The property has ample open space. At the back of WOO there is around 20,000 SQM of open space and thats still allowing significant space around the water tank, and buffers from soundstages. Wh

While that may be the case, it wasn't always that way. Village has plenty of room to construct a maintenance facility elsewhere - a soundstage intended to be part of the park's footprint shouldn't be

maybe they saw positive results in the Marvin ride and are already investing in a new kids ride? either another small kids flat or a little kids coaster to balance out RRRC. I will say i’m surprised Speedy is still there after all these years being next door to JDS.

Personally I'd say this is 100% in response to the DW kids area revamps in the works. Competition is good!

I'm hoping it will be a new ride or something but it is most likely to remove the hut, which is a positive. I do hope its a flat and not a coaster however as if it is, then it will mean 6/7 of the past additions would be coasters (DCR, SR, WoO Boomerang 1, WoO Boomerang 2, SFC and another coaster) with Marvin being the exception.

Yes I would rather JDS to be removed and replaced with a LT dark ride similar to LTRR but that wont happen. I don't like how all LT is reserved for kids rides only so it would be good for a family LT ride.

Been a while since ive been in that area (letalone the park), but is the colour in carrot still there?

Yeah the carrots were removed many years ago. I remember at the time there was an online community petitioning to keep them - there was a website and everything and I think it had cast member connections to it as well.

This thread from August 2007 shows the demolition

For a while now i'd thought the rundown shack the subject of this thread had formerly been a carrot... they have the same basic shape - but looking back now I don't think it was...

They are just removing the hut - Dont get too excited!

Yeah - gotta be honest, it looked like shit so i'm also excited they're removing it. It's interesting that they're doing it without any apparent plans for the area so i'll be keen to see what they do with the space once it's gone.

Marvin the Martian has proved that you don’t need a lot of space to put a decent kids ride in, so hopefully one day we see a new attraction here. However, they are restricted by the emergency exit doors for HSD that are to the left of Tweety Cages

Marvin's footprint takes up about 40sqm. The space between the HWSD exit doors and the hut is quite a bit larger than that - however i'm not sure whether it's viable - and would depend on what they use the space behind first aid for -

The hut is connected to another structure, which is also connected to first aid.

I'd love to see a Cuvu Quest in the area.

The hut shares a common wall with first aid. The entire building is used by that department.

🫡.  Looks like a decent plot of land for a small kids ride.  Or a world class shaded seating “precinct“/s

I'm keen to see what they do with the space - this wasn't part of their Oz\Marvin announcements so it sounds like a park refresh more than a new ride - but i'd be ok with a seating area as WB Kids does lack a nice spot to sit while the kids run amok (the area next to tweety was never big enough, and Marvin took out the little space at the back, so it's needed now more than ever)

I'm wondering about the wall though - what was in front of it before, that it wasn't painted like the rest?

Looks like on google earth there was an odd facade wall that came out of the blue wall. Not sure what it was. Just decoration perhaps? They must have took out the hut and this weird wall as well.

Looks like we may have lost the pencil pines over the back but the big bushy trees near the front look like they're still there.

The big pine right beside the hut is obviously gone, and i'm not sure how I feel about that. It gave some great shade in that area, and was likely an original park planting... i'm keen to see what they are planning for this area...

I’d like to see a food stand of some kind in the sizable chunk of land they have to work with lots of shade for outdoor seating, they could also serve exclusive looney tunes themed snacks.

Why? So it can be closed for 10 months a year?
