The wheel is located at the South Bank in the heart of Brisbane's cultural, lifestyle and entertainment district. After a brief introduction to the facilities available, passengers enter one of the 42 fully enclosed, climate controlled capsules and are gently lifted to a height of 60 meters for a spectacular view of the city. Lasting approximately 13 minutes, the wheel experience also features a commentary pointing out local landmarks. We welcome visitors with disabilities to The Wheel of Brisbane. See, this is why I hate the copy 'n' paste. When/where is this article from? I first found out about this here on Parkz. and since then it has been repeatedly delayed. So is this just some press release from way back then, or is it actually opening soonish? There is nothing on the South Bank corporation website....a link from where this info is from, or some sort of indication as to whether this is a new update, or old news would go a long way.

I assume youve all seen the two supports pretuding from the international court? Now there finnaly at the stage the Showgrounds wheel is at EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR. Good work team.

The article is on the World Tourist Attractions website and yes, I did see the supports from the other side of the river today.

Today I discovered I have a 3 hour gap between my Lecture and Tute, so I went into the city and noticed the wheel at the last second whilst in the bus.

The wheel itself is up, gondolas have been installed, and light up at night time. I don't have a camera or phone capable of taking photos at the moment, but should do soon. Perhaps someone else who goes near Southbank may want to take photos?

So has anyone heard about the proposal for the ferris wheel at Darling Harbour? The ran a 3 month trial of a portable version not long ago to see the numbers. There has already been alot of people saying no to the idea. What's with plonking ferris wheel's everywhere now?
