My god that video of JL is terrible. That ride needs to retired. Bring back the Batman simulator or perhaps something like Spideman 4D from Universal Studio's themed to DC? Wishful thinking

I believe it's been mostly fixed now since the major refurb. But I just wonder why some of those issues like faulty animatronics and blown speakers couldn't have been fixed by MW's in-house maintenance team. The ride should surely be able to be kept at a certain standard, and not just have it deteriorate until the original manufacturers have to be brought in again many years later

  2. Definitely feel like there's way too much flat comic book panel theming happening in that part of the park, way, way too much. Especially when it's supposed to be a movie park. But I can understand a very limited budget for theming for the Flash as I'm assuming they have planned for a limited life expectancy, considering the ride's age and previous issues. Wouldn't want to over capitalise

  3. You certainly can't fault Greg's vision. A well themed family coaster is something we pretty much all agreed would be ideal for DW. And making it a semi dark ride is the icing on the cake. So glad he is placing such a big emphasis on theming and practical effects

  4. When you look at Dreamworld currently, it really feels like a mid tier park at best. More regional than mainstream. Reminds me of some of the smaller parks in the UK. Whereas previously it was considered a major theme park with blockbuster attractions. It was a park that pretty much everyone visited when they went to the Coast. I think some of the suggestions above would help it get back to this status, or at least closer. I can see attendance getting back up to previous levels in this case, and so far there has been some very decent investment, but I just wonder if the current owners will have the financial capacity and/or willingness to take it there?

Though a Screamin’ Swing would be cool, we’ve seen how Vortex went for them (though that is partially due to it’s faults, even when operating it rarely has a queue), so it’d suit the park more if they opted for a milder, family ride (and, if VRTP were to get a Screamin’ Swing, have it replace Doomsday). That, and the circular pad, makes me hope it’s something of that demographic. The first ride that comes to mind is a NebulaZ.

A Screamin' Swing would be perfect for where Vortex currently is though, swinging over the water on both sides

Wicked (the books and musical) whilst quite amazing in its own right, is only very loosely linked to the Wizard of Oz movie, being through the witches. No Dorothy, scarecrow, Kansas, toto etc.

there really won’t be much at all to tie in. It’s almost an alternate series of events to what most people know of Oz (being the reference point of the Garland movie).

While the focus in Wicked is on the witches, pretty much all of those things you mention above are actually in the musical. Example, Fiero becomes the Scarecrow, so you definitely can't say he's not in it!

Be interesting to see what theming they have in store and who is designing/implementing it.

There’s only a handful of people with the specialised skills to do it properly and haven’t heard a peep of this project from any of them.

Apparently the contract has gone to the same guy who did Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Next Generation.

    Kidding.

An S&S Screamin' Swing would have been a better fit for that spot than Vortex.

Doomsday should be replaced, I'm not sure Vortex is the right fit for that area. Maybe a Zamperla NebulaZ would work well? In any case the Villains precinct is overdue for some love, all those broken effects are pretty sad.

I was going to say this!! I've always thought a Screamin' Swing would be perfect for this spot. A really fun popular ride, and it would swing out over the water on both sides. Not many places in the world where this style of  ride is more perfectly suited for. Plus you could give the columns some nice Atlantean theming

It also doesn't help that it's a pain to operate, and the ropes that are used are so fiddly that it greatly increases the load / unload time of the ride haha. Was prob my least favourite kids ride to operate in the park. Tweety and Pounce and Bounce were the 2 best IMO

Pretty sure they got rid of the ropes a while back, much to the delight of all the WB Kids' attendants
