Where have the Batmobile's gone??

the one from the Gotham Town Hall is gone, as are the bikes.

And Batman walked the parade, with no Tumbler in sight...

the batman shop is closed...

its a #batspiracy!!!

Could be gone for regular maintenance.

Could be gone for repairs (bulk discount on bat products?)

Could be gone in preparation for something else coming soon?

Could be gone to be re-ulititised as coaster theming?

Randomly stumbled across this article today and thought it was worth a share.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/media/village-roadshow-to-offload-stake-in-singapore-screens/news-story/d45aa2a938bc78c295de2b03c2c81f6b

(here's the full article since the Australian is notorious for doing that annoying paywall thing)

"Village Roadshow to offload stake in Singapore screens

Village Roadshow has begun talks to sell its Singapore cinema business in a bid to reduce debt after a tough first-half.

Theme park operator and movie distributor Village Roadshow Limited has begun talks to offload its 50 per cent stake in its Singapore cinema business.

The company this morning confirmed to the ASX that it is negotiating with film and TV content producer mm2 Asia to take over its stake in Dartina Development, a company incorporated in Hong Kong which holds the Golden Village Cinema business in Singapore.

Golden Village runs 11 multiplexes housing 91 screens in Singapore. But the business has struggled in a soft Singaporean economy over the last year and brought in earnings of just $4.7 million for the six months to December 31.

The discussions for the potential sale are at a preliminary stage and are ongoing. mm2 Asia said there was no assurance that the proposed purchase would materialise.

The Melbourne-based Village Roadshow Limited has been reviewing its assets for possible sale in a bid to reduce its soaring debt levels after a tough first half result forced the company to suspend its dividend.

Last month the company offloaded its majority stake in Village Roadshow Entertainment Group (VREG) — the film financier and distribution company of Hollywood hits such as Mad Max and The Avengers — to Vine Alternative Investments and private equity firm Falcon Investment Advisors.

That restructure resulted in Village Roadshow Limited reducing its 47 per cent stake in VREG to 20 per cent by handing control of the entity to the New York-based Vine Alternative Investments Group and Falcon.

As part of the sale of VREG to its new American owners, Village Roadshow Limited was granted an option for a further 2.5 per cent equity stake in the entity. It was also granted $US10m of subordinated notes repayable by November 2022 with a non-cash return of 15.5 per cent per annum.

The deal comes at a time when Village Roadshow — which distributes movies in Australia and operates theatres and theme parks — has struggled with poor financial results.

In the six months to December 31, the company reported a loss of $6.7 million after a disappointing first half performance by its Gold Coast theme parks which contributed to a net debt that now stands at 3.27 times company earnings.

That poor result forced the company to suspend its dividend as it said it would consider selling assets to cut debt.

In April Village Roadshow warned that theme park visitor numbers for the first nine months of the financial year were down 9.4 per cent following last October’s fatal accident at rival park Dreamworld and Tropical Cyclone Debbie."

Not the best news for VR as a whole, hopefully all the upcoming new attractions will at least help to turn things around profit wise in the theme park department at least....

There were two updates is since the original post:

UPDATE 12:53PM: Power remains out at Dreamworld this afternoon. Energex has restored power to the local area feeder. Dreamworld and Energex are investigating the cause of the outage before power is returned to the Park. We apologise to all guests for this inconvenience and we thank Energex for their swift response and support. Update will follow.

UPDATE 12:25PM: Local area power outage. Energex has advised the local area power outage is due to a substation failure. Energex has crews onsite and is currently working to return power to the local area.

Not long afterwards all guests and staff had to leave the park, while the electrical issue is attended to and resolved. The park should reopen tomorrow.

Dreamworld is currently experiencing a localised power outage. The power outage activated controlled stops on the Buzzsaw. The ride was returned to its unload position and guests were disembarked safely. We are currently investigating the power outage with Energex.

That's good news, drove past this afternoon and was shocked at how empty the carpark was for such a nice day.  Glad there was a reason for it.

While this is international, Sega Republic in Dubai, the last of the Sega World theme parks outside Japan, has suddenly shut its doors. The website redirects here:

Likewise, there are staff tributes for the theme park on Instagram, and the Facebook + Twitter pages of Sega Republic have been deleted. I sent the owner, Emaar Entertainment, an email to see what is happening, and I got this response:

Quite a shame, I went to this theme park last year on a stopover to Europe, and was quite fun despite its size. I wonder what has happened to their young Gerstlauer spinning coaster they had.

Oh that's sad. It's my favourite attraction at Dreamworld.

Could that mean that they might be changing or adding some more things into the maze?
