2005 Attraction for Cedar Point

12 posts in this topic

The Huss Giant Frisbee, is a beast! and it looks damn awesome, and very neat and sharp. I love the sounds, I love the name maXair! and I love the overall look! I hope to get to Cedar Point in the next 2 years to ride this marvel! Definetly much nicer looking to Intamins version. Chris

Scott, the Intamins Apex looks really bad and bulky... I love how HUSS have made it nice and neat, the motors are massive, but you still hardly notice them! it makes a fantastic sound like Rainbow aswell!

Yeah the apex is a bit bulky but I prefer the overall structure. Anyway, it's good to see CP build on it's reputation with this.

I actually don't mind the apex/pivot dealie in Intamins Gyro Swing. Makes the ride look different and more impressive. I originally thought it looked like a giant hunk of crap, but I reckon it looks nifty now. And the seats and restraints are one of the most important parts of a ride. Lots of people whinge about how the Claw (travelling) has horrible restraints, and they're right, it spoils the ride to a degree. And in roller-coasters, good restrains can make or break a ride, what type of person liked the Thunderbolts roughness? I think it's pretty easy to like or dislike a ride due to it's comfort and restraining mechanisms. I'd prefer Dreamworlds any day (by the looks of things so far).

My thoughts exactly. If a ride has good seats and restrains it can really enhance the ride. but if they are bad they can ruin it. Take bountys at WL, its over tight restraints and unmoulded seats ruined the ride a bit. And anyway, when you are on the ride you cant see the motor properly anyway.

Haven ridden maXair I must say in the way of being any sort of thrill ride it was a bit of a dissapointment. The back and forth motion is simply relaxing for me, and the spinning was no where near fast enough. If the ride had gone nearly vertical then it would of been a different ride all together, though with it only just going past horizontal.. I could of fallen asleep on it.
