Lara Croft For Xmas

Not exactly what I'd call a surprise, especially given what I've been hinting to over the past few weeks. It's a limited season, so we shouldn't expect anything terribly extravagent, though the sets they've bough do look pretty nice. There's absolutely no reason anyone could have expected any more for this year. Aside from the fact that it's pretty much been public knowledge that they weren't investing this year, they've had a hugely capital intensive past five or six years. Just wait a year and you'll all be happy.

That's right Ian, the mystery of the Cyclone cow has been solved! Great moment of personal satisfaction for me. Iron Henge looks pretty cool too. For those that don't know, its a multi-dollar attraction midway between Blue Lagoon and the Big Brother house. Its meant to be an updated stone henge, and is just as mysterious (just wait for the photos and you'll see what I mean!). The park is actually looking in quite good shape. New themeing elements litter the park, and the tomb raider section doesn't look nearly as bad as I thought. The only down side for today was GD only running one side causing 90 Min queues (or so the sign said) and Cyclone operating at a staggering 288 pph (is it popular enough to add a second train yet Dreamworld?). I would have hated to be a one off visitor, but as someone whose more then truly over the rides there, I thought the park was ok.

Nice update indeed. Just aout those Iron Henges. Those have always been there near the Big Brother Walkway because of the fact that when raining, it makes an excellent pool. Don't get wrong, let your imagination run wild guys, but that's all it is. I mean, would YOU like your 10 grand camera wet while shooting people coming out of the Big Bro. House? I didn't think so. PS: THIS IS MY 200TH POST. YAY. OH YEAH BABY YEAH!

so what did everybody think of the joz's modeling with the new air con system? It was a big update but fun just like the day at dreamworld it's good when you meet up with fellow theme park freaks. p.s the Lara Croft I talked too said they may be extending till easter.

Cool - good to see things coming together at Dreamworld. It's nice that the cow is making cameo appearences around the park. Speaking of which, we're about two years overdue for giving her a name. Suggestions anyone? :) I'm going to have to make some serious attempts to get to some theme parks soon. I'm liking the looks of Tomb Raider. It looks similar to Universal Studios Hollywood's Mummy walkthrough, which I thought would be pretty bad but was actually one of my favourite things there. Sounds like they're really making their usual efforts to get Cyclone going well. As someone who's now conditioned to two-train minimum, I think I'll wait a few weeks until school is back before I embark on a nice reality check.

Hey people, just came back from QLD, and I went in that Tomb Raider: Enter The Tomb maze thing. 1 thing: It is bloody scary!! lol The most scariest ride/attraction in my life, it scared the living daylights out of me, rofl. It was on the day where the skylink shutdown, and I was going to video tape some stuff, but I couldn't really because of the rain. I went wondering by myself away from the showgroup, and went to TR. They assigned us in groups of 4-6 (If I can remember) and we entered a little room to hear some info about what to do and not do in the maze. One thing was to "Do not touch the creatures, if any harmful contact is made to them you will be escorted out of the park" - Geez, that's harsh, but these "creatures" were just humans with real good make-up on and a costume. So once the guy/TV stops talking, you walk through a straight bit of the maze shrouded in mist and fake torches, and the lookalike of Lara Croft tells you to keeps your hands on the persons shoulders directly in front of you and don't get lost. Well, of course, you do what she says, and you enter the maze, you start off with a very trippy tunnel, with a bridge and a spinning outside that makes your brain walk in many directions - a very big spinout! After that it is through walls, corners, censors, scares, frights, etc. The scariest looking "creatures" jump out at you from out of no where, which frightens the hell out of you. Once one of the 'creatures' leaped at the person at the front (I was at the back) from a light which you cannot see anything behind it, and I swore, lol, and the creature followed me round the corner making a hungry lions mouth crackling noise kind of sound. The ride is mainly that, and getting scared out of your wits all the way to the exit, where you are actually once happy you are exiting a ride.

Went to DreamWorld, Tomb Raider was pretty good, BUT, you can tell it was designed for a limited season. Cyclone was in tip top condition as well, sorry, perfect condition, it was a perfect yellow colour, and the train was as smooth as silk. Tower Of Terror was really playing up though, which meant that i couldn't ride it  . maybe Monday though :P

Just wanted to say these haunted mazes are a night time atmosphere attraction thats why they only operate in North American parks from 6pm to 12/2am durning October the month of Hallowean. So of course they are not going to seem as good on a January summer day at 10am plus over there you head out to the parks at night after work/school just to have fun with scary old hallowean.
