Couldn't see it mentioned elsewhere, but in an email I received today trying to get me to renew, it mentions the Locals One Pass is getting a price rise on 11 November 2024.

Gotta pay for the new Oz expansion somehow I guess.

Got the same email, and I only renewed 2 months ago…

Locals AP is $219 or $189 to renew, wonder what it’ll rise to if they’re blasting everyone with an email?

Surely this was an error sending to all passholders though?
I checked to see if I could renew & “lock-in” this price and it doesn’t let me because mine expires in July.

So, did I get this email by accident? Or are they trying to trick me into getting a new pass now at $219 because to renew when I’m actually eligible to renew might cost more than that? So confused.

to be fair I saw recently Dreamworld had put out renewal emails recently too, and friends of mine received completely different pricing offers - including some who had already renewed.

Sounds like both mailouts are broad targeted to the entire mailing list rather than targeted renewals, so they're both just as incompetent as the other.

...or they've just mail-blasted their member lists to get a message of urgency out quickly and are prepared to cop the flack from messaging people who aren't eligible.

I get multiple messages because I renewed some passes, and bought new passes other years, so I reckon i've probably got more than one "member number" in the system so even if I have a 'current' pass they're probably still showing one of my membership numbers as 'expired and eligible'.

I suspect once Rivertown is complete, DW prices will also be rising.

No doubt about it. Expecting price increases from both after the new areas are open

DW emails appear to only be received within the renewal period.

Normally, VRTP do the exact same.

I question the reason and intent behind this latest email blast hitting the inboxes of many people like myself who have many months validity left on their pass (I have 8 months to go) therefore not able to renew or ”act fast & best the price rise”.

Smells to me more like a dodgy confuse the masses for a cash grab rather than a whoops accidentally hit send to all instead of some

Just to repeat my original post - friends of mine received renewal offers despite having already renewed.

I haven't been a DW passholder since 2022 but I got an $99 pass offer email within the past fortnight. It was for a locals pass though; I didn't have locals pass and I'm not a local, so I'm not sure how they came to that conclusion...

$99 bucks is a steal though!

Can confirm a friend of mine who isn't local also got a locals renewal offer.

I’ve heard zero about it lately, have they dropped it?

Tried logging in, verification code is sent but the website doesn't accept it. The 10% discount off Food & Beverage each month for the once off $25 isn't too bad imo.

Once again I feel as if this came down to mediocre idea awful execution. However, the TikTok subscription was an awful idea with mediocre execution. They've currently got 13 suckers paying for it, first month is $8.39 second $9.99.

Its not bad, but them saying the project was to ‘enhance your in-park experience’ ‘to the next level’ in comparison to an annual pass, rather than the obvious jump onto the NFT bandwagon for a quick cash grab, when Dreamworld already offers that exact benefit (but better, ‘cause unlimited & including merchandise) with their annual pass, is telling. Maybe they’ll add the benefit to their One Pass when they up the price, so Village Key becomes useless and the annual offerings are comparable again, but I think we all know that’s not what’s on their mind.
