  1. Why play music when the riders can just use their #pureimagination
  2. Not much to report really.. couple more supports up, and some digging going on around the footings on the south east concern of the site
  3. This topic has been discussed previously (maybe in the travelling fairs thread) from memory there was a divide in people's opinions, some of the belief that carnival rides are more susceptible to safety issues due to the constant pulling apart and rebuilding, whilst others believing that practice is what makes them safe as they are re-checked more often. I guess I'm in the former group, I just don't have the level of comfort on a carnival ride as I do on a permanently installed theme park ride. I do have a second take before I go on any of the 'bigger' or more intense Carnivale rides as they feel to be less safe. I guess I have the benefit of choice living near the theme parks on the GC so I can choose to skip the carnivals rides at the Ekka or a travelling fair and just head to the parks, a double win as I save money and remove the perceived risk in my mind. If I still lived in Sydney though, I'd probably be more receptive to travelling rides as they'd be my only options for regular rides
  4. But we're you not still in the station??
  5. Sounds like he was never stuck, as he never left the station haha
  6. The coaster doesn't open for 5 months, that's plenty of time to organise something if both parties wanted/agreed to but I find that unlikely. on another note, I guess we'll have to go back to guessing the theme when they down tools at 5pm and we have no more movement for 4 days.
  7. Did a quick drive by on the way to work incase they got an early start, hoping to see the first piece in place. Unfortunately not, but the site is a buzz of activity with more supports currently being installed (low supports, small crane) didnt stop in the carpark to take a photo as we have plenty of low support photos already! Goodluck to everyone else heading down to get the first piece money shot today!
  8. Wow, this is going crazy pedantic.. its not about being able to shift blame, it's about accountability and diligence organisations have safe work practices and policies designed to keep staff and customers safe. In most organisations, after training, staff are signed off as being understanding and compliant to these policies. If an accident were to occur, whilst the organisation will be ultimately liable due to the accident occurring on their property, the staff member if found to be in breach of trained and acknowledged skills and practices, could be liable for fines from a regulating body, and disciplinary action/dismissal from the employer.
  9. Wow! That's a quick recovery! I Wish them well!
  10. A couple of Weeks or days... is that the timeframe they gave you?? No wonder we haven't had an announcement...
  11. Scary video footage at.. http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/girls-brush-with-death-after-carnival-ride-malfunctioned/news-story/401896ac06203a1e0e6ec2fd248054a1
  12. That makes no sense at all, given there has been no restriction to operating times in any previous season... and why would water and heating (??) procedures differ on weekends?? By that logic I guess the reason the Big Red Boat closes on weekdays at 3 is due to the high tide...
  13. That's not extreme whiplash. Extreme whiplash is a car rear-ending you at 60km/h when your sitting stationary
  14. Little snippet in the SMH today about DW/Ardent can read the whole article at: http://www.smh.com.au/business/property/ardent-leisures-dreamworld-theme-park-hit-by-cyclone-debbie-20170410-gvhk0t.html
  15. The only people who say they love extreme whiplash are people who have never experienced extreme whiplash...
  16. Always leave all my stuff in the boxes at Arnhem, with One train operation if something goes missing there's only one 2 people who could have it and that's the ride attendants.
  17. Well they did just announce that Josh Wedon will write and direct a Batgirl movie. But that was literally announced last week and came out of left field, so it won't be Batgirl. I still think the Joker is a strong chance, let's see if we get a green train... if not Joker it only leaves Bizarro Which is a bizarre choice for him, or potentially a generalised theme, such as "Battle for Gotham" that isn't themed to an individual property
  18. Why does being a launched Coaster preclude you falling into the hyper/giga categories?
  19. BB amphitheatre doesn't have a seating gradient anywhere as steep as that
  20. Forgot to Take a photo of it but all the framework/rebar etc is in place, looked ready for the cement to be poured (may have held off on doing it due to the sporadic rain today)
  21. Would be a good 20 or so pieces of track in the carpark now, and a similar number of supports. Crane's lifting more pieces out and more Top Golf bits & pieces also being taken out of enclosed containers and placed on the far perimeter near the metal sheeting and access tunnels. Here's the latest piece to be taken out... now I'm off to work haha
  22. So the track pieces are transported by flatbed open trucks to the painter down the road... (that's the a cue for one of the kids on holidays to Google search for paint factories near Mack's manufacturing base, and bring up nearmap images for the past few months). I'm sure Richard will shout you a parkz cap if you can find a high-res photo of a magenta track on the back of a truck in Waldkirch
