  1. Must be a lay day down here today. Nothing really going on at all. No cranes in use, no one working in the Coaster site at all. No movement in the holding yard either. Heres an obligatory photo taken so it was worth my while to come down here haha
  2. That's some Sherlock Holmes level code cracking there @Skeeta!
  3. Hopefully one is the standard maintenance cycle, whilst the other is the re-themeing works
  4. A back injury on HWSW? I'd say there was something underlying prior to the ride if that is truly the case.. how'd u manage the stairs and ramps to get off the ride?
  5. Don't think anyone would disagree with what you are saying Dreamworld 'needs' but the problem is the massive investment required to do all that currently wouldn't/can't be justified by Ardent
  6. I don't find Seinfeld entertaining or funny... anyway, let's move on back to the topic at hand. Come on MW, give us something..
  7. As was mine... maybe you need a cuddle from mummy and some Ritalin No we don't. But 2 major rides in the same park themed to Asylum's seems a little... crazy...
  8. Call me pessimistic all you like, but unless there is a change of ownership, I don't think we'll be seeing any large scale new attraction at DW in the next 3 years. We might get more cosmetic upgrades and entertainment offerings, maybe another flat, but I'm not expecting more than that
  9. MW already had a purpose built sound studio in which to encase the ride... DW has no such benefit. As I stated, DW is already the best park on the coast for people who prefer flats. DW wants to become like Disney? When did they throw out that lofty goal??
  10. You keep saying "not everyone likes coasters" @pushbutton. We absolutely (really really!) understand that's your point of view, and it's not an entirely unique view. However, DW is the one park on that coast that caters best for the "I don't like Coasters" mentality. It's variety of flats is great. DW doesn't need more flats right now, that won't bring crowds back. DW lacks a quality statement Coaster, not necessary a hyper, but a big full circuit offering. It also lacks a quality dark ride, but that's more unlikely than a coaster which can fit fairly natural terrain more easily than having to erect a building to house the ride. The Simpsons Ride is Great, but the cost of it here in Australia would exceed what MW is spending on its hyper. Ardent won't be spending that much on an attraction anytime soon, or ever probably
  11. Wowsers, that's a hell of a stretch @AlexB haha. Comical though. That'd be like the true reason the vintage cars is closed is because the cars ran on tyres, and you sat in a tyre on TRR therefore tyres are evil
  12. Facade door I believe, you can see an outlet in next door in the photo. As for the tv... meh. Why? I'd rather they put the $$$ that went into that into a full page advert in the GCB advertising their nameless Coaster
  13. Hopefully a case of a website update being due soon with correct dates rather than something more sinister. Whilst I hope my reservations are unfounded, I'm hoping we are not seeing the early stages of Ardent saying "too expensive to fix until our financial situation improves (or the Park is sold). That type of backwards thinking could cripple the park
  14. Castaway Bay still exists with the Battle Boats and Sky Fortress ropes area.
  15. I know a lot of people weren't fans, but I would probably have to say The Film Vault. The atmosphere created with the smoke and strobes was great, the lack of physical barriers really projected the screams from other groups, and you couldn't see them due to the smoke. Also enjoyed TWD for its strong scenes and references to the show
  16. Since seeing the colour scheme I've been of the opinion it will be a broad theme, as opposed to an individual character. 'Battle for Gotham' 'Metropolis Madness' that type of idea... I don't particularly think the themes of death or suicide are themes I'd associate with a theme park ride (aside from off events like Fright Nights). I don't think those themes are easy to market or advertise to families or tourists. I'd like to think that idea wasn't a serious consideration long before what happened at Dreamworld
  17. Joker had no presence other than a voice over at the loading platform on AA, hardly great use of arguably the greatest comic book villain in existence. In saying that, I'm not certain it's joke themed anyway
  18. Let me just make sure I'm getting this right @Nateihendo you believe Movieworld has chosen the colour for the greatest ride this nation has ever seen, based on the colour of the lens in the goggles worn by a character in a video game... did I get that right? Nevermind the fact that the lenses are actually a dull red, and not magenta at all..
