Topgolf Gold Coast Construction

My bad. That different angle on the photo through me off entirely. Guess it will be used for future productions, given Aquaman won't be utilising the tank- 499 replies

What are reasonable prices for theme parks?
Brad2912 replied to pushbutton's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I personally don't classify photos as merch. Merch is things you buy from the stores. Photos are an extension or add on to a ride imo. Id also say with a decent amount of confidence that photographics would be a different line to merch on VTP's P&L. yes, a burger is food, but it's one option in the park amongst many others. I'd generalise to say you don't get a discount on food as well given it's only available on one option. DW gives pass holders discount to food, everywhere. -

Makes sense to go through most of winter with zero thrill rides that don't leave you soaking wet... -

Not to be argumentative, but from looking at your table of benefits, there is no discounts on merch, or F&B with the exception of one burger meal. Isnt that what TPG said? -
Calm down @joz. Suicide Squad wasn't THAT bad... i mean it's not gonna win any oscars, but it's an decent mindless popcorn flick with far too many characters and ideas packed into it. (It did win an oscar, but we'll overlook that haha). Dont see it being Harley themed though. Her Classic comic costume is black/white/red. Her suicide squad costume is red/blue/white. There's no magenta in her character at all.

I'm talking about pass holders, a lot of which are locals. I'd say most locals would be aware that something big is happening at Movieworld, even if they won't know much beyond that

The fact the merch team have decided to allocate non-relative colours to superheroes in order to sell capes with logos isn't the point of my comment. They are not going to design a magenta colour Coaster and say "well it's a supergirl Coaster of course, we sell capes in that colour!" I still stand by it being a superman cape in pink to be attractive to young girls. Supergirl wears zero pink, and every other cape (even those of superheroes that don't wear capes) is relative to the colour of their costume. Anyways, it has nothing to do with the coaster, let's agree on that!

Yeah credit where it's due, I've had some great staff interactions in recent times at DW, and on two occasions have been impressed to the point of messaging them on FB to commend the staff member, and I haven't done that ever after a visit to a VTP park. I guess my comment about having something extra to offer at DW was more In relation to those people who don't have both sets of annual passes at the same time. I have had both for the past 5 or so years, but know financially come July I won't have the upfront costs for 3 new DW passes. I wouldn't have back in December either so I am benefiting and thankful for my extra 6 months of access! I'm certainly not lost to DW, I love the park, and it's my most visited park given it offers the most for my son, but with the hyper coming, and the novelty value of the Cubs which my son will like, it's a no brainer for me on whether I continue with my VTP membership or renew with DW. I believe a lot of people who are making or will soon be making the decision on which pass the purchase for their family, will be making a similar decision, and I see that as an opportunity for DW to try and work on
-
All I know if they need something, and Stage 2 of TI isn't nearly enough. Dont forget a heap (maybe 50% of more) of their pass holders are currently running on 'free' time due to the 6 month extension we received. In 8 weeks time, all those passes will expire and without some sort of strategy for the future, a lot (myself included) won't be renewing straight away...
-
So I guess now it's over to DW... they are still in 'recovery mode' and will be for a while longer. their two major competitions will have large attraction pullers coming in September in terms of both thrills and animal offerings. Will DW sit on their hands? Or will they announce something of their own? It's too late for a ride instalment unless it's been already contracted and stayed on the down low. So what will they do to arrest some visitor numbers from VTP?? "Don't worry about the country's best Coaster and the polar bears Cubs, come to DW, we have jelly beans and breakfast from 9am" won't cut it....

Great news for SW today with the birth of 2 polar bear Cubs. Will no doubt be a big draw card in a couple of months when they go on show to the public

New Dreamworld Patisserie & Grill "coming soon"
Brad2912 replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Probably miscalculated how many maps they'd go through before the changeover, ran out of the old ones so had no choice but to roll out the new ones. -
That's not a Supergirl cape (she wears a red cape) it's just a hot pink (not magenta) cape with a superman logo on it.. and if it's a hint, it is only pure coincidence, the marketing department have shown themselves to have no ability to create hype or build up. We'll get all the info we need in one big press dump whenever they get around to it

Dreamworld Log Ride reopening 2017
Brad2912 replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Stupid timing if true if you're going to relaunch it, do it as we are coming into the warmer months. September school holidays maybe (so there is some attraction for people to come to the park when MW opens the hyper and everyone heads there). It may not get 'cold' cold on the GC in winter, but it still gets to the "I don't wanna be walking around dripping wet in this cool brisk breeze" cold. -

Brad2912 replied to pushbutton's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Not many people would buy an annual pass when Day passes are $25/$35. 10+ visits to get your money's worth? A lot of people may not commit to 10 visits a year, so will take their chance with day passes, even locals. I remember when the VTP annual pass was $250, and I was happy to pay that, but I wouldn't have if day passes were only $35. -

Ardent Leisure eyes Dreamworld sale

As Pin said, the majority of JB's have sold white goods, vacuums, kitchen appliances for years now. There is zero point of difference between them and the good guys -

Can't see any reason why the ACCC would have much of an issue. They had no issue with JB Hifi acquiring The Good Guys and owning 80%+ of the electronics market -
