  1. Well at the moment the rapids are completely empty with a sign saying annual maintenance which means you'll be waiting up to 45 minutes for the log ride but I hope they don't empty it, I don't see how it'll be a problem since it uses the lake thingy they have there..
  2. I thought they were gonna do something once the movie comes out because there was some simpsons posters being sold in the WB store when I was there in November and they had a preview for the simpson movie on the big screen before the hi 5 stuff started and the WB store on the gc has a crap load of simpson merchandise but the wb store at Crown has been selling simpsons merchandise for well over two years so that's nothing to go by really.
  3. When we got off and they handed us the little paper with the photo number on it she was like "did you guys enjoy wetting each other?" and laughed so I'm sure if they had a real big problem with us getting soaked on a fairly safe ride in the 32 degree heat they would have said something because we came off dripping with water from head to toe No didn't do the GD although they did have both sides working and the line up wasn't long during the whole day we were down that end.
  4. We got to Dreamworld just after 10, it had started to lightly spit when we were near the Pimpama exit but it stopped just as quickly as it started. The Claw was first because my friend hadn't been to the park since 2003 and so this was the new ride. We noticed that they didn't do a full load and run around only to be told we'd have to wait for the next cycle. My friend spent the whole ride holding on and screaming. After we got off she was wanting to ride it again. The que for the claw was never packed, all the times we walked past it they were only in the first barrier. We rode the claw four times in total and would have rode it more had we not felt sick. We headed straight over to the cyclone next which surprisingly was very quiet for the whole day we went to ride it. We waited about 10 minutes to be loaded in. It's getting pretty rough now to the point that even if you do hold onto your harness and keep your head back your head still bangs the ears to the point of painful. When we came back the lady was like "well guys be proud of yourselves, that was the quickest trip we've had all day" even though it was only like 11ish lol. Tower of Terror was next, this was a 5 minute wait and the line up was at the top of the last set of stairs. Ride was good except it kinda slowed down half way down the track on the way back but the rest of the ride was good. We then decided to have lunch and went to Billabong..after walking through Wiggles World and singing the songs, having the parents just smile weirdly at us lol. After lunch we headed towards the log ride, we had tried to do the log ride before lunch but it was packed and we just decided to stand in line this time. It took roughly 30 minutes to get on. We ended up having a water fight as we were going around so by the time we were at the top of the final drop we were all soaked but ended up getting even more soaked when we came down. They also let the flumes back up into each other; Headed back to the claw..all nice and soaked. The whole day this ride was a walk on so it was never fully full at all. We decided to do the claw a second time and got on the one right after the one we got off. We got on the Wipeout straight after the claw. It makes this loud clunk noise when it spins around that can be heard from near central cafe. Normally I hate this ride since I come so far off the seat and feel like I am going to fall out of the harness but it was pretty tame compared to the last time I rode it. I was even up for going again but my friend felt sick so we sat down for 5 minutes. After we watched the flow rider go for a bit we headed towards the cyclone again. Didn't have to wait too long to get on, just one cycle. We were listening to this group argue about which end was the best to sit in for the ride when one of them just turned around to us and asked which end we like sitting at, the front or back..we voted for the back. We then headed towards the tot but stopped at Tiger Island and then couldn't be bothered waiting 20 minutes for the show because we were all tired/sore/sunburnt so we headed to the lockers and then out...after paying $10.50 for 3 cokes (of course ). The Clown was there too playing My Girl on his little radio thingy what ever it is..tried getting this little asian girl to dance with him but she started crying because she apparantly hates clowns. Over all though the park was good, the only major line up was the log ride but we expected that with the river rapids being out of use. WhiteWater World looked packed too, heaps of people on TOH when we were going down the stairs. They must have a special event planned/or a booking for tonight/tomorrow night because outside central cafe they have tents and all the tables have been set up like a restaurant. They have completely removed the Model T Cars, there's just dirt and tree stumps there now.
  5. Oh yeah I see your point, Maynia in MAY..wow..original..what would you have called it?? it's original as Screamworld...cause you know Dreamworld is a so many worlds of fun park and you scream on most of the rides..
  6. The Q1 doesn't look out of place, it's an eye sore from when you first drive into the Coast the same way the Sydney Harbor Bridge is in Sydney and it'll be more in place once Soul goes up.
  7. That wheel was also at the Melbourne Show (the one in the pic), the gondola's are much too cramped for a show wheel though..we had a good time trying to get all of our show bags in with us.
  8. But the thing with Toasted & the Shack (when it was at SW) was that both parks are owned by the same company so in theory they would have gotten twice the money and if MW get that WB Kids show then WVTP won't lose any money so there is no major problem with that.
  9. That Chinese place you are talking about is great! we went there, fried rice and lemon chicken <3 when we were there had deals like two meals (same plate...fried rice and lemon chicken) and a drink for $9.50. They have a big screen tv there as well so you can watch the tube as you eat.
  10. Not everyone who goes to the GC visits all five parks as well. I haven't been to SW since 2004, I only went to wnw in November because my friend hadn't been there in 5 years. I only really go to dw, mw and now www. wnw and sw don't interest me.
  11. I think that's a case of think before you post. I did have a WVTP voucher from Coke but I can't seem to find it, sorry
  12. I got a lot of air on my 2nd Bro ride and I'm not very light lol, banged right into the wall when the map hit the slide again. Yeah there's sections in the net that they lift up and when it gets stuck the water on the hills actually sorta stop so there's not much water on the slide.
  13. Awww I liked making my brother use a pink mat and having the lifeguard laugh when we called him a girl. I think the other mats were fine..they were a bit too big once you were at the start but I don't know maybe wnw's are like that too so it's standard?
  14. I don't think I was on the mat properly..it was my first time in that style of ride so I probably was riding it wrong lol but it killed me every time some water dripped from my shorts.
  15. When we went back on the hydro the lady was still working it and she was like "oh you are the girls who got stuck.." and my friend goes "yeah and it would have been nice if we were allowed to go straight to the front of the cue without waiting a further 20 minutes in line" There was a lot of people with water proof cams on the slides, this guy had one on the green room and he had is strapped around his neck..it flew up in his face when we went up the wall..came out laughing his head off though so I guess it either didn't hit him or it didn't hurt.
  16. My two friends had that happen..the first time they went on it the lifeguard ran from the other side of the pool over to them so he could stop them but they ended up out of the pool altogether. The second time the lifeguard flipped them both out of the tube when he grabbed it..was quite amusing because they did not know the pool was deep.
  17. I bumped my head on the pole in the TOH pool..wasn't very pleasant..the lifeguard spent about 5 minutes asking me if I was ok and if I needed someone to check it out. Needless to say, those poles are quite hard.
  18. Sounds like you had a fun day Churros. I found the bro to be awesome even though I cut my knee on it. Great air! The Nick area is awesome, we spent a lot of time going on the slides there, there's a life guard there who wears a coat for when the bucket tips haha.
  19. Are stones considered gravel? the only stones I saw surround the hydro coaster.. I didn't have the problem of sore feet when we got stuck, was wearing aqua shoes hehe...had to worry about being helped out of it though because I'm only 4'11.
  20. Yeah it was breaking down a lot when I was there, on our second ride we got stuck on the third lift hill..everyone in the line up just stares and points at you while you sit there and wait for the lifeguards to show up. They should have a rule there though, if yo get stuck you get to go to the front of the line because we ended up having to wait another 20 minutes on top of the time we originally waited.
  21. But isn't the spit a fair bit from the actual eye? it's not that big from the road when you drive past on the way to brisbane so surely it can't be that big from the spit?
  22. Well sitting on a slide and actually walking a distance are quite two different thing's and I do believe I said I could get shortness of breath when I walk, I did not mention anything about sitting on a slide/ride because thats all you do on them, you don't walk, you dont run, you may scream (an enjoyable one, not a scared one) but like I said walking may give me shortness of breath. Don't assume I'm healthy just because I ride the rides, is a doctor a doctor just because s/he says they are? no. When www expands then I will re think my reasoning but right now smaller is better. I honestly dont care about what slides are cool and are in this season; I ride a slide for a good ride (and I will ride it for the first time if its brand new here but my re rides are solely based on if I like it) not because its the new it thing. Another reason why I would do www over wnw now is I have a max pass, it's already paid for itself so why pay the $30 or whatever it is to enter wnw when I can get into www for free and actually enjoy being in there. I'm not going to pay for a park I don't like. That's just stupid. My reasons might not be logical to you lot but that is why they are my reasons and not yours. Had you actually been there Gazza then I would see reasoning for you liking wnw more but you haven't even tried the park out. How can you honestly say something is better then the other when you haven't even had that something?? be like saying Pepsi tastes better then Coke when you've never tried Pepsi and we all know Pepsi and Coke have different tastes so they aren't the same. Any way the advice you gave for Lanaa was actually quite good for someone who has never visited www.
  23. Me either, the only one I've heard is after 5pm on saturdays which is just one day of the week..big deal.
  24. Well I don't like www because it has the cool rides, I like www because it's smaller. You have no idea what my physique and medical conditions are, I could be very very fit but have a heart condition that makes me lose breath after walking so far. Don't assume thing's you have no idea about and then slam me for liking the other park just because YOU prefer wnw. Why do you care so much what park other people like? if you like wnw then go and visit wnw and stay away from www. We are entitled to our opinions, likes and dislikes and I hate wnw. I find it funny that in every www vs wnw post you say how you dont know how people can choose www over wnw and yet when WE say we prefer www over wnw you jump down our throats. Hmmm. It was also nice of you to compare a ride at wnw that www doesn't even have obviously you can ride in calypso for hours and get sunburned but if I wanted to do that I would just go into the wavepool at www. Why can't you just grasp at the fact that there are people on this forum that hate/dislike wnw because its size and que times? lets attack the people for having a different opinion to yours, shall we?? Perhaps wnw should pay you a bit more salary
  25. I don't know..when I was there not only was there a line up at the dw/www entry but there was a whole heap of people having coffees and drinks at bite me (which have great cappuccinos if you haven't had one there). I just dont see the logic in saying this park is failing because they are offering discounts? DW do it every year with the mates rates, the coupons at McDonald's..why is this so different from that?
