  1. From my past experience I have no doubt this would be the case. I know that back in Greg's leadership days at Village he would personally meet with team members from all departments who would receive positive guest feedback to thank them and also take the time to get to know a little bit about the individual. I'm sure this kind of approach would have trickled down to the current day leadership at DW.
  2. I believe this is closing after the up and coming school holidays...
  3. Tom and Jerry 4D Experience. The introduction of the characters in park proved to be a success. They are classic and the humor resonates with a very broad demographic. Because of this same reason Looney Tunes 4D was very popular with guests also.
  4. I can tell you it wasn't a knee jerk reaction. The relocation had been in planning since August 2022. It had two proposed locations at MW, with Superman being the most viable. One of the pro's was certainly that it added an attraction to the ride line up in the absence of Scooby. However unfortunately Scooby's fate came around much quicker than both Village and Mack anticipated. I'm not sure if its been mentioned previously but Scooby had been in planning with Mack since 2021, with the hope that it could continue to be supported by the OEM until Wizard of Oz opened. The rest however is history.
  5. Makes me wonder how pleased Village is with these pieces of concept art being posted....
  6. Well the above is the worst comparison ever. Two completely different devices, not even comparable... One that's relatively new and knowing SBF rides, the attraction will likely have a milestone service requirement being new that may require greater stripe-back and NDT assessment to ensure there are no early signs of structural fatigue. Superman Escape also has varied shutdown periods, not like for like depending on the whats required. For example generally every 2 years it requires a rope replacement. Based on age its also likely soon due for a control system upgrade. Also probably likely that some time might also be needed inside the rides footprint to complete works on The Flash Force Speed. Simply, your sweeping statement is an incorrect assumption and I know that as fact.
  7. Gosh it would be a real unpopular opinion to actually believe that they have genuine planned annual R&M to complete on these complex pieces of machinery that are outlined by the OEM, whilst at the same time continuing to maintain the operation of the other attractions, completing daily, weekly and monthly periodic inspections so the business can continue to operate for 7 days a week.
  8. This artwork is from the establishment of the master plan. It wont be inclusive of changes that would have occurred along the way.
  9. Pretty certain the entrance to the area is intended to commence from Superman Escape. Connection via the former China Town entrance was ruled out of the scope early in the piece. The recent TVC shoot in park with the Yellow Brick road leading under Superman also hints at the above.
  10. Money is one thing however, the board will be hard pressed to approve significant future capital spend without an upward trend in both revenue and attendance. The recent AGM was a good example of the pressures the board is facing from shareholders around visitation numbers. I really hope for DW's momentum, which I believe is on the right path, that pass holders and visitors really validate the new offerings with clicks at the gate.
  11. Village projects aren’t cursed, they just need to learn to stop prematurely putting a date on things… DW’s approach over the past few projects is the perfect example of managing the opening of a new attraction. Benefits with both the consumer expectation and assists with the operational transition.
  12. I’d be surprised if they’re considering new capital spend on a 4th attraction so soon. There is already a lot either on the go or in commencement between WOZ, Scooby and Flash. Also all projects that have likely increased from their original capital expenditure position. Not to mention VRTP is long overdue for an AOS refresh (when you consider the typical life of past shows) and WB showcase would be reaching the end of its term?
  13. New North Pole Float, London Float, Paris Float, Rome Float, Australia Float and New York Float. These were not just an opportunity to freshen up the offering as ‘Joy to the World’ but a long term strategy, operationally and logistically.
  14. I believe you’ll find that some of the floats that are being put out on display are slowly being decommissioned as prop pieces. This is part of an ongoing improved safety approach for the parade. Floats like the Polar Express are the old school, wide berth floats with limited turning availability in comparison to the new slim based floats that have steering capabilities within the float unit. The top of Main Street and the Stars/Department store corner have always proven to be challenging for the larger, older floats. Certainly has nothing to do with staffing, if anything those that have been retired have been replaced with new units.
  15. The family boomerang racer also exists at Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen. You could overlay it similarly, with an idea of the positioning based on the concept artwork.
  16. This topic was one of the items for approval during Ardent's AGM yesterday. Resolution 4 – Approve the Change of Company Name Background In accordance with section 157(1) of the Corporations Act, a Company wishing to change its name requires the approval by special resolution of its shareholders to adopt the new name. It is proposed that shareholders approve the change of the Company name from “Ardent Leisure Group Limited” to “Coast Entertainment Holdings Limited” and amend the Constitution accordingly to reflect the name change in accordance with section 136(2) of the Corporations Act. Shareholders will recall that, following the disposal of the Group’s health club business in 2016, the Company sought shareholders’ approval to change the Company name to Main Event Entertainment Group Limited to better reflect its focus on that US based business at the time. Shareholders voted unanimously in favour of the name change at the 2016 AGM however, due to circumstances existing at that time and following, the Company chose not to implement the name change. Since late 2016 the Group has disposed of its Australian bowling and entertainment business, undertaken a destapling and corporate restructure and last year disposed of the US Main Event Entertainment business. With the Group’s focus now firmly on its Australian Theme Parks and Attractions businesses, the Board and management believe that it is timely to now implement a name change at the holding company level. If approved by shareholders, the change of name will take effect when the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) amends the Company’s registration with the new name. The Company has reserved the new name with ASIC. The Company has also requested that the ASX ticker code be changed from “ALG” to “CEH” after the change of name is effective. This new ticker code “CEH” has been reserved by the Company. Recommendation The Directors unanimously recommend that Shareholders vote in favour of Resolution 4 to approve the change of Company name and amend the Constitution to reflect the name change.
  17. Very interesting that you will have a steel coaster that is originally Intamin as the OEM and designer of the attraction, and now you have a completely new OEM with Zamperla coming in to make enhancements and modifications to an attraction that's not their design. Ultimately Zamperla would have to be accepting the attraction in its entirety to be their design moving forward from an ownership of design risk perspective.
  18. Pretty certain the space will occupy a new building with some sort of a retail opportunity.
  19. Wiz Kid is simply the internal project name, used well before the project was formally announced.
  20. I have also heard that Luna Park Melbourne has a new CEO, an ex Village Roadshow Theme Parks senior manager. Could this mean some growth in that park similar to what has happened in Sydney?
  21. I believe there has been talks of returning to 6 car operation now that the evacuation will be safer and faster for the operations team to navigate, while the attraction only currently operates with a maximum of 4 cars.
  22. Superman Escape building blast effect has been reinstated!
  23. Certainly is great to see some new comm's around the closure piece. I would like to add however, WWF Mountain is defiantly overdue for a good clean and repaint. Seems like Rivals is about to get some repaint TLC. There has been a boom operator on a couple of occasions this week, what looks like preparing the track section closest to Topgolf it seems. Hopefully WWF is on the radar also!
