Theme Park Girl 1,963 Report post Posted May 23, 2015 Just spotted this in my FB news feed this morning by the TPSN... according to their info it starts this Tuesday and is called "Inner City Rush 500":
lifeofsamage 27 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 I can sort of confirm this. One of the stunt drivers posed on Instagram it opening in 3 days, yesterday.
pushbutton 750 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 Well HWSD2 didn't last long. Maybe the MD or CEO went and saw it! Or maybe they got sufficient negative guest feedback to persuade them it wasn't good enough. I look forward to seeing the new show, and hope it will impress! ScienticianLady 6 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 I am interested to hear what this is like. I remember (back in the olden days) the original show with the planted guy in the audience. Never got around to seeing the new show (which I hear is a good thing).
Flea 94 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 I think it was more so a result of the removal of the bikes that made for a disjointed show, prompting the change. HWSD2 in its original format wasn't that bad - what's showing today is embarrassing.
Reanimated35 3,479 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 HWSD1 was good. - Not as good as it should have been, but still good. (I mean the days with the reversed car and all the cars involved)HWSD2 should not have happened.
Zanstabar 241 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 Anyone else think the name "Inner City Rush 500" sounds pretty bad? For some reason I feel like it could pass as the name for those Daytona games at basically every bowling alley.

Theme Park Girl 1,963 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 I remember (back in the olden days) the original show with the planted guy in the audience. The planted guy would be 'Rodney' in the hawaiian shirt from the Police Academy stunt show lol. You can see him in the start of this vid: Anyone else think the name "Inner City Rush 500" sounds pretty bad? For some reason I feel like it could pass as the name for those Daytona games at basically every bowling alley. Lol yeah its a bit corny to say the least XDOn a side note, I totally kick ass at Daytona lol. Will never forget the day when, as a teen, I stood up to 3 random guys who decided to join my race at Timezone one day.... left them pretty miffed when I mopped them off the floor on the advanced track
pushbutton 750 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 The name is ok to me, provided it makes sense in the context of the actual show. Hopefully it will, and more importantly the show will be great.
iwerks 616 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 City vs Country sounds a lot like Outback Spectacular or any other show VRTP does these days.
themagician 2,671 Report post Posted May 25, 2015 As long as if the show has a good storey line, the theming has been fixed up (or at least a lot better than what it was) then it will be an improvement. I'm hoping they introduce some forms of comedy to the show again as well.
AlexB 3,442 Report post Posted May 25, 2015 I don't think comedy is within the ShowtimeFMX repertoire.
Theme Park Girl 1,963 Report post Posted May 25, 2015 So the new show starts today. Anybody off to MW to see it? Don't forget to give us a review on whether it's any good ?Unfortunately I have work today so no theme parks for me... I do have tomorrow off however, so might wander down that way then to check out this new stunt show and see if it's any improvement on the last (fingers crossed) ??? pushbutton 750 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 The "all new Hollywood Stunt Driver 2" is still being advertised on the Movie World website!
themagician 2,671 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 I'm fairly sure it has said that since the show started last year and they haven't updated it. On the line below it says there are Aries stunts (referring to the motor bikes that aren't in the show any more)
pushbutton 750 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 Perhaps they need to employ someone to take care of the websites.
themagician 2,671 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 It seems that the show is still called 'Hollywood Stunt Driver 2', so maybe the film they make is the Inner City 500 (that's if they are making a film in the show). I'm imagining that these two guys at the front would be the comedy part of the show. I'm really hoping it is an improvement on the last one. themagician 2,671 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) Someone asked MW on FB about the show and they said the name is still Hollywood Stunt Driver 2, but they have changed everything else Edited May 26, 2015 by themagician
pushbutton 750 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 That's going to confuse a lot of guests. You don't change a show but still call it the same name (especially when you know that the name is associated with a previous show that didn't really work)!Regardless, I will go and see it in a couple of weeks. AlexB 3,442 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 Shamu has been dead since 1971, but SeaWorld still use the name...I think HWSD3 would probably be pushing the limit to be honest. Where do they stop? Do they change the name every time they drop \ add a character \ vehicle?I don't think it matters. People who visit regularly will know what the show is. People who don't won't know anything about the former HWSD2... so it doesn't matter either way.
Theme Park Girl 1,963 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 Ok at MW atm to see this new show, stay tuned lol
Brad2912 2,323 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 Show just finished. A marked improvement on HSD2, some new tricks and a little humour chucked in (as good as Showtime can manage). 2 Utes, a VW Beetle, a 4wheeler and a Dune Buggy are used. From my limited memory of HSD1 Id say it's on parr
lifeofsamage 27 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 I'd go to the extent of saying it's better that hsd1. There are a few thing that need fixing (parts of the set and some voice overs) but other than that I really enjoyed it
Theme Park Girl 1,963 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Ok well I'm gonna go against the grain and say I am disappointed with the new show. I mean they brought the storyline back and made a few corny attempts at humour with a couple of cops, but it's still just 20 minutes of burnouts. All the other good stunts have been pulled, such as the 3 cars balancing on 2 wheels simultaneously (which was my fave from HSD1) and the dummy car being shot in half. There were a couple of buggy jumps and a fireball but the rest was still just your run of the mill skidding around, 'near miss' stunts. Watch footage of the first one on YouTube again and you'll see how much is missing and how much better it was with an ongoing comic relief character (Marty) etc. My conclusion... better than the temp show, but still not as good as the first and nowhere near as good as Police Academy.
