household – including three daughters – had been caught up in the Taylor Swift juggernaut, taking in one of her Melbourne shows.

“Hopefully on her next tour she will be here on the Gold Coast performing checking out the new Wizard of Oz precinct at Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Movie World was “Hollywood on the Gold Coast”, he said.

“So it makes perfect sense we resonate with superstars. Given our close location to Village Roadshow Studios, we are ideally positioned to welcome some of the biggest stars. But the beauty of Movie World is that every guest who walks through the gates is transported to an environment where they can experience the life of an A-Lister.”
