mattcrombie 51
I heard something about the Simpson's being involved with Movieworld soon, not sure how or where....but its some talk going around. Anyone know anything?
Luke 243
Well this is the first time that I have heard anything about it. I didn't think that Warner Bros. are connected with the Simpsons? Aren't they with 20th Century Fox? Although when I was at Crown Casino a couple weeks ago, they've got a big Warner Bros. Shop, and they were selling Simpsons merchandise. Anyway, this seems like a very, very big rumor. CoAsTeRbOy8
T-bone 675
Well look what happened with Shrek, it isn't a Warner Bros film. It doesn't really matter if the idea they are going for is under the WB name or not, if they want a name for their ride, all they really have to do is pay the right price. dreamworld_rulz 1
Cool i love the Simpsons however I'm not a huge fan. My sister is a huge fan though. Can't wait to see the movie in July.
aidan 0
Yeh I would love Movieworld to have something Simpsons related, im a MASSIVE fan,. hope its not just having a screening of the movie in July. Edited March 24, 2007 by aidan
lisalila 0
I thought they were gonna do something once the movie comes out because there was some simpsons posters being sold in the WB store when I was there in November and they had a preview for the simpson movie on the big screen before the hi 5 stuff started and the WB store on the gc has a crap load of simpson merchandise but the wb store at Crown has been selling simpsons merchandise for well over two years so that's nothing to go by really. Churros 0
Yeah, those WB stores have all sorts of stuff, regardless of whether or not the movie has anything to do with Warner Bros. And just because the trailer was on the screen doesn't mean too much either. I have seen trailers for all sorts of movies on that screen from all over the place. That being said, when you look at Movieworld as a whole they are happier being considered a more general movie park rather than a Warner Bros specific park. You can see this in the fact that they repeatedly play music from movies such as Star Wars, and Rocky, which are not WB properties. As well as the obvious Shrek 4D Adventure. I would love to see something the Simpsons related at the park, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was limited to a parade type thing. And as long as they don't remove anything else for it. mickey_079 18
Its like the Back to the Future: The Ride at Universal Studios. There has been talk of the ride closing, not all the stages for the ride are operating anymore and the ride is in terrible state, they are saying they are going to close the ride down and replace it with a Simpson's themed ride... hmmm? Edited March 25, 2007 by mickey_079
taronga 2
It wouldn't surprise me if they get the same thing as Universal parks, after what they did to include shrek. Maybe they should drop the WB name, and rebrand as Universal (since Village bought-out their share). Edited March 25, 2007 by taronga
aidan 0
I don't think they would do that because they have a very good friendship between them, and wouldnt it just cost more for rights?
AlexB 5,467
I was about to make the same point. Warner Bros are now at that park only in name, and Village Roadshow has a large enough share of the movies out there. Bear in mind, even if it is 20th Century Fox, that 2CF have done a lot of collaboration with Village Roadshow as a Distribution network among other things, so theres always the possibility. Perhaps the survey out recently, which talks about a new 4d adventure film in the park could be something simpsons related? ut oh - theres a hot rumor to start.... lol. mattcrombie 51
Got filled in today about "The Simpsons" rumor. Its apparently looking at getting built where the old sound stage is in the western part. All the old looking buildings will be ripped out and replaced with a city, you guess it...... Springfield. Surveyors were inspecting the area recently. Anyone with any info please inform us all. I guess we just have to sit back and wait.
taronga 2
If the Springfield rumor is true, then i hope they do it Disneyland Toontown style (lots of detail & gags on the facades).
Adam 5
The circled area looks like a perfect location for something Australian Idol related; especially with a stage nearby. As for The Simpson's, the third high-definition trailer is out. This trailer actually includes some quite funny jokes (unlike some of the new TV episodes).
BNErider 95
It would be great. Even good to have a 'ride' in the soundstage or at least a show. The back of Movie World needs one more ride.
MickeyD 938
well if they were going to do that, how awesome would it be to put the planned BTTFR/conversion to Simpsons ride inside the show stage!
New display name 2,955
What where the surveyors doing as they do not inspect things. Movie world would have all the heights for there park without the need to call in a surveyor. I would think the surveyor would be adding in datum marks for when the builders come along. Gazza 2,265
Well most people here wouldn't know much about what precisely surveyors would need to be doing (Heck, I spent a week working with surveyors for work experience and all I remember it being was a whole lot of carrying around equipment and setting it up) I think the main gist of what Mattcrombie was saying is that there were surveyors doing something indicating future construction work. MickeyD 938
Well the above comment is a matter of opinion and clearly not a well supported one. Sure, family guy and Sth Park are great shows but the Simpsons is an institution that people have grown up and lived with all their lives. Next time, take a breath and have a think about what you're going to say before shooting your mouth off..
Gold Coaster 0
well if they were going to do that, how awesome would it be to put the planned BTTFR/conversion to Simpsons ride inside the show stage! Back to the Future: The Ride? Oh my. That would be a dream come true for me... I'd never leave the place.
MickeyD 938
well my immediate thought would be budget wise, no way could MW afford a Simpsons Ride like the one Universal has planned for BTTF. But then Shrek is almost exactly the same here as it is in the US and of course they would save a packet seeing the Technology (and no doubt expensive footage) has already been developed overseas for Universal.. Hmm.. Oh well it's nice to dream but how cool would that be? I have no doubt this new ride in Universal is going to be a smash hit when it eventually opens
BNErider 95
Whatever it's going to be. It will be good....lets hope.
mattcrombie 51
There gonna be making it like Moe's Bar where you can go for a drink, the Kwiki Mart to buy stuff like a Seven eleven...etc..
