Intamin 0
Yesterday I went to Dreamworld and went to the motocoaster first. I looked over at the TOT track and the car was stopped right at the end of the track before it goes up the tower. Some engineers got on the track and had a steel wire with a hook attached. They had trouble attaching it, but finally put it on. Then they slowly pulled (not by hand) it back to the station at about 3km/h. It did not have a test run until 12:30 and wasn't open until just after 1:00. Apart from that it was a very good day at Dreamworld. No other rides broke down and there wasn't many queues for school holidays. P.S. Motocoaster had two trains, Giant Drop had two sides, and AVPX had two briefing rooms running (although it took about 35mins still) Edited June 30, 2009 by Intamin
Spotty 173
Hmm, it is normal for the Tower of Terror to do what it did. It would have been a drive trip. Normally the ride pulls itself back into the station using the magnets, but not by the steel cable. Which leads me to believe that it was a epic fail. At least you can put AVPX on Q4U now
Reanimated35 3,493
last time i was there the TOT ops were mentioning that it had been having a lot of problems over the past few weeks and had been doing some e-stops. maybe they need to do maintenance and are waiting til the claw is back and holidays are over? Spotty 173
Hmmm, Tower of Terror is not even scheduled for maintenance yet but it's been running fine the last few times that I've been there. The claw has had the main arm re-painted and new seat covers and is looking brand new. Hopefully the rest of the ride will get the same treatment. I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Dreamworld is making a comeback, and the future is looking bright with Noel at the reins.

More than likely though, the ride tripped and the trip meter just didnt catch it, which means they have to manually winch it back. Happens every now and then.
Spotty 173
Oh, they actually have to run downstairs and re-set it? I thought it could just be done on the panel. How far away is this resetting implement if you don't mind me asking. If you are not able to disclose this information I do understand however.
