Inverted 146
Hey guys Just wondering if anyone else saw the Behind the scenes show of Movieworld tonight at 8.30pm, on the discovery channel It wasnt bad, it showed what goes into the training and hand picking of the characters and things like that. Also speaking of tv shows Im wondering if there is a discovery channel show for this year about the lastest thrill rides from around the world.... I have a copy of one that had xcelerator and TTD on it but I was hoping they were going to make more. It was call Extreme Machine thrill rides. Any knowledge of this would be great. Thanks
matty_o_911 0
I wish I had looked at my TV guide and found out this was on, so I missed the first half an hour, but saw the parts about the stunt show and the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster, etc. For those who also missed this show, it will be on at 4:30am and again at 10:30am tomorrow (15th January). Unfortunately I will be working tomorrow morning and will miss the 10:30am one and I will be sleeping while the 4:30am one is on, so I won't get to see it again. So if someone saw the show in full, could they please tell me what they covered in the first half, thanks.
Inverted 146
The first 10 mins was on Lethal Weapon, Wild Wild West and tryouts for dancers/entertainers in the costumes. And a little bit about guys that look after the interests of the guests and stuff.
T-bone 675
I will tape the 4:30 edition, and take it on holidays with me tomorrow. Even though i hate movie world, i can't resist a T.V show/ Movie containing rollercoasters/ theme parks.
GoGoBoy 353
How can you hate Movie World and yet love Luna Park? Movie World is leaps and bounds ahead of either of the Luna Parks. It doesn't make sense. I am setting my alarm for 10:20am so I wake up in time to watch the 10:30 screening. Sounds like a very interesting show - I have always wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes at WBMW
Richard 1,038
Sounds interesting. I'll have to tape it tomorrow morning. Thanks for letting us know. I'm also curious Paul as to why you'd hate Movie World. It's not exactly an easy park to hate.
AlexB 5,466
from what i have gathered in the past, Paul prefers the thrill rides. this is why dreamworld and luna parks and wonderland had its appeal to him. majority of the rides in those parks are whirl till you hurl kind of rides, whereas movie world really only has one ride like that - Lethal Weapon
Gazza 2,261
From what he told me, its because DW is "his place", not MW, and because its "boring" and doesnt have a studio tour. I dunno, Paul would be better to explain.
AlexB 5,466
*waits for everyone to log on and talk about the 10.30 screening which just finished.
tailsnosthings 0
did anyone tape this show and can you do a copy and send it to me PLEASEEEE
scott 0
Just because Dreamworld is someones fav park doesn't mean they are only interested in thrill rides. My fav park is Disneyland, but I would rather go to Dreamworld because of the thrill rides.Confusing,I know. AlexB 5,466
i slept in that morning, and caught the last 20 minutes. it was interesting to watch, but i would like to see a more in depth documentary. it also ran down to sea world and spent 15 minutes on the polar bears, which, in a film about movie world just made me think they ran out of stuff. i'd like to see a full "behind the scenes" on all the gold coast parks. the intricate workings of all their big rides, as well as the day to day operations... like "American Casino" on discovery on monday nights.. that i would like to see. T-bone 675
I noticed that exact same thing alex about how they switched to Sea World on a show about Movie World. Is there any other reason for this apart from "We ran outof things to look at" which wouldn't be hard for movie world.
chadtwenty 0
I am a previous employee of Movie World. I worked there from 99 - 03 in the attractions department as a presenter and I would be happy to answer any questions in relation to behind the scenes at Movie World. I also worked at Dreamworld for about 2 months at and of 97.
scott 0
Welcome, and it's good to see we have more employees who worked in an area to do with attractions.I have a question;how significant are large new thrill rides considered to be at MW.Just wondering, because it's been a while since we had any large thrill rides there...
