Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion

Probably prepping it for demolition. It wont reopen now the River Rapids is getting demolished. Hopefully a new Mine Ride gets built. Removing the River Rapids holding pond next to it means a bigger and better Mine Ride can get built.

i don't think they will be building any more mine rides. most likely the whole goldrush area will be demolished and BS re-themed.

I believe it is more likely that DW ditches the gold rush theme altogether and rethemes the area to something new. It allows the following to happen:

• It allows DW to gain new visitors by capitalising on something that is new; ie: a new themed area
• It puts the park on good terms with the victims' families by removing the area that caused the deaths of their loved ones.
• It also allows DW to clean up that specific section of the park that has needed an update since Eureka closed in 2005.

The Eureka Mountain ride is iconic my ass.

It's about time Dreamworld should get rid of the ride, get rid of the Gold Rush theme and move as far away from the accident as possible.

I am hoping the mountain stays. Very iconic in the gold rush area. 

@bladex where did you get that info from? That would cost more money then necessary.

I'd say it was opinion rather than sourced info, but to be honest, it's very well reasoned. Distancing themselves from that incident is necessary. The mountain will have to go and is no more iconic than the Sturt paddler.

No amount of money right now is too much to give that area an entirely fresh start.

just spoke to Dreamworld about my trip yesterday and I asked them what's happening with it, they said that they don't have an answer to my question at this stage.

That's a storage shed. Or at least it has been over the past several years so I would assume it still is.

It was the maintenance bay for a mine ride that used to be there, now it is a store room.

Going to be interesting to see what DW do about storing any gear what's in Eureka Mountain. You would think if they had another store room they'd use it instead.

I'm sure they would just build a shed if they absolutely had to? Not too hard to create new storage space, especially in a park of Dreamworld's size.

I believe the area is still used as a general Maintenance workshop space. 

Lighting is pretty much always on in there and Fitters as well as other Maintenance crew are often spotted coming and going through those big doors.

For an Enthusiast like myself it has always been an area of great interest, catching the occasional glimpse of the inside and skeleton of the mine ride coaster above.

There is a small part of a plank missing, which is wear the photo was taken
