Tornado! What's it like?

9 posts in this topic

I have only actually recently moved to Australia. So I haven't been to all the theme parks yet, actually just not Wet'n'Wild and White Water World. But I'm going to be going soon, and I was wondering what the intensity of the Tornado was like?

The Tornado (along with the Green Room at WWW) is Australia's best water slide IMO. Its so cool going up on the walls and plunging back down, and its the sort of ride you don't get sick of and keeps you coming back. I have seen little kids going on this thing, which proves just how much appeal it has.

The Green Room at WhiteWater World is reportedly a better version of the two. And from what I have seen I would agree with this. The extra tunnel at the start seems to add to the ride. Wet 'n' Wild's version is the shortest

IMO its more to do with the fact the Green Room runs with Cloverleaves and Tornado runs with Whirlywheels. The extra momentum of the cloverleaf rafts means it doesn't slow as much when you crash through the water at the bottom, so you oscillate up the walls a bit more. I guess the starting bit of the Green Room makes it a little bit better since it's pitch black in there (rather than the translucent colours used on Tornado) plus its a bit longer. When you get down to it they are still pretty much the same ride experience, If WnW ran cloverleaves then they would be pretty much equal.
