Considering Hovercrafts haven't been invented. No. unless he wants to call it a hovercraft but it isnt. I hope it happens because an amusement park would be great for the sunshine coast economy

What? Hovercrafts have been crossing the English Channel for decades - car carrying ones, at that. This won't happen, but it's not because he wants to use hovercrafts to ferry passengers...

Not to mention the commercial ones that a NZ company make.... Also: http://www.rc-hovercrafts.com/

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the Sunshine Coast already have an amusement park, and many other very successful tourist attractions?

No you're thinking of hoverboards: 0213-back-to-the-future-hoverboards_full_600.jpg

I remember Seaworld having a hovercraft in the 80's. It used to do tours of the Broadwater. The Clive Palmer project just featured on the local news. Had animations of the proposed hotel as well as the hovercraft. Hopefully it will be posted online. He did say he has given a 6 month deadline for public opinion and if it isn't wanted He'll build it somewhere else. Hopefully the naysayers don't get it shelved.

Considering the Sunshine Coast Council are total arseholes who are against any development whatsoever, it will never happen. Also, an international airport? Really? Can we just stick with the amusement park please lol

Kinda seems a bit of a meh proposal, despite its size and judging by the renderings shown on the news. All the usual buzzwords, such as "luxury hotel", "shopping an dining", "golf course", "casino" etc etc. And of course, all the buildings are those long blocky things, painted white, with lots of glass. It just comes across so generic! You'll go there, and the "shopping" will consist of the same designer stores seen at any other large modern shopping centre, just arranged in a different order. 5 star hotel? Hardly a groundbreaking offering in that market. Ditto the golf course. I'm not anti development or anything, and I wouldn't care if it got built or not, but its just such stereotypical big company stuff that its hard to get remotely excited. The Wavebreak proposal for the GC has similar feelings from me.
