Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but it looks like Wet 'n' Wild Sydney will have an RFID system similar to Fastpass+ in Walt Disney World called MyBand. It allows you to upload money, like a prepaid visa, and then spend it around the park on food and merchandise, as well as being used as your entry ticket.

If this goes well, hopefully we'll see this move up to the Gold Coast!

They have splash cash already at Wet n Wild on the Gold Coast and it works well, I've used it a few times. If you purchase a locker with the band, you scan your band to gain entry throughout the day. No idea why it isn't available at Movie World, possibly because it would allow people to "limit" their spending, and no business wants that.

I'm pretty sure the "Loose Items" policy for Superman hurts sales more than a bracelet that allows a guest to have a wallet on them all day

^Splash Cash ins't RFID though. I've used a system similar to what Zanstabar described at Wild Wadi. I liked it because every locker had it's own scanner on the door rather than having to go to a centralised touch screen module shared by several lockers.

I've never been one to bother loading money on to buy food etc. If I'm stopping for lunch I'm probably going via my locker to reapply sunscreen and check my phone.

I'm sure they would, but I'm also sure they would make alot of sales.. You win some you loose some. I, along with the majority would just walk down the stairs and grab my money if I saw something I liked. It's less than 20 meters there and back.

Don't even try the website on an iPhone, or you're gonna have a bad time.

On Ipad it works flawlessly.

Went by today, was a bit hard to stop and get photos due to the road works, but i did make use of what i could.

Although the picture doesn't show it too much, the Skycoaster is quite the structure. Also driving past, i could see they had started planting around the lazy river and it looks really good.

That actual billboard has only been built in the past few months hence late night lane closures for construction. Maybe they previously advertised on a tree or on the back of bats that inhabit that area?

At least i'm not the only one who thought they ripped off elevation....[/quote Maybe they had permission to do so? They've always intended planting around the lazy river. It was part of the original plans.

Is it just me or does that lazy river look a little narrow? And is it made out of steel (or something) rather than concrete? I'd also like to see more than 'plantings'... Some rockwork, tunnels or water features that you pass through/under might be nice. Although I've got a feeling WnW Sydney might be very theming-lite...
