  1. Doesn’t even warrant mentioning, or even occurring. Completely redundant and stupid imo.. needs to open later, not earlier
  2. I swear I remember reading the same post about SV this time last year haha hopefully it will open before August...
  3. They clued onto that months ago, doesn’t work, neither does outline.com anymore
  4. Can’t read it, but seems to refer to an issue with SW rides....
  5. 2 extra dates added - Tues 17th and Mon 23rd
  6. For the record I was there yesterday and their is still some groundwork to do. The lockers and toilet area still looked like it needed a few finishing touches as well. I’d say they’d be aiming for Boxing Day
  7. Appears that what is replacing Parkway may be this new Lego store birthday party concept. I know private Lego parties are quite the rage at the moment, so having an official one based at the store/park will likely prove very popular. I expect we’ll see 2-3 designated rooms appear for this,
  8. Jumped on for a ride this morning for the first time in about 6 weeks. So noticeable changes to queue videos. The first screen when you first walk in, in front of the standard/ride express playing a video of a cast member, I didn’t really catch it as the line didn’t extend that far. In the main queue room, the old video is gone. 90% of the time the screen just shows a stock video of clouds with the SV logo and “your attendant will be with your shortly”. Every now and then this is interrupted by an Experience Oz advertisement showing a few scenes of activities, as well as an advertisement for the new annual passes. The safety video in the pre-load soon has also changed, first we get the original queue line video intro with the aboriginal story and welcome (approx 1min) followed by a direct to camera safety instruction by a cast member/pseudo pilot who explains the loading procedures, loose items policy and safety instructions. They is accompanied with vision of people doing up their belts etc. A new feature mentions if an unwell/uncomfortable guest makes a cross with their arms above their head the ride will stop. It’s a bit meh tbh with some lame jokes... As for the ride itself, I noticed immediately that a new “scent” has been added, anytime you are over the ocean you get hit with a big whiff of what I would best describe as lemon dishwashing liquid. It’s subtle and ok at first, but becomes quite strong by about the third ocean scene. I don’t know if it’s replaced the old grapes/wine scent that came about in the winery scene, as this used to be the only noticeable scent on previous rides, and it wasn’t there today. Well that or it was completely masked by the bottle of Morning Fresh that it smelt like I’d bathed in. Still getting applause at the end of the ride says it’s connecting well with first time riders, which is great.
  9. Was thinking the exact same thing when I looked at the photos. 37 degrees today I wouldn’t wanna be sitting anywhere not undercover
  10. Been discussed quite throughly in this thread
  11. Have to agree in 10+ rides I’ve never seen a single person stop to look in the shop on exit, or anyone else browsing
  12. The big billboard out the front says 13 months, and doesn’t say online only purchase.
  13. Nope. It’s 13 months everywhere, has been for near on 12 months now.
  14. I don’t think it’s public holiday thing though, it’s a Sunday thing. The gazetted public holiday is Monday the 27th so people working Sunday the 26th don’t even get public holiday rates - just standard Sunday rates. I don’t believe they ran Sunday’s last year either, maybe the decision was it was successful enough without operating Sunday’s and they wanted to stick to the Thu/Fri/Sat pattern
  15. Well it’s not running on any Sundays so it was unlikely the one Sunday they would open it would be a public holiday..
  16. You’re a negative nancy of late old mate... New show for the holidays and seems like some new animals
  17. Just drove past but noticed too late to take a photo but the northbound facing billboard at DW is advertising a “Splash Pass” which I assume is a seasonal pass? Or a yearly WWW pass. Think I saw $99 on the sign but could be wrong.
  18. Definitely have a choice of single or double tubes
  19. Must have been more then a few years, I don’t recall ever having seen that aquarium and I’ve been a fairly regular visitor to SW the last 5 years
