  1. I might need to come in as a guest soon to experience the "roughness" of rivals. Pretty intrigued to say the least. The Batman train getting all worked up, it's time for it to rest for a little bit. However, that roughness shouldn't be a problem soon should the Joker train indeed be within the Rivals maintenance bay.
  2. Just came across a Consentino ad from Dreamworld, which features the "One day holiday" remake. Must I say, it sounds good. 😌 From Dreamworld's ad library for Facebook, the Consentino is one of many to feature the song remake I believe.
  3. Must admit, Dreamworld do have some pretty good ads for their rides. Loved the TOTII ad...
  4. I've heard the second launch audio for like... the last year.
  5. Such a shame the backwards seat are out of action these holidays. At least we get to spend our $20 on a spinning seat instead 😉 But in all honesty, the second train REALLY needs work done. Peak period is coming and we're pretty much in for 3 hour waits like Easter should the second train remain out of action. I believe the second train has been sitting dismantled beside Superman's launch track since... A P R I L 💀
  6. Are both backwards seats still out of action on Rivals? Regardless, I'd say a $20 spinning seat is much more worth it compared to a $20 backwards seat.
  7. Interesting to see the final braking system use tyres and not the conventional magnets (well for me it is anyway)...
  8. Unrelated to Taipan (except for the Tailwhip seats), it's good to see other parks already opting in for the HybridTrain upgrade: "ICON with a twist The UK’s first and only double-launch rollercoaster ICON is getting twisted this/next Summer with ENSŌ. In a first for Europe, ICON’s rear seats have been adapted so that riders can spin and twist freely during the ride’s existing thrilling duration. ICON’s exhilarating high-speed accelerations, electrifying twists and turns and heart-stopping interactions will all be turned up to a whole new level by ENSŌ. ICON launches riders with the same acceleration as a Formula One car, rising and swooping through numerous interactions with other rides before hitting a second launch which powers riders high above Blackpool Pleasure Beach. ENSŌ magnifies these thrills and creates a whole new experience for those who dare to get twisted. ENSŌ is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism meaning circle, or sometimes, circle of togetherness. It is traditionally drawn using only one brushstroke as a meditative practice in letting go of the mind and allowing the body to create, as the singular brushstroke allows for no modifications. Like the symbol, it is named after, once you climb aboard the ride, clear your mind and allow your body to experience the intense, thrilling experiences of ENSŌ. Dare to get twisted!" https://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com/icon/
  9. I know a 16 year old getting paid somewhere around $18 an hour as a ride attendant (didn't know 16yo were allowed to work as ride attendants but here we are). VRTP on the other hand paying me $13.93 as an SBT 💀
  10. Keeping the new year celebrations going I guess. Would be nice to see fireworks come off the Dreamworld tower on New Years tho. The Giant Drop can act as the Gold Coast's ball drop.
  11. From Dreamworld's 40th birthday page, 18 December has quite the significance... A week in from the school holidays Opening of borders to fully vaxxed Opening of Steel Taipan (which plausibly explains the reason behind an early opening) perhaps?
  12. At last! Thank goodness. Will be interesting to see (and hear) these boats in operation. Looking forward to whenever WWF reopens.
  13. Hope to see another ssssick Taipan ad from Dreamworld (like what they did for the reveal of the train) in the coming days then...
  14. Hmm... To kick summer off with a bang, why not December 11? Dreamworld will be busy the entirety of their summer holiday period as a result... Unless they want to opt with the typical Boxing day opening...
  15. Mike from Dreamworld's been repeating that same "opening soon" all over Dreamworld socials... It also appears Dreamworld have publicly advertised employment opportunities with the business on their home page...
  16. The page announcing Consentino's show looks pretty good I must say. https://www.dreamworld.com.au/what-s-on/cosentino-live-at-dreamworld/
  17. Should Dreamworld consider installing a water ride within the Log Ride footprint: A Mack PowerSplash would be nice to see (as someone said before), but unless Dreamworld don't feel like paying a premium for another Mack installation, Intamin have released their updated and upgraded Surf coaster family. I'm thinking the Ultra Surf would fit nicely (knock-off PowerSplash) too. Both models can hold a total of 20 passengers, however the Ultra Surf has the same spinning seats you'd see on the surf coaster at WnW. It appears the seats are free spinning also. https://www.intamin.com/product/ultra-surf/
  18. Interested to know what ride that sign belonged to. "The tide has changed and we're making new waves"
  19. The new trains for Road Runner look pretty good I must say. The harness can be a bit uncomfortable for those who are tall or have long/large legs, but it's fine. The lift hill soundtrack needs a bit of work, but it's alright for what it's worth. The sound of the train rolling around is pretty smooth, but it can be a bit rattly once onboard. The final brake run has indeed been updated to use magnetics, helping the train slow down gradually and keep rolling into the station without a forceful stop and start. TL;DR I much prefer the new trains over the old ones.
  20. Allegedly Road Runner has reopened. The website says it's down but a ride operator told me via Insta that it's open.
