  1. Well, its not bad, but its nothing special. Anyway, there is a whole thread already on wether people feel the need for the theming to be improved, or wether it is fine as it is, so the answer to your question lies there
  2. Maybe this could include additons to the theming ? Hey, I can dream. But just a question for those in the know/frequent visitors, has there been many technical difficulties and breakdowns when you are trying to ride?
  3. Ummm, somebody already posted the SE RCT3 video here.......3 hours ago , there's even a thread about it http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/in...?showtopic=3118 There is also already a thread about the SE camera phone onride video http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/in...?showtopic=2997
  4. It was Ok, it seemed to have a lot of repeated footage/photos, and really you can make anything seem funny if you put it to the Benny Hill theme. But on the topic of funny videos, I came across this one by chance, what you are interested in is the sound of the video, in particular at the cobra roll.
  5. Yeah, i think you just misinterpereted what you are supposed to do, if something has gone cold by itself (for example by carelessly being allowed to sit out too long) then it should never be reheated as bacteria would have multipiled in that period. However, it is OK to cook something, then keep the cooked product refrigerated, and then reheat that. At Maccas for example the chicken tandoori uses pre cooked (As in at the cooked at the Chickadee factory) roast chicken pieces that we keep in the fridge. They are marinated, but only heated again when we are actually making deli rolls (Each container can be kept in the Holding Cabinet for 30mins). I can see where people are coming from about the wraps, its better when they have the chicken and tortilla hot but the salad ingredients cold (Hmm like a KFC twister, come to think of it thats probably why people were expecting it to be hot...so its like a twister)

    The Wii

Just a couple of minutes ago I noticed the disc drive was glowing, and to my suprise i found my first email from Nintendo. Aparently the News Channel is up and running. Its updating and installing now, so Ill edit in what its like in a little while. Edit: OK, I've just had a little play around with it and it seems pretty good. The interface is similar to the weather channel, with basic controls (that dissapear after a little while) at the top and bottom and all the main stuff in the middle. It gives you local, national and international news. Unfortunatley there was no local stuff, but in terms of national news they had some stuff up about climate change and that $10 Bil water plan (And some articles do have photos you can zoom in on). The international news was much more impressive, with a ton of articles. You can also look by a few other categories (such as technology and sports) the sports one is pretty cool as it has all the up to date scores. There were a couple of other cool things too, they have re-used the globe from the weather channel, but instead there are these nifty 3D stacks of paper sitting all over the surface of the planet, and the height of these represents the amount of stories. When you are zoomed right out there are only a few stacks in major news centers (Tokyo, Sydney, Vienna, New York etc) But when you zoom in the stacks start sorting themselves into smaller piles into local cities. A pretty cool interface. Also, there is this thing called slideshow, where it flashes the headlines in order for a few seconds each, and when you see one that catches your eye you just click in, and when you are done the slideshow keeps going. As for the stories, they seem pretty unbiased and non sensationalist which is good. They are Its done by Associated press so maybe someone who knows more about media can give an opinion of them. When I first heard about this channel, i thought it would just be sanitised stuff with a heavy emphasis on Nintendo related news, instead a found a review of a Microsoft product (Vista) 2nd Edit: Nintendo is funding this channel, and look who they are giving publicity to! That cool globe interface.
  7. What about at Subway? all of their chicken products are pre cooked (chicken fillet for example) and are put in the microwave to warm them up before serving. Same with the chicken tandoori and Thai chicken at McDonalds. But still, it suprises me how parks rarely seem to be able to get food service right. Some do it well, but for the most part they are overpriced, and what makes it worse is the lower quality. Although some dont like the idea, I say they should just do what Tussauds does and have franchised outlets, at least that way you know what you are getting and know what it will cost.
  8. You are better off looking on the Meshio website as it has the full stats for their double loop coaster. I have also attached an aerial photo (Though it is of a clone of the ride at a Japanese park) and a plan of the ride. Hope that helps. http://www.sanoyas-leisure.com/ meshio1.bmp meshio2.bmp

    Ride Op Simulator

And, if you own No Limits you can be a ride op for your coasters on there too.
  10. Well, its sort of a necessary evil for ops to be a bit pushy, but as long as they are polite then there is no problem. I mean it annoys me when people complain about a long line for a ride, yet at the same time complain about ops telling them what to do. On every ride the bottleneck that causes lines is the loading process, so it is in their best interests to try and get people organized and on board quickly and using as many of the available seats as possible (Thats why on Superman they always call for single riders) . What are they supposed to do, just let people (who are in a theme park remeber, so the brain isnt switched on) into the station and wait around for them to work it out themselves. All he said was that he didnt get to ride rita so SE was his first launching coaster, and to him launching to 100kmhˉ¹ was the scariest thing ever. Normally I just walk out the doorway, or walk towards the sign that says "exit" But i found WBMW staff friendly, if you asked them something they would answer you nicley and they fulfilled special requests (Eg giving change from food in a way that i would have the right coins for a locker)
  11. But last year they spent less (only Dorothys Rosy Teacups Ride and Nightmares and Flowrider) These would be a fair bit less than $6 mil. The way the capital expenditure allotment is set up means if they dont spend it, it just gets put aside for the future. So they actually would have plenty for a coaster.
  12. I love the gravel theming around the Rip.
  13. Woah, great trip report. If you feel like it go longer even, its great to see trip reports that go into detail rather than just say something like "Went to WW, it was kewl, BRO rokked!!!!1111". Im still a bit confused about the temple of huey set up, is Broken Headz a 2 person slide, but are Cut Snake and Screamin' Right Handers both single person slides?
  14. You know, that idea isnt half bad, i might actually rejig that a bit (use a different ride system obviously since its going to MW)
  15. Ah yes, I remember seeing that thing going when I was in Sydney in 2003. Would have been cool to take a trip on it but we didn't have time.us
  16. Good Idea, i might get on to that one. Dunno why you think it looks like Lethal Weapon though, my design has none of the inversion types that Lethal Weapon has Edit: I just realized this thread was for MW related rides...disregard
  17. Hey, this thread is active again... Anyway, heres a theme for a ride, I posted it over on Ozcoaster, but since this came up, and for the benefit of those who dont read the boards there I'll post it here. Its basically an inverted coaster that twists and turns through alleyways and trenches in a Morrocan city, narrowly avoiding walls and washing lines. The story would be that you have wandered into the catacombs under the city, where you awaken a spirit, it becomes enraged and takes you into its grasp, and then hurls around the city in a destructive rampage. The first pic shows the layout in red and the queue route in blue (since the buildings/trenches/tunnels obscure parts of the track) The second pic is a nice clear version.
  18. To simulate boarding a log flume? Ill second that though, a half pipe at WnW would be grossly over capitalising and really not fitting in with what is on offer. Why cant it just go to SW? They could do with another ride as has been discussed before. But just reflecting on djrappas post, a water park that isnt next to DW doesnt necessarily have to be WnW...think about the 'other' waterpark. If it were there it would be in a dry park anyway.
  19. Can anyone post some pics of the outside of the attraction? Have they done anything cool, or is it just a big tent like Prison Break at LPM?
  20. If you want to avoid furthering this image you might want to change this line in your profile But hey, look on the bright side, you got your name on AAL, normally you have to own a website to do that.
  21. I would have thought that if the concrete is hot you would try to take long steps, not short ones, so you can cover the distance faster and minimise the time your feet are in contact with the ground.
  22. Oh man, i feel sorry for you. At least its going to be open when I go. Look on the bright side though, you can ride Batwing heaps in the morning, and then visit WWW in the arvo, so your trip will still be worth it.
  23. This topic has made it on to AAL ( http://australianamusementlowdown.blogspot.com/ for those of you too lazy to type that big URL )
  24. Out of the coasters I have ridden, SE then SDSC were my favourites. Out of the ones I havent ridden, the two B&M terrain inverts, Nemesis and Black Mamba are my favourites.
  25. Because the German park isn't affilated with Warner Bros. any more so they wouldn't be using the movie licences anymore.
