  1. Water test dummies have been sighted sitting in the station area.
  2. Looks a lot like the Larson and Fabbri towers as both seem to have a similar looking sphere on the top. Either one would be amazing.
  3. On the website under Plan My Day -> Ride Restrictions.
  4. It looks like only half the adult range is available at the 110cm mark with the aqua loop, T5, Tantrum, The Curler, Riptide and Double Bowlseye all at 120cm.
  5. I believe that's No fear and it was absolutely terrible.
  6. Wet'n'Wild's is not vertical, but at least tries to be a real loop. This one is really just a downwards spiral. Although it looks like you gain a lot of speed from the steepness of the first drop, so it could be lots of fun.
  7. Past rides like Surfrider and Wild West Falls have both been listed as a 'Miscellaneous Commercial Structure'. But it could very well still be something uninteresting like the modified Wet'n'Wild bridge which was also listed as a commercial structure.
  8. I completely agree. After visiting Wet'n'Wild on a very busy day it didn't take long to realise that I need to completely disregard everything the boards tell me.
  9. If thats true and everything else goes ahead, then this year might very well be the best year in Australian theme park history.
  10. Tommorow morning Sunrise will be filming live from Movie World and they will be checking out the rides much like they checked out Sea World this morning. Its from 6am to 9am for anyone whos interested.
  11. I doubt there's any way they could retheme a 27 year old ride and claim it as a new one, my bet would be that its a flat ride replacement for the pirate ship.
  12. They could fill in the side section of the WWF mountain and use that for the mountain portion of the rapids, which would save money and finally hide the ugly unthemed side of WWF. Edit: Also I don't think they'd have a problem building a water ride so close to another, look at the flume ride and bermuda which are virtually on top of each other.
  13. ^ I think there's a chance the 2009 attraction could be a river rapids due to the fact that a dam has been proposed to be built near wwf. If the 09 attraction is rumored to be placed behind the show stage, this would place the dam next to the new attraction, meaning the proposed dam could used to store or drain the water in the upper sections of the flumes when the pumps are shut down. Any thoughts on what else the dam is to be built for?
  14. Up on the Theme Park Review website is some mysterious photos of B&M track outside a factory. I know its a very long shot, but maybe this is Dreamworld or Movieworld's new rollercoaster.
  15. Was at seaworld today and I saw some maintenance guys working on the corkscrew in the morning and by midday it was up and running again.
  16. I heard 21 million US, which is unfortunately out of our price range, however, a scaled down version would still be massive and an awesome addition to any our parks.
  17. Thanks for the advice, we'll still be driving up on boxing day so fortunately we'll miss that one. As for new years unfortunately we'll probably be hungover ourselves so I doubt we'll be going then. Scooby doo for most of us, is our favourite ride. Last time I was there though the queue was only just into the main queue hall, yet I waited for almost 30 mins . How packed do you think the main queue hall will be this time? And if its full, how long should we except to wait? I don't know if we're gonna be speding a lot of days at the parks so I want to get as many rides in as possible. Im thinking of just running to scooby as soon as it opens and getting as many in as we can then leaving it for the rest of the day (and same with Cyclone).
  18. Hey guys, Im planning a Gold Coast theme park holiday from boxing day to the 4th of January as this was the only time my friends could get off. Its been about five years since i've been and im very excited. However i've only ever visited during off peak, when there were still very long lines for rides like cyclone and scooby doo. But from what ive heard, im going during the busiest time of the year and I was wondering what to expect in terms of queue times of some of the lower capacity rides. Am I going to have to wait half the day to get on the single train cyclone?
  19. The whole Six Falgs New Orleans park hasn't been operating for a few years because of the flood damage from hurricane Katrina. Batman was one of the only rides without severe damage, but unfortunately for us, it's being handed over to Fiesta Texas as Goliath.
  20. I didn't explain it very well, but what I was trying to say was that they could have designed the station so that there were two station sized parallel tracks beside each other with one connected to the cirucuit and one not connected. The connected track would allow one train to complete the circuit a few times while the other track unloads and loads the next passengers off to the side. Then when the first train finishes it returns to the station and both of the parallel tracks move to the side connecting the other track to the circuit and unconnecting the first track from the circuit. Then the passengers who just competed the ride would unload off to the side while the other train runs and the cycle continues. This way they could run two trains.
  21. 30 or so seconds doesn't sound like enough time to load and unload the other train. Therefore I think they should have desgined it to run two or more laps with a speed up at each pass of the launch area to keep it at a good speed. They could have still run two trains by designing a dual loading station with moving track that allows one train to be loaded and unloaded while the other completes the circuits. This would have solved the short ride time problem and would have also made it more realistic since when was the last time you saw a motorbike race that was one lap long. Plus it wouldn't have been much more expensive.
  22. I've heard that Luna Park Sydney sometimes brings in a temporary ride or two for the School Holidays. My question is does anyone know if that is going to happen for the school holidays starting next week and if so, what ride/s could we expect?
  23. I think maybe whatever's causing that squeaking noise could be the reason it appears to lose so much speed by the end. It must be creating excess friction that slows the train down faster than they intended because i'm sure Intamin wouldn't have planed to make it go that slow over the final section.
