  1. Just to get the thread started Here is an explanation video of how the dolphins are kept- Here is a protest from sea world- Why are people protesting if the dolphins live freely. Also, I'd like to note how vr theme parks are making videos explaining simple things so the general public trust them. E.g. Ride procedures and animal handling videos.
  2. They've installed a screen in the Plaza now. Like it did for MW, i think it's ruined the look of the facades. I don't know why they didn't take the opportunity to design the space around this screen, so they didn't have to fix it onto the poles. (Photo TPSN)
  3. The demolishing of the water slides has finally started. The question to be answered is why have they fenced off the car park????????? Thank your TPSN for the photos.
  4. Hi there! I haven't visited the gold coast since 2010, and I'm thinking about returning for a trip later this year in December. Could somebody please offer a quick summary of the current state of the parks there? I'm specifically interested in Dreamworld/White Water World, Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World and Wet n Wild. Those are the parks I'm most familiar with, but I'm sure there's way more worth visiting on/around the coast. So if you could offer what your experiences have been like recently, it would be very much appreciated. What's the best? What's the worst? Looking into other f
  5. From The Brisbane Times: Here is the Facebook Live stream they made of the protest (protest begins at around the 03:20 mark):
  6. I just found a website where you can view high-quality historical satellite imagery of the Gold Coast. It is amazing seeing the theme parks in such detail in the past. Just an idea to 'past the time' until MW's hypercoaster track/support pieces appear, if anyone wants to see something specific of a Gold Coast theme park, just post below and I'll upload one (or the most popular request) each day until then. I'll provide the link to the full website (and thus, the source of the imagery) when the pieces arrive if there was something you wanted to see that had not yet been posted. To sta
  7. How can the theme parks in Australia stop people having no confidence in them? This is what what was said after the GD safety stop. “We spent the day at dream world today and obviously started off with the iconic 'giant drop.' After spending 5-10minutes stuck up the top and my missus getting quiet nervous saying 'this isn't right we shouldn't be up here for this long,' we finally came down. We were offered no explanation at the bottom, even though we were greeted servicemen/engineers and security, and were ushered along and out the gate quickly. Throughout
  8. Road Runner Rollercoaster was the 2nd ride to make it into Parkz All Stars Aussie Theme Park. Escape from Madagascar is the 2nd ride turned into paperclips. Parkz All Stars Aussie Theme Park line up 1: Jet Rescue 2: Road Runner Rollercoaster. I know everybody has been checking in every 5mins to see who will battle next and the wait is now over thanks to @Santa07. @Santa07 gave us a selection of 3 but I thought I would stuff it up and add one more.. It’s time to battle! which one will be left standing?
  9. I saw people debating within another topic which was a better ride. This gave me an idea. Here you can nominate two different rides from different parks. The idea is the rides you nominate are competing for the same guest. For example and this is just for @reanimated35 Big Red Car @ DW vs Superman Escape @ MW are not competing for the same guest and would not battle. I will start and keep it simple for the first one. Mick Doohan's Motocoaster @ DW vs Jet Rescue @ SW If you don't agree with the nominated rides competing than call it out. It would also be cool if a
  10. Hello! I decided to make this topic purely because Sea World aren't doing too great at the moment and are in need of some new ideas, SO, share them on here! Personally, i think that they should be focussing on expanding the park and adding new attractions, while removing old ones. Have fun!
  11. Seems odd that the Flume ride has no reopening date for maintenance? Last week it said 20th November....
  12. So after a very long absence I finally made a trip to the Gold Coast this past weekend (Admittedly it was for a Roller Derby tournament) and decided to take a few extra days to get reacquainted with the parks. Movie World I hopped off the plane and headed straight to Movie World. I was dissapointed that Superman was under maintenance but I haven't had a chance to ride Green Lantern yet. I was really annoyed when rocking up to the front gate to see that Green Lantern was also not operating. It would have been nice if they had this information on the website or on their hotline (of whi
  13. After a great time at Movie World's Halloween the weekend before. It was time to cross the Pacific to theme park Nirvana, and get my haunt on. In summary, what did I do? Sat October 17 : Travel Sydney to Los Angeles then onto Orlando / Fun Spot Orlando Sun Oct 18 : Busch Gardens Tampa and Howl O Scream Mon Oct 19 : Animal Kingdom / Disney Studios / Epcot / Magic Kingdom Tue Oct 20 : Sea World / Fun Spot Kissimmee / sleep Wed Oct 21 : Universal Orlando / Lights-on Maze Tours / Halloween Horror Nights Thu Oct 22 : Knott's Scary Farm Fri Oct 23 : Magic Mo
  14. Just spent the first half of the week up on the Gold Coast, post-Schoolies and pre-Christmas. I've got some interesting developments from Sea World, Wet'n'Wild and Dreamworld, and I'll be headed to WhiteWater World and Movie World tomorrow and Saturday. Pics are coming, my phone is glitching at the moment. Sea World was seemingly running on half-capacity to try to make everything perfect for peak season. The SpongeBob Coaster spent the first half of the day closed. New Kids' World is pretty awesome, and includes the Zamperla Demolition Derby that for some reason, Parkz lists as "announced
  15. I'm in the middle of crunching numbers to see if flying up to Cairns to hit the reef would be more economical than driving all over the place like you've suggested. This would mean we could spend more time at the parks and maybe stay at the resort instead. Is it a good go? We could spend 5 days there exploring the parks and such before heading up to Cairns. We stayed onsite at Disneyland this past month and it was a 20 minute walk to the gates... WAY too far tbh. Is the Resort closer to the parks than that or should I look for something closer but 'off site'?
  16. SeaWorld in America has faced an 84% drop in net second-quarter income, from $37.4 million in 2014 to $5.8 million in 2015, in the second quarter. Revenue fell from $405.1 million to $391.6 million, a drop of 3%, in the second quarter of 2015 when compared to 2014. Consumers are still turning their backs on SeaWorld. The embattled marine life theme park company reported steep drops in profits and attendance and on Thursday, marking more loss in the wake of the damning documentary Blackfish. The company has been struggling to maintain consumer interest in SeaWorld in the wake of Blackfish, wh
  17. Hello everyone! I sure that this question has been asked before, but, would anyone know where I can find a copy of the soundtrack from the old Sea World Dolphin Show "Imagine"? The soundtrack brings back loads of great memories from the park and all my adventures there, it means a lot to me for some reason. I would absolutely kill to have a copy of the soundtrack for nostalgia, and listening to! Can an anyone help me?
  18. Hi all! I'm just wondering if there has been any new news resurfacing of an attraction Seaworld advertised when they first opened the Storm Coaster? The poster (Right) was of jungle animals, like Gorillas, and hippopotamus, i thought that the attraction would be that of a Jungle Adventure type of thing. Like the jungle Cruise at Disney perhaps? Seaworld is working on a massive refurbishment at the moment, with the addition of Creatures Of The Deep and the Nickelodeon Land refurbishment, however I still haven't heard any news of this attraction that was set for 2014. What do you guys think?
  19. With a large area cleared from Sea Vipers spot and even more area on the other side opposite COTD. What do you think should be Sea Vipers replacement?
  20. Hi guys, Tonight (31 July 2014) is the last night you can renew your VIP Magic Pass and get a free upgrade to Gold. Their website is currently not validating renewals (their fault/technical issue), which means that people are unable to renew tickets online and claim the offer. If you've tried to renew your pass online, post in here. I think they should extend the offer, considering the glitch. I'll post details from Village Roadshow Theme Parks / Themeparks.com.au as they come through. Cheers, Nick
  21. On the Sea Viper page on Sea World maintenence page is the following message. " Sea Viper is being retired after bringing thrills to Sea Worlds guests for 32 years. Sea Viper has been a wonderful attraction but there comes a time when all rides need to retire. Sea World is constantly looking at new attractions like the $21M Storm Coaster which opened in December and there are several new and exciting options in the pipeline. Our theme parks are ever changing to ensure we continue to bring you, our guests, the best possible theme park experience possible."
  22. What do you personally consider to be the most intense ride on the Gold Coast? I expect to see a lot of people saying either Giant Drop or Superman Escape but I actually consider the AquaLoop water slide to more intense, standing on that trap door and awaiting the drop is terrifying (but the anticipation is half the fun), and then there is the actual drop and the loop.
